Just thought I would make this thread to keep the main thread from getting cluttered with OOC discussion.

Oloric ok if we attack a drake or go straight for goblins first. Feel like we can take drakes "safely" being in a tower that they likely can't get to?

I think firing from above could work, but it may drain resources and put the people down below at risk early in the fight. Plus, the drakes have pretty high athletics, so they may be able to climb up fairly quickly and the towers have connected stairs too. The descriptions for each drake type mention that they can't be tamed and owners always fear them going wild for hunger or other reasons, maybe we can work off that? Maybe we distract them with some food to make sure all of us and the herbalist are safe (I don't know if she put up the shield or a goblin did, but if it's a goblin we slay, she could be in a lot of trouble), we take out the goblins, and we finish up with the drakes if we can't avoid them? I'm just hesitant to take on two CR5 beasts unless we have to.

Does Oloric have any illusion, domination, or other type spells we can use to get the drakes to turn on the goblins?

Oloric has firebolt, light, and minor illusion so we can use the minor illusion but he loses it once we rest to gain another 1st or 2nd level spell as soon as we rest. So a good time to use it before its gone.
Not sure we can turn the drakes but we could use it as a distraction somehow? Only has 30' range and can be one sound or one image

I'm still thinking we should wipe the goblins first; but we're also gonna need to take out that gnome before he can warn anybody else. Hopefully, the drakes will stay in the garden, and then we can hit them as a group.

Then let's head towards the goblins first. Some arrows from you guys on the closer guys and a well placed sleep spell from Oloric on another tower can probably take out 2 towers pretty easily. The gnome might be a problem. Malik will be charging the gate so he "might" be able to get to the gnome but i'm guessing he'll be smart enough to scram seeing us moving across the bridge.
But, if even if we alert the castle if we're able to get the whole group into the entrance without being too hurt (and all together) from the goblin archers we'll be a lot better off.

The Rage drakes can not get on the towers. After killing the goblins you could just shoot the Drakes from safety until they die. Or feed them goblin and make them your friends?

Knowing just takes the fun out of it. Oloric will lose interest in slaughtering the drakes but will not agree to feeding goblins to them either. Not that he will push hard if someone else wants to do either.

Agreed. Lets take the goblins out. Should one of us head back to help with the gnome?

How about you three go for the two towers closest to us, and I'll head down into the courtyard and take out the gnome and then head up tower three. If I can get the drop on him I should be able to take him pretty quick; I'll yell out if I need a hand. If you guys stealth up to that first tower you should be able to gank them both quick and then do a ranged hit on the second tower before the noise alerts anybody.

Let's do that. Izzy can head towards the gnome to try to take him out and Hraken, Oloric, and Blackarrow can head towards the towers. If you two hit the goblins on the first i'll sleep spell the second and we should take out 2 towers right away hopefully.

Things are looking pretty bad at the moment with the bunches of goblins plus 2 nasty drakes and 3 hobgoblins, and maybe that gnome might have some more tricks too, but could that trap-filled tower do some of the work for us? The goblins probably know where the triggers are, but I'd bet we could get to safety and then lure those drakes in. With those monsters gone, we could probably take out the gobbies, maybe even before the hobgoblins get in range to start harassing us. Plus, if anybody tried to approach the people on the tower, we could probably shove them down the tower and into the triggers, which could be a killer one-two punch. So, what does everyone think? Should we use Tower 3 as a bunker, run the drakes into their own doom, and then sort out everyone else?

Overwhelming odds is kind of a given for us to charge into a keep unfortunately. I was thinking we can defend one of the towers to take away their number advantage.
We are outclassed by the rage drakes bit with so many other enemies....yikes.
Is that tower door closeable? Maybe we can get up the ladder to escape onto level 2 to delay the drakes and hopefully slay a few more goblins to whittle down the number?

The goblins have set trails in the dirt on the floor through the trapped rooms. The pressure plates are sensitive and a good sized rock will set them off. The fire shoots about 3 to 9 feet off the ground. The torches gargoyles and the statue turns and shoot at the plate hit with a cone of fire.
