Walking through the Bridge on the way to the Captain's office Lilith looks up and begins to wave when she sees Thyte's look and decides against it. Krudar expects the meeting in the conference room between the Shield Ops and the Captain's Quarters and instead finds the Captain sitting on sectional in his quarters.
Like the rest of crew Ciro's face looks drawn and his eyes red rimmed and dark. "Corporal I have been hearing reports of your work in the gunnery bays and would like to congratulate you. I know it is difficult when given a duty that puts you in a position over crewmen who outrank you and you have done well. I wanted to talk about this and the granting of computer and communications access to your unit. For the rank I would like to offer you a commission as a Warrant Officer. This will not place you in the ships command structure, but will increase your rank to above the other members of your unit. You will be required to attend command meetings as an adviser. It is above the regulation standard rank given to a new recruit, but in my estimation your skills place you in the professional category. You are a doctor of gunnery and I would like to give you same rank as a doctor or scientist receives when enlisting." He takes a drink of what looks like brandy and offers the decanter and glass to you. "Now on access for your unit, my only question is do you trust them. Would you trust this group with secrets that could be life or death. If the answer is yes, I will have the access granted immediately. I do trust you, and trust your judgement. I just need to know if you trust them."

"Sir, I am humbled by your assessment of my crew, yes I trust my crew and think they should have equal access as the prior NR crew. I would be honored to be Warrant Officer for gunnery, and look forward to it." (thinking of the pay increase as well his ambition).
Kudar picked up the glass then his ideas got the better of him. "Might I suggest Sarkin for Sgt as well? She is one of the best gunners I have seen, we have two ensigns that can barely hit the dark side of a moon. That would put a Sgt in both dorsal and ventral to even things out."
Kudar knew he was going out on a short air tank but he had so many ideas on how to help. He swallowed his duros impulse to stay his tongue and the entire drink went down his throat as well. Before the skipper could even reply.
"Sir, The crew liked the the mini test before and I know the NR does not have a lot of credits but there are some incentives you could give out. Sleeping arrangements are the biggest complaint I have heard along with CPU access. I have an idea for a triple bunk that will fit in a double bunk space, I can run it to engineering at next meeting but thought you should know. Another is maybe more bunks in a hold? I am not an engineer sir but have served on a few ships." Kudar was on a roll now, must of been the liquor. "The chow is a common complaint as it is on most vessels and you have a few budding chefs on board, little competition there might help as well, could rotate by department I have seen it work before with department ran meal once every four or five days."
Kudar had never been one to mince words but to the skipper and things not about gunnery? He noticed a slight smile on the skippers face so he continued.
"Sir, I have seen CO's hand out port passes to a few of the crew when they did well, it was mostly on uniform and bunk inspections but you could make the idea your own on what you think the ships focus should be. The computer access is another you can hand out for good performance." Kudar thought for a moment, had that been the captain's intent all along?
Kudar regained his composure, "Sorry to be so forward sir, I will try to keep my insights to gunnery from now on."
Occ: The CPU's are for information the ship has and maybe some internet like feeds, no outside transmission? I would guess that the ship has certain stand alone or segmented off CPUs to handle inventory, status, mission and intel or other things the crew does not really need to see? Just looking to get what would be a standard access that NR crew has.

OOC: Comms and CPU have different layers of data that can be allowed for access.
Level 1- Comms: Only internal ships communication, CPU: Only data access necessary for duty functions. (This is the new recruits current level) Level 2- Comms: Internal Ship Communication, receiving external communication, sent communications are reviewed before sending. CPU:May download library data and social information, may not upload or have 2 way data communication. Level 3: Comms: ISC, send and receive real space transmissions if on situation code green. CPU: May research outside holonet sources and send and recieve data communications when situation code green. (New Republic Crewmen level) Level 4: Comms: ISC, Real Space transmissions, use of Hyperspace Transmitter when authorized. CPU: Access to Hyperspace Data Transmission, access to non duty related departments. (New Republic Officer Level) Level 5: Open access to comms and CPU without restriction when in situation code green (New Republic Command Officers and Computer Techs.)
When you are in a Code Amber or Code Red all incoming and outgoing data and communications are reserved for duty usage only.
BIC: "Sir, I am humbled by your assessment of my crew, yes I trust my crew and think they should have equal access as the prior NR crew. I would be honored to be Warrant Officer for gunnery, and look forward to it."
"Excellent I'll have the Quartermaster process the request and it will be effective immediately."
"Might I suggest Sarkin for Sgt as well? She is one of the best gunners I have seen, we have two ensigns that can barely hit the dark side of a moon. That would put a Sgt in both dorsal and ventral to even things out."
"A counter balance to Edly could be a good idea. Speak to her about her readiness for the responsibility. She is coming from a being in the midst of the Clone Wars 30 years ago and now wakes up in the New Republic. I'm not sure even she understands yet where her loyalty lies. I put her in weapons ops because she is one of the best we have but she has not even officially joined the New Republic Navy. When she is ready to make the vow we can place her at the Sergeant rank given her previous experience and rank. She needs to ready though."
Kudar knew he was going out on a short air tank but he had so many ideas on how to help. He swallowed his duros impulse to stay his tongue and the entire drink went down his throat as well. Before the skipper could even reply.

