Characters Present: Gorak (Rodian driver and commander), Kl'aal (Defel forward scout), Makio (Twi'Lek Guide),PD13 (Pit Droid Mechanic/ Hero), Lowggrr (Wookie Muscle), Fang (Cathian more muscle), Samarion (Starwolf even more muscle), Jitonne (human female Gunner), and Lodor (Twi'Nautolan Gunner).
Equipment: SRV slow (speed 2) but well armed and armored with 2 medium laser cannons.1 Shoulder Launched Ion cannons (Lowggrr),1 PLX-2 PML (in SRV),1 CSPL-12 Projectile Launchers (in SRV),5 Frag grenades,5 smoke grenades, 1 Splat Grenades, 1 stun grenade, 2 incendiary grenades (most grenades carried by PD13). 3 fishermen nets, ropes and hooks, lunch for the trip.
Mission:Shut down the gas line, get power online, defuse any bombs in the region, capture/elimination of animals from zoo.

At least while in the SRV there is less chance of people noticing me. Gorak makes a mental note to restrict the amount of weapons and grenades used on missions. Might even restrict any weaponry to be used only on command authorization. Really dislike the idea of using Space trooper armor and having anyone hop in and use them.
The matter at hand is more to his liking. As the SRV comes near to the power station he scouts out the area for likly ambushes and traps. "Hey droid, get on the sensors and look for locations where the gas leaks are coming from. If we cannot patch the leaks we are going to have to cut the flow at the nearest valve."
"Everyone, be on the lookout for tracks made by the animals."
"Makio, work with the Droid and lets take care of the gas leak fist, then the bombs. We can worry about the animals and the power last"

You enter the area from the northwest road. The road has a dirt access road leading to the gas plant. You know that their are buildings with leaks all through the city. It is the warmer season so none will freeze without heat so Krause and city leaders think it is best to shut it all down rather than continue to have fires breakout and buildings explode.
Kl'aal is first to catch the scent of blood, Nexu blood, and then the smell of Rancor. He signals for the SRV to stop from his position ahead of the vehicle.
Makio climbs to the top between the gunners and uses her Macros to spot the head of a Rancor just poking above the large crater in the road. Scanning the area she sees a group of Nexu are prowling along the monorail tracks near the crater.
Your SRV is 60m away from the Rancor and it is so intent on it's food it has not noticed them.
The Nexu on the monorail tracks are 20m from the ground and 80m from you. They have noticed your truck and a group of them are prowling west down the track toward you. The easily jump the broken areas of the track. The track is at it's closest 60m from your SRV. You count a score of Nexu in the area or various sizes. This is not counting the one the Rancor is eating.

Maiko drops down and relays what she saw to the rest of the group.
"I don't think we're gonna get to that gas plant without makin' a mess. We don't want to get caught between those Nexu and a rancor. Been there, done that. I can tell you, it doesn't end well. The rancor hasn't noticed us yet though, and it would be ideal if we could keep it that way. Anybody got any brilliant ideas?"

Thirteen uses his olfactory sensor to track his way to the gas leak. PD13 has the utility maps from the zoning department on his HUD in green wireframe and a side by side display of the gas concentration in ppm from the sensor. He lights up the network ports for the shut off valves on the map too. Thirteen works his way towards the leak site...moving very quickly. The leak is coming from the gas plant which he identifies as a hazardous situation! HAZMAT subroutines initiated....Slackers whistles, Hey look at the banthas over there! Thirteen goes to a nearby computer port and attempts to activates the emergency shut-off procedure for the gas lines in the area then he notifies the fire department, Health & Safety, and Maintenance. The gas plants emergency evacuation Klaxons sound...banthas are startled!
Mechanics: PD13 has more information about the city utilities than the zoning commissioner due to his triumph and new friends he met in city zoning system. There are utility tunnels, maintenance cribs, schematics, PM manuals, operations manuals, emergency procedures.....ect..
Computers check: This is for PD13's cool HUD. Three advantages that he uses towards a boost for a mechanics check to activate the emergency shut down the gas using the gas plant's emergency procedure on file.
Mechanics check: Gas shut off check. 1 Triumph, 2 Successes, 2 Advantages! PD13 uses his advantages to find a good port where he can see the banthas.

"Hopfully the rancor won't be hungry after it's nexu snack. But both the Nexu and Rancor are stalking predators, they just have not established their territory so likely EVERYTHING will be considered a threat, including us. I do not want to deal with the rancor, and those Nexu are just as bad now that they have the high ground. I think I am going to try and put the Racor between us and the Nexu."
Going to try and carefully, as to not disturb the rancor, go offroad head towards the Gas plant between the Rancor and the Banthas.
Making an opposed pilot(planetary) roll against the Rancors preception, giving myself a boost die since it's eating. ... one success
"Keep an eye on those nexu, if they look like they are about to jump, shoot them"

Lodor grins at the chance to finally show off his skills after days sitting around on the Aegis. He mutters to himself "Alright Lodor, it's time to show the crew why you're here (and maybe impress the two fine young ladies here too)." He then realizes he said that out loud, hopes nobody noticed, and goes back to focusing on the imminent threat.
Lodor gets the cannon ready to go, and will fire if the nexu try to attack.

OOC: Getting to the Gas Plant will take a little time for PD13. Gorak pilots the SRV-1 off road moving toward the gas plant but at a equal distance between the Rancor and the Banthas. The Nexu are staying on he tracks and keeping their distance. Makio climbs down from the roof back into the bed of the truck that is slightly crowded with Kl'aal, Samarian, Lowggrr, Fang, the equipment and ... Hey, Where is PD13? She pulls up to look over the edge and sees PD13's antenna bobbing through the high grass towards a break in the wall around the Gas Plant.  |

PD13 makes it through the hole in the wall around the continues his run through the yard to the Gas Plant. Halfway their he sees a group of small creatures in the shadows of the building. They are gathered around something. They turn as he approaches and PD13 see long floppy furry ears, a long fuzzy tail and a huge pointy toothed smile. When they turn he also notices they where feeding on a humaniod that may have been a Rodian. It is hard to tell with most of the organics consumed. The pack races toward him smiles becoming large open mouths full of fangs.  The SRV pulls up to the wall and from the gunnery posts Lodor and Jitonne can see PD13 and what Jitonne recognizes as Fwits. The wall is just in the way of the guns and you can not get a shot off. The gate is behind the crater with the Rancor in it. A few Nexu have jumped from tracks and are prowling on the ground. OOC: I think PD13 has become that little boy in Walking Dead who always wanders into trouble.  |

Is the gate closed? And if not, how difficult would it be to blast a hole in the nearby wall to get in?

Making a survival check to see if, or how, we could drive the Banthas towards the south and the Nexu. I guess average difficulty (2Y1Gvs 2P = 1 success 1 Advantage

Thirteen sees the cute furry Fwits and continues moving quickly towards the computer port...his hardened alloy casing will not provide any nutrition for the organic creatures. However, there is a finite probability that they could slow him down, so Thirteen tosses them a live stun grenade to snack on before they get to close. The zoo brochure says that the Fwits like to eat snacks thrown to them by zoo goers. Slacker bets on a stimulated response from the creatures...Eat that!
Mechanics: Light ranged check to toss stun grenade with a bonus for advanced study of zoo creatures from the zoo brochure: 3 successes.
