Paelias sees an unconscious or slain guard lying near the temple and decides to investigate. After a short investigation, Paelias says: "well, he doesn't need those anymore; thanks buddy!" He takes a longbow and a quiver with arrows from the man, moving towards the open window next.
OOC: Investigation roll 16+5 = 21. Found and took a longbow with a quiver with 15 arrows.

The already wounded avenger drops to the ground like a tree trunk from the ogres strike and lays unmoving. (1st death save is successful at least. A 13 roll)
Oloric, knowing an Ogre might crush him next pulls out a large diamond. He speaks words of power and the tip of his staff alights in flame. Pointing it at the ogre the orb speeds straight into his chest. (22 attack roll with double extraordinary success. 3d8= 18).
Not finished, Oloric lobs two bolts of fire at the ogre. (20 attack and 11 attack totals for 8 and 8 damage each).

"Hey, other people, with the fighting and the helping! Yay cooperation!" Izzy mutters to himself, as he loads and fires his new hand crossbow at the ogre. And utterly whiffs, yet again. [Attack roll total: 9] "Eep, I hope nobody saw that."

Can Fargrim tell if one can climb in through the small open window Paelias is going for? If so, Fargrim moves towards it following Paelias, crossbow ready. (What can one see when looking inside, is it the main hall?)
OOC: I ask before taking my action, because there seem to be other rooms from looking at the map
If the window seems too small to climb through, Fargrim says "Stand back, lads, I'm gonna find us a way in!", moves towards the stained glass window, protects his face with his arm and slams the window with his mace.

Fargrim would be able to fit in. It is the southern room to the side of the sanctuary. A acolyte is holding the door closed as a goblin is trying to push through the door from the sanctuary. He can also take out the stained glass.

OOC: OK, I'll take out the stained glass window, since I don't wanna put the acolyte in danger (assuming I can see into the small window and break the stained glass at the same time).
As Fargrim destroys the window, he wonders if the stained glass depicted any sort of symbolic imagery of sacred value.

Blackarrow moves northwards to put the flaming sticky wall of fire between himself and the Ogre, making sure the direct path between them wouldn't get the Ogre within striking distance of his allies. He fires an arrow with no chance to hit, but it does get the Ogre's attention. Blackarrow calls out a challenge "Come Ogre! You're not going to hide in that church while I'm out here, are you!? Face me coward!"
As he yells, Blackarrow thinks to himself Let's hope that this Ogre's as dumb as I hope and runs into its allies' own sticky, fiery trap. Otherwise, either the paladin or myself isn't surviving much longer.
Deception Roll: 20.

Round Nine: Fiery Almok rides his wand held high, PC Oloric sees his friend in trouble and blasts the Ogre over and over with his arcane fire. PC Blackarrow fires his bow races toward the edge of the flames and taunts the Ogre., PC Izzy completly misses the Ogre from his perch on the roof, 3 Acolytes 2 hold the doors from the goblins as the other one is somewhere, Wordwise pours it on the dragonborn is exhausted but makes it to the corner of the temple, The Ogre looks at the archer with murder in his eyes. He tosses the pew across the fiery ground almost hitting Black Arrow with it. He stomps down the pew pulling his great club from his back and swings. His first blow smashes into the half elf (26 to hit, but only 1 on the damage roll so 5 damage) his second blow goes wild in his lust to kill the archer. Fiery unleashes an ball of fire at the Ogre and it is consumed in flames. The creature falls from the pew into the sticky fire on the ground completing his death. "Am I late?" Fiery asks. "My steed was quite slow." "When i.. can breath...I'm killin you," Wordwise states shrugging the halfling off his back. The red robed halfling lands lightly,"You would have to catch me round rump." PC Paelius finds a bow and arrows and moves to the outside wall of the temple, PC Fargrim makes his own door through the stained glass window of Magnus. Shocked the Acolyte releases the door he was holding and spins at Fargrim, PC Malik lays dying, PC Hraken fires his crossbow into the window catching the goblin in the skull and pinning his dead form to the doorway, 1 Goblin pushes through the door that is no longer held and sees the Acolyte back just waiting for his blade. He stabs him deep dropping the acolyte then notes the angry dwarf standing to the other side. Round 10: Slaughter rule! Fargrim moves over the acolytes body and calls for vengeance as he shatters the goblin with his blow. The crushed blob on the floor burst blood and gore in all directions like a morbid pinata. You are out of combat. An Acolyte and Marik are dying. Wordwise just feels like he is dying from the run. Attachments:

Issarion looks north for a second, trying to spot the flying ogre. How far has he gotten? [Perception total: 12]
[OOC area check: you said the temple's about 30 feet tall, yeah? Is there a way for Issarion to drop down into the main chamber without breaking a leg? Like, a tall pew or something to land on?]

"Fargrim, did you have to destroy that beautiful stained glass window? Don't you appreciate an art work when you see one? I suspect you were carried away by your battle fervor. You'd better apologize to the acolytes, for we need their help yet. And then we need to do something about the fire: we can't let the building burn to the ground."
Paelias asks the acolyte inside: " where can we find water to extinguish the fires?"

Oloric makes his way on the scene. "Someone should probably pull that pew off the knight. Probably too dumb to know it was supposed to kill him! My name is Oloric, how can I help? I'm good at making fire but not so good at stopping it."
"Are all the goblins dead here? We should probably chase the rest down or check other areas of the city. I am glad to help if the price is right."
Malik will stabilize on his own unless healed, etc by someone who can help sooner.

Fargrim pats elf in the arm, relieved the battle seems to be over. "Well, Paelias, how was I supposed to know we were actually winning the battle inside the temple? Rest assured I'm not an adept of wanton destruction! Anyway, art can be mended, but lost lives cannot. Not without some quite legendary magic, in any case!" Fargrim looks at the bleeding acolyte on the floor and kneels beside him, apllying some impromptu healing (Spare the Dying). "Though I'll admit, while I was indeed going for surprise, this did not have the effect I expected. I hope I can make up for this poor fellow... there. Let's see who else we can help."
Fargrim goes through the door where the goblin came in from and sees the remains of the bloddy fighting in the main hall of the great temple. After a quick search he finds a knight with a faint pulse, not beyond saving (OOC: Spare the Dying Cantrip. Malik is stabilized, still unconscious but not in danger anymore).

Izzy can grab a wall sconce for the unlit torches and swing down easily. (Automatic). Looking north he can't see where the ogre ended up on the thick smoke billowing out of parts of the town and the darkness of the early evening sky.
Fargrim stabilizes both the Acolyte and Malik.
The second Acolyte still standing directs those who will follow to a well just north of the temple. He begins to fill jugs sitting nearby to start a bucket brigade. Other bucket brigades has formed at the smoldering theater and other buildings in the city.
he last Acolyte has a bag slung across her shoulder. She moves from the High Priest who she cries for as she moves away. To the acolyte who she pours a potion into his mouth. She offers one to Fargrim for the Paladin. (cure light wounds).
The rangers can estimate that the goblins would be at least 200 yards south somewhere in the winding streets of the city.

In passing to the well to the north, Paelias takes a moment to look at the goblin shaman's equipment (the one who tried to fly away but fell to the ground near the temple). If he has a scroll or book with him (in his backpack or something), Paelias takes it from him and puts it in his backpack, before continuing towards the well and helping to put out the fires at the temple.
OOC: take 10 on investigation roll to find any book or scroll on the shaman, result 15.