"We have a number of crew who are working on alternate bunk situations. From making the bridge bunks a more permanent area to what they are calling "Gunthar Town" on your dorsal weapons deck. I think we should see that problem find a solution by growing out to former storage levels, and areas formally used for entertainment when the Hutts owned this ship. We are lucky to have a larger vessel like the FarStar. Could you see trying the fit our crew a little CR-90 Corvette. We would be sleeping on top of each other. The Chow was not a high priority when we had just 48 hours to get a crew together. Chef Gorb came with Brophar's recommendation and makes me question if Brophar has taste buds" Ciro smiles and takes another sip,"Once we make it through this mission I think we can make the competition happen. I will speak with Loh'Khar and see what logistics can do to make this a success. Knowing Loh'Khar he will also find a way to make a little off of the competition. I also know that Private Diaggarr and Rorn are introducing our Gammorian chef to something called the vegetable.'
Kudar had never been one to mince words but to the skipper and things not about gunnery? He noticed a slight smile on the skippers face so he continued.

"You are a part of command now and being part of command means keeping an eye on the whole ship. If you have ideas bring them to the weekly command meetings and feel free to express them. With your new rank your Comms and Data level will be raised to level 4 and I will leave it you to determine who in your section should be levels 1 through 3 in Comms and Data. Making them a part of Gunnery discipline program is up to you. It is sometimes easier to get the Bantha moving with a carrot than a stick. Just don't forget to have the stick ready if needed."
Ciro's table flickers into a holographic image. He puts down the drink a turns to business. "We have about 8 hours before we drop into real space. Reports from Kaiya and Noell state they have secured the jump point and left it guarded by TIE Fighters that have been taken by the Kolatill Defense Force. I'm sending the transponded codes for those 6 TIEs. Please make sure we get IDs on any TIEs before firing. It would be a PR nightmare if we took out a KDF ship with friendly fire. Have your crew ready for a fight but make sure they don't literally jump the gun. Any ship that fires on our vessels or our allies you have a Fire At Will order active, be ready."
He stands and hands you a box. Opening it you see the Warrent Officer's shoulder bars and plaque pips. "You are dismissed Chief Krudar." He stands at attention awaiting your first salute as an Officer.

Chief Kudar snaps his salute, "Thank you sir". "You know first salute tradition is I owe you a bottle sir". "I will make sure the guns have the codes from the bridge, good day sir."
Kudar cuts his salute and about faces. Leaves the captain to his business.
Kudar strides into the bridge making sure to get eye contact with a certain twi'lek.
Bridge request codes be given to guns on the TIE's in our upcoming mission. Once done depart for gunnery bay Dorsal.
At the bay, Kudar sees his young ops human Tanner in to some fantasy drum beat and has the power droid dancing with him. Dorsal fall in, Kudar commands.
Seeing his crew he explains the new rank and billet along with telling Sarkin about chance for Sgt but would like here and rest to access CPU.
Sarkin logs on and is lost in research on her old unit, family, friends and events of the past few decades. Tanner finds some music in the ship logs, screams out hey the classics good start!
The large cyborg is not as happy as he looks for any information on who fitted him and is not having any luck, Kudar notes this and tells him if he wants to ask the Dr's questions he can.
Kudar takes up his post as the others are busy. He sees the work on the deception gun is done and keys his comm.
"Ventral, this is chief Kudar, We have codes of TIEs in the zone we will be approaching in a few hours. Ensure all have them entered in Ops and guns. Oh and clean up that jawa junkyard you call a gunnery bay, chief Kudar out."
Kudar thinks of going to the officers lounge when his shift is up and how he is going to get a bottle of good stuff for the Captain.

