[Right, that's my move, then. Next round, Izzy'll try doing the hide-and-peek thing, get an angle on the ogre. Stealth roll total: 20, once I get there. That should set me up for a sneak attack, the round after.]

OOC: I'll go last again.
With most of his targets hiding, Blackarrow lowers his aim and instead charges toward the temple. As he focuses in on the threats ahead, he pushes himself faster and faster, hoping that he can still get there in time to be of some use.
Athletics Roll: 22! Double Extraordinary success, so he'll take 2 more moves. 120ft in one round sure is nice.

OOC: Fargrim can go second to last since I'll just dash.
Fargrim sees the goblins regrouping inside the temple, now being surrounded by the brave friendly forces. He sprints (dash move) towards the temple with all his breath, still managing to be overtaken by the speeding human archer. Fargrim blames his armor, tugging at it under his shirt to see if it lossens a bit. "Blasted chainmail, hampering my moves!"

Round Seven: Fiery Almok rides south,
PC Hraken strikes the last goblin running to the temple then bounces his dagger off of him,
1 Goblin spins from the force but continues across the wreakage of the statue dropping by her tribe's women,
PC Oloric moves and casts missing the goblin as he ducks behind the wreakage,
PC Malik moves up beside the entrance to the temple and waits. Malik knows the temple well,
3 Acolytes hide One at least peaks back at the sanctuary and thinks about resisting,
Wordwise moves south,
Ogre crushes statues in the room calling,"Come one little men, come and die by Telbert's club",
PC Paelias move and casts his ray of frost strikes the shaman's newly formed wings.
PC Izzy shoots missing the shaman and moves to the south skylight. Looking in he sees the ogre crushing things and the goblins chittering and giggling holding firepots. "Okay on count to 10. 1..2..3..5..7..6..2..3..9..7.. wait i sayz sevenz already.",
1 Goblin Shaman spins out of control with the frosted wings. She bounces off the roof and lands on the ground 30 feet below,
PC Fargrim runs catching up with Paelius,
PC Blackarrow cruises past both of them. Fargrim swears the archer leaves a cloud of dust,
3 Goblins toss firepots covering the temple entrance in sticky flame. The bounce happily toward the doors of the sanctuary singing
"Humies have a little town!
We will burn it burn it down!
Burn it down! Burn it down!
Burn it down to the ground!
Kill the people!
Slay their beasts!
Take their things!
Eat their meats!"

Malik looks in and see's the lone goblin closest to the door. He charges with both axes screaming to his god. He chops once, twice with both axes and the pitiful creatures falls. (15 attack for 8 damage and 24 attack for 5 damage). He will use the rest of his movement to move back to the door as far as possible and around it if possible depending how far he is from said goblin. "Who's next to meet my blades? They are thirsty".
Oloric moves 30' south east again. (Hopefully he can see through the doors?). He fires a bolt of fire at the ogre "Die you oaf!" (Nat 20 = 26. Is that double extraordinary success? 9 damage. Second attack is 16 attack with 7 damage. Third if possible is 16 attack with 6 damage).

[OOC note: I thought the goblin shamans were AC 13? That last hit shoulda just tagged him, shouldn't it? S'no big, at least he's out of the air.]
Issarian smoothly loads his shiny new hand crossbow and fires down into the temple from his new vantage point, aiming for the singing goblins.
[Rules adjudication question: I'm shooting at the goblins that're headed for the sanctuary; I got a 20 total on my first attack roll, so that's an exceptional success, yeah? And the next roll was a 21 total; does that roll over into another exceptional success? If so the next roll was a 22 (hey, where the hell were these rolls a couple of rounds ago?), so uh, how far does this keep going? Also, do I get Sneak Attack on all of those, or just the first one? Dam rolls: 1+3, 4+4, 4+6, respectively.]
EDIT: [Hokay, per GM adjudication that's just the first two attacks happening, and the second one's not a sneak attack, so let's just load that 1+3 and 4 into the same goblin, shall we? Say, the one closest to the door? Figures I'd lose the roll with the highest damage.]

There is a big sticky flaming floor of goo in the way of the entrance. Malik could go around the statue next to him and through the stained glass window with a dc10 athletics roll to shatter it. Then close on and kill the goblin. Oloric moves 30' south east again. (Hopefully he can see through the doors?). He fires a bolt of fire at the ogre "Die you oaf!" (Nat 20 = 26. Third if possible is 16 attack with 6 damage).No problem the doorway is open and the ogre is huge.IZZY You only receive exceptional success on the first attack roll. The rest of the attacks follow normal rules. Sneak attack I believe is once per round though I may be thinking of another edition for that ruling. The flying goblin was spinning wildly out of control when he froze him so I made him a little harder to hit. He hit a roof and fell 30 feet so we can put an crossbow bolt in him and make him extra dead. |

Seeing the goblin shaman fall, Hraken races to the north side of the building and fires a bolt at the winged abomination. (21 attack, 8 damage) To ensure the creature does not try to fly away again, he flings his remaining dagger at the dying creatures neck. (19 attack, 6 damage)
OCC: I would like to position Hraken as close to one of the window as possible.
Paelias: Maybe you could fire your freeze ray at the goblins with the firepots and prevent them from lighting them?

"I don't think that would work; it would be much better to shoot a flaming arrow into their cart with fiery ammunition," Paelias answers.
Paelias invokes another icy ray and directs it at one of the goblins who're lobbing fire pots.
OOC: attack roll 12+5= 17. damage: 3 + movement -10'.

Sneak attack is once per turn. So he can only do one BUT if he gets an attack of opportunity he can do sneak again because its on someone else's turn (if he has advantage, etc that would allow sneak)

OOC: I'll take caboose position again.
Between the great distance and the flaming barrier, Blackarrow doubts he can get a clean shot in, so he redoubles his efforts on his sprint. Unfortunately, he can't keep up his prior breakneck pace, and only moves half as swiftly as before. "Blast it, I'm really not in the shape I used to be."
Athletics Check: 11. So he only gets 60ft east with the move and dash.

Round Eight: Fiery Almok rides Wordwise.
PC Malik shatters the window spins and charges the single goblin killing the beast.
1 Goblin Dies under Malik's axe,
PC Hraken rushes to the north side of the temple. He downs the shaman and then sees through a small open window a goblin is racing across a living quarters and chopping at a door leading to the back of the temple.
PC Izzy fires on the first goblin heading to the south door killing the already injured beast. He then places a second bolt in the second goblin south.
3 Acolytes 2 block doorways and the third is somewhere in the temple.
Wordwise runs more
Ogre sees the nice shiny paladin and decides he needs a few more dents in his armor. He lumbers forward and swings his church pew. It smashes off the Paladin (hit 19, 13 damage).
PC As Oloric runs forward he see the Ogre lumber into sight and strike his friend. He fire one bolt of fire after another each striking the Ogre. (23 damage)
PC Paelius runs he does not have a target to fire upon. looking at the temple he sees the south side has a large stained glass window and a smaller open window.
1 Goblin Shaman Extra dead by Hraken.
PC Fargrim runs like the wind keeping up with the long legged elf and whatever is behind the Blackarrow's mask.
PC Blackarrow runs side by side with the others.
2 Goblins The one to the south tries to throw a knife at Izzy and it doesn't even make the 30 feet to the roof. The second goblin is chopping the door in the north room with a crude axe.
