Krudar sees the lovely face move in, he can not help but want to do everything in his power to protect her.
"Thanks darling, they are a tough ship that can take some abuse but not much in way of long range fire power, they have some close in weapons for fighter defense and a possible warhead launcher and tractors on some models. The real power they have is the several squadrons for TIE's and bombers they have. Seen them operate some capable shuttles as well in boardings and troops lift. The tactic I have seen most often is drop in spit out some sith spawn fighters then pop back into hyperspace. Tell the young XO so you can look as smart as you are beautiful. My Turbo can punch trough its thick armor, if it is still there when we arrive, and the bombers are the biggest threat they carry to our ship."
(Krudar will try a warfare roll as well to see if he knows anything else)

Jessa looks to Slyer, "The Imperial Escort Carrier is a hold over from the clone wars pushed out of mainline military service to the backwater sectors. It is a delivery system for TIE fighters and not made to be a front line combat vessel. It is comparable to the FarStar but not superior and our main guns pack a little more punch than the imperials."

Errol Dannarius breaks atmosphere with a last look back at Domaz. It was such a beautiful city in his youth. A place of wealth and comfort unsurpassed by only a couple of places in the Kathol Sector. Tears fall down his weathered lined face as he checks that his wingmen are following.
"Rowrrrgggrrraa," His Wookie gunner states feeling his sadness.
"Its okay Chak. We will keep her safe, or die trying." He and the other Guardian squad members arc to the FarStar.

"bbwwweeetttt," Flynn bleats as his cannons slam into the Imperial forces. "You shoot pretty good," Scimitar states as he flies through the clouds of smoke and ash. "For an old rust bucket." Mera calls over the comms,"Scimitar keep your distance we have the range advantage. Stop giving them a chance to hit you." "I have to give them some chance," Scimitar smiles as he loops back into the sky beyond the range of the imperial speeders. The outriggers are making short work of the Imperial Speeders. Just the overwhelming show of force Kaiya was looking for.

Slyer tells the crew if we can get to the carrier in time we will hit it hard as we can. Be prepared to engage TIE's when it departs, priority will bombers.

The X-Wings can be within firing range of the jump point when the ship drops into real space. The FarStar can only get halfway there and the Defenders Guardian squad will only be half way there. Do you want the X-Wings to stay back with you or go forward and be ready to hit when it arrives?

The Bad Omen statistics are on the website page dailydoserpg.com/mission_one_x-wing.htm all the way at the bottom of the page. Jessa and the library data from the FarStar would have this information. From reading about the captain of the vessel and from past military uses of the Imperial Assault Carrier (Slyer's warfare check) you are pretty sure he will not want to attack with the Bad Omen. He will want to attack with the TIEs and not endanger the ship. Remember except for Proton Torpedoes X-Wings can't really ding the hull of a capital ship alot. Targeting external systems (Turrets, Shield generators, hanger bays, and sensor dishes) are the way to hurt a capital ship with a starfighter. These systems are only Sil 2 so your fighters will not have the bonus to attack them.

OCC How hard is it to launch torpedoes from X-wings early? Have code programed to pick up ship if we know it or lock on it from FarStar? If there is a type of recognition code for a TIE bomber that would be great as well. If that is possible X-wings can launch, then come to hold half way so we hit them unified. If it is not possible we need to build a mass together to prevent what ever they spit out from reaching the planet.