Lilith looks up from her comms and does about the best looking salute you have ever seen,"Go to see you Chief."
Thyte just looks over and does an eye roll.
Edly response is the best at seeing Krudar with Warrant Officer bars he just stared and said nothing at all.

Kudar looks at the design from an old file in his data pad from his days on a nebbie. He hopes Engineering can use it. He runs the quick math in his head an knows it will not be enough to cure the shortage but is a start. The spacer in him only knows how to keep improving and increasing perfection, that is how his people conquered the stars and invented FTL travel. With his reports done he gets ready, creases, shine, and with a nod to Sarkin he departs with a mind full of thoughts. Now if he could just come to grips with the targeting on his guns. He has rotated all his crew for rest and chow before they drop in. Kudar goes down to the officer mess hour and half before the are due. His crew has all the info and are questions are flying about current and past events. Kudar only looks at threat briefs, data and mission parameters. Gunnery is his life, and he wonders about Boom as he goes into the "land of shine who have lost there mind." He hopes to get a inside deal on a bottle or two of good stuff and see a sweet face. (Occ hope the pic is viewable it is a three tier sit up bunk our Navy uses)

OOC: That is pretty cool.
Before he can leave of Engineering he receives a call from Ventral gunning. "Chief we have a situation on downside that requires your attention." Comes the voice of Ensign Gadow.
You make for the turbolifts that are crowded by the shift change. On deck 2 Lilith steps onto the lift. She looks to you and smiles,"Hey, Chief gotten used to the name yet?"
You make small talk with her noticing that everyone gets off by the Dorsal gunnery level except you are Lilith, "If your going to chew out Edly can I come observe." She wraps a arm in yours before you can say no.
Stepping off the lift Ensign Gadov greets you at the door,"We think we may have found some additional power cells in the forward hold."
You increase your step excited to have fully operational guns. You are nearly dragging Lilith beside you as you follow Andov forward to the cargo hold and then starboard. You pass between the cargo crates and then a double door is there. You know from your internal map of the ship that the bulkhead is not for many more meters. The doorway slids open at Andov's touch on a pad and within is a flood of light and color. You step from a cold storeroom to a hutt casino.
"Andov what is..."
"SURPRISE"
Laser holograms light up with Congratulations Chief Krudar. From behind the bar, sabaac tables, and stage area jump crew members with a round of clapping.
Lilith hugs you close and you are glad Duros are a shorter species and when she pulls back Edly walks from behind the bar and hands you a glass of champagne.
"Congratulations Chief." Edly says with a smile on his broad face.

Kudar is stunned. "Thanks, kind of hard for me to take all this in." "I am truly honored to have such a great ship and crew to work with." "I pity the first port we pull into with this group, well done all."
Sgt you know I have to get some reports turned in and final prep before we arrive. Make sure all are early to post. And if you do have power cells get them up to Tanner/ops so they can test them out on the R3 and EG-6 unit. Edly, I do have one more request, I need a bottle of good stuff to give the Captain if you can help with that. You have truly outdone your self here, I know this ship had history but wow, nicely done.
Lilith thank you for being here with me, you are they one person I am glad got to see me surprised. Is there anything I can do for you?

Edly hands you a bottle from the bar and says,"Now mumns the word about this place to the captain. Loh'Khar wants to introduce him to it himself. Figure this place will greatly help morale." He then goes back to regaling the crowd with how this party doesn't compare to when Captain Solo made general. Now that was a ppaaaarrrtttyyy.
Lilith leans in and whispers in your ear," When you outrank Thyte make him suffer for me."

Thyte, Kudar thinks about the bitter cyborg-armed human. How much had he suffered already? He knows what Lilith means but in his world of combat in the cold clutches of space it was different. Thyte had his respect but also his anger from time to time. No matter, he could dream of passing the human by one day.
"Edly you know how I am about honoring traditions and military protocol, from what I have seen this ship was a luxury ship at one time. It is so patch worked now i dont know if I should be on a star cruiser or a combat vessel. Thanks for the bottle. If the bridge did not want the gear that is on this ship they should have unloaded it before we left or put out guidance."
Kudar depart to the officer lounge. "Duty calls!, thank you all."
Kudar did not even know that this gear existed he had seen a few gaming stations in the berthing areas and thought it strange. Then again there were hot tubs on board and he was grateful for them, this New Republic was going take some getting used to.
Kudar finds the Captain he sheepishly hands him the bottle, "Sir, I hope to replace this with a fine bottle from Duros when we hit the first port unless you like the Corellian you had before more. Thanks again. If you have nothing further I have some prep I still need to do in the gunnery bays sir."

The Captain looks up from spread out flimisies and holomaps,"Thank you Chief." He looks at it."Not sure where you go it but my mother taught me to never look a gift dewback in the mouth."
OOC: You were not in the Officer's lounge. You were in Loh'Khar's pet project an old hutt casino level left in the lowest storage hold. He has named it the belly of the beast because of it's location. He also has not asked the Captain's permission to run a casino.

Occ; I understand and know it is in an old hold, ventral level, forward. I figure Kudar is new to officer rank, and has only been to areas outside his gunnery a time or two (as in other departments). I am playing him as he spends most time in Dorsal, some in ventral, the rear/upper hold on Dorsal level (Boom hangs there often) and common crew areas. Few trips a day to see bridge, meetings as department head (bonus for seeing Lilith) and maybe "Gammers" area for the the view of water or adjacent areas to gunnery. I would think in his mind the Captain and few others would know everything about the ship of this size they are in charge after all, he would assume with a set up so large many would know and use. Much like hottubs, gaming machines every where and tent berthing, he chalks it up to not being Duros/Core/Imperial type ship and being the new republic. I would think he knows Loh'khar is part of command crew which would only add to the legitimacy. He has seen some shady stuff with pirates, smugglers, so is not naive to non-standard ran ships. Just playing it as it is so large, many inside, officers present, command member runs and how rest of ship is that it has to be legit. Kudar competes but does not gamble (likes his money to much), did not have any gambling skills so there would have been no need for him to seek out before. I figure he has been busy with Dorsal gunnery and being the "old guard type military" would be viewed more as strictly professional. I will have him move about more now with some increased rank and need to always improve, kind of like OCD.

The Captain is coming from being a squad member in a commando unit. He has never been navy and is currently learning as he goes along (he just bought the commodore talent tree). He is actually a computer expert. He has also gone from never seeing this ship before to taking it to space in 2 days and now jumping into combat after just 5 days. There are crates no one have opened yet and most of the ship that is not critical for duty functions the Captain, First Officer, and the duty XOs (Thryte and Slyer) have never been near. So I'm sure he will get his head above water and look around one day, but right now he is focused on the bridge and surviving a possible battle with a larger ship, with more fighters, that has a fully trained crew. That worry and wondering did he send his little brother to his doom, oh and that girl he loves and will never tell (Kaiya) could be dead now also.
You know in Mass Effect Joker and Jack had the same bar somewhere on the N-7 and Commander Shepard never found it. They would have invited him, but his dancing would have embarrassed them.

Chief Kudar goes to the bridge to find Thyte. "Sir, All the codes have been given to Ventral and Dorsal for the TIE's." "I do not have control over the tractors or torpedoes so like to make sure word has gotten there as well being the new gunnery officer and all." "Any update on the ETA?" "I also had some questions on the the fire control, had an idea of a basic on/off switch or override." "I think it will help if we get in a fast moving brawl with multiple bogies. For Single ship especially at longer ranges I think the tracking will be credits for us."
"I would also like to run through some simulations of basic maneuvers we should have as a ship." "Thinking basic drills of coming out of jump. Fighters in, fighters out. Rapid deploy fighters. Initial reacts as in run or fight. Best approaches for some of likely targets." "We need to train as a crew since we are alone and unafraid in hostile territory, what do you think?"
Kudar knew the Bridge XO was not the most fun to work with but he had experience in space battles, chief was just expressing what he hoped Thyte already knew had to be done. He really wished Admetrum was here as she seemed sharp and capable.

Thyte looks to him. "I will be handling targeting of the artillery batteries. You will have a fire at will order on the guns. As to the drills that is why we have a gunnery Chief, so the Bridge XO does not need to think about that. We could link the gunnery simulation to the pilot simulators an kill 2 birds with one stone. You could get practice on fighters and they can practice attacking a capital ship. LtJg Will Synar is acting Wing Commander. You can coordinate a drill with him. ETA is 12 hours, make sure your crew gets some rest. We have no idea what we will find."