Make an astrogation check to place 1 proton torpedo from each x-wing right a the spot. You can use just one check per squad with it linked 3 so if you get enough advantages you hit with all 4 torps. The check is a 3d check. This is of course if the X-Wings are at the point. If they are 450,000km away with the FarStar this ambush protons can not happen.
You will be able to ID TIE bombers easily they have 2 eyeballs and a different scanner shape.
Lilith notes that the Aegis has not contacted the FarStar about the Captain's arrival.
Rorn on sensors notes that the Aegis has moved into the mass of freighters leaving the planet. ------
Noell's squad approaches the area in the system where he remembers them reverting from hyperspace when returning from Kolatil II. He calls into the comm, "Farstar Command, we need some intel out here. Any information on where we can expect the Bad Omen?"
While he waits for a response, he calls back to his astromech. "Krayt, we are going to need all systems at peak efficiency." Realizing that Krayt will be able to respond to any damage to the ship faster than he can order, he decides to take a highly unlikely plan. "I will need to concentrate on offense, so I will need you to handle the defenses of our little fighter. As long as you do not get in my way of flying or using the weapons, I give you authorization to take whatever action you determine is needed to keep the ship flying. Just keep me informed of what you are doing." --- "So are the X-Wings going or staying?" Thyte looks to Slyer in the command chair."They go you have a big gamble but big rewards. They stay we play it safe but in th elong run have possibly more TIEs to deal with."

Yes Thyte I am making the call, either we fight a bunch of TIE's or even more TIEs, either way the ship is coming and rather take advantage of getting some surprise on them if we do nothing we fight a bunch of TIE's if we succeed we fight less, it is worth the risk. (if you want Slyers astro it is 2G, 1Y with the talent galaxy mapper, or leadership if they need encouragement I am sure the R2's in the X-wings, on ship and Thyte could do better, I am OK if you make Slyer do it)
Noell, the Dark omen is inbound, 5 minutes and some distance from the planet. Did freighters launch with the Aegis?
Lilith get me through to the Aegis now.
Whose freighters Rorn? House of Shador?

The freighters are a mix of ships who wanted off world. You have the three that came to the planet during the adventure and ships from all of the houses. It is about 40 freighters from all over the planet that are running. The Aegis is in a group that came up from Domaz.

OOC: Noel Ciro would roll the astrogation for his squad and Keeg for his squad. You would have 8 proton torpedoes waiting at the jump point trying to go off as the Bad Omen arrives.
Rorn looks up with concern from her post,"The Aegis was in the group of freighters now it has gone off the scans. It's power indicators are dead and it is not transmitting a transponder reading anymore. At the point it is at it will soon re-enter the atmosphere and without power burn up on re-entry." The FarStar is 450,000km (10 minutes)from the planet.
The X-Wings send their torpedoes as the Imperial Assault Carrier appears in real space and... (roll please).

As Keeg gets the orders from Ciro about using the torpedoes in a rather unorthodox manner, he make sure to turn off the sending of his comm before uttering his favorite curse word "MAMMALS!"
"Hummer, this is a stupid idea. A waste of good torpedoes, and nothing more then blind luck. Much rather just do torpedoe runs on the frelling thing. But we at least have to try and attempt this. I have no idea the bad omens incoming vector to properly plot this out. Going to be nothing but a huge WAGgy mess (wild arse guess). YOu do the math, while I try to use my super Duros spacer instincts to figure this stuff out"
Hummer replies with a few whines
"Yea, work on solving the square of a negative number on the next mission... might be easier"
Mechanics: Keeg is having hummer help him with a skilled assist (using Hummers 3 ranks of Astrogration with Keegs 3 intellect) Rolled 1 success, and 2 advantages (that includes the Duros bonus)
"Keeg to squadron, here is my WAGgy plot to attempt this torpedoe mine field, do your best, and May the Force be with us"

The Bad Omen appears as Keeg's squads has 2 proton torpedoes explode onto its hull. (after soak 2 Capital damage total to the ship, just 73 left to blow up the hull. or you can do 1 Capital damage and roll for a critical hit). You are also close enough to target a ship external system to attack in your next attacks. You have surprise and a first free move as their systems adjust to real space and they get shields up. So hit fast, hard, and choose your targets well.

This is a system view with big square equal to 1,000 km. It gives a general idea of where the ships are located. Each big square is 1km, each small square is 100m. The Bad Omen is right in the middle and can not fire for the first 10 seconds (round) of the engagement.
