OOC: If I'd gotten a 10 or so, I woulda tried it, but in order to get a hit out of the 8, I would have to roll a 6 and a 2+,a and the way my rolls are going, I didn't wanna risk it.

Rowan lays on the ground KO'ed.
Hraken rips forward with his claws on the death cleric still laying of the ground. He grabs him and tosses him into the other. The body hits him but does not knock him down.(Athletics grab extra success throw. Attack hits (8 damage to each) thrown one is prone. The other makes his athletics check and still stands.)
The Psuedodragon rushes Wordwise. Wordwise bites it shakes it in his mouth for a while and spits the little dragon to the ground.

Malik's sword slices deeply into the Warden. He channels his last divine power into another smite adding greater force to the swing. He follows with a backhand swing as well trying to end this fight.
(Adv attack 14 and 27 with bless! So extra success. Crit damage with smite is 36! Second attack with adv is 13 and 24 for 29 damage)
Wow adv turned a miss into 2 attacks and crit on 2nd roll allowed me to roll 5,5,6,6 on dice

The paralyzed Lord Warden's body is perfectly still as the Paladin's forehand slices across his chest. His backhand takes his head off it's shoulders. The body stays in the same stiff pose as the helmeted head rolls along the ground. The Captains stop trading blows and Red stands.
"Never liked him anyway." Red murmurs.

The towns people looked stunned for a moment. Each just looking to the other. The death priests back away from Hraken with hands raised.
Finally, The High Lord moves forward,"Magnus has given his judgement with his own blade and the hand of a this paladin. We will celebrate what the Lord Warden once was while at the same realizing how far he had fallen."

Izzy looks down at the Warden's head and says "Bet you wish you'd gone for the bribe now, don't ya?" Then he turns to Malik and says "Y'know, I don't like fighting guys in plate. It's really inconvenient!" as he checks his rapier for nicks.

Cleaning and then sheathing his weapon the paladin agrees, "It works quite well. I will need to acquire some for myself!"
Looking to the High Lord Malik adds, "Magnus had spoken. I ask that you also recognize Blackarrow also played a large roll in saving Rivenroar and should be given amnesty in this matter."

Blackarrow waves off his two allies as he pulls some bandages from his pack and quickly wraps up Rowan's puncture wounds. After finishing, he carries the wizard out of the Hall towards Nodwick. He nods to the Lion and bemoans "This 'ere blighter fell on one o' those display cases and got 'imself stabbed. 'Parently he started goin' a bit off in the 'ead too, cause he started blasting me when I tried 'elping 'im. Had to give 'im a right nasty conk on the 'ead so he wouldn't get both o' us killed."
After handing off the unconscious wizard, he looks at the stage and laughs. "Look a' that, I done missed the 'ole thing! So much fer the big challenge!"
Deception: 16.

The High Lord looks to Malik,"That pardon would need to be taken up with the next Lord Warden. Captain Leia if you would kneel. Does anyone have a sword not covered with the former Lord Warden. That would be in poor taste."
Red moves forward,"Mine didn't receive much use." You note he lacks his limp.
Captain Leia kneels before the High Lord and he blesses her with the words of Magnus and gave her oath. "Lord Warden Leia please rise."
The people cheering totally miss Blackarrow's performance except for Nodwick, Wordwise, and Chetum.
"Would have to agree." Wordwise states.
"Saw him fall myself," Nodwick states.
In the courtyard, The new Lord Warden rises."Please arrest these priest of Grithstane fro questioning as well as the corpses of the Rowan and the former Lord Warden. Then Captain Codwin seal off access to the Warden's keep until we are able to search it properly." She is looking at Red with a smile.
"Yes, Sir but it is Captain Red." His face is now red as he looks to her.
"Wait,"Nodwick states."Did the Lord Warden say Red's name is Codwin? He makes fun of Nodwick and his name is CODwin."

The town becomes a rushing whirl of activity over the next few days.
The Baron gathers former families of Rivenroar and they begin to transfer with him. The Lady of the Moon (Jalissa Silverleaf) you rescued, Fiery, Wordwise, and Paelius all join the people of Rivenroar. Baron Kartenix Jario has declared that Jalissa and he will wed. The gate is a constant stream of people and good in and out of the city of Brindol. Nearly 300 people begin to move into Rivenroar and the abandoned town below. (You never left the over bridge in the valley below was a grown over town.)
They hire Hraken to search the mountains for the goblins and destroy as many as he can before they start having babies. He knows it is an impossible mission to find them all but each one destroyed is 10 less in three years, 100 less in 6 years, 1,000 less in 9 years. Embarrassed by his role on the gathering of components for the former Lord Warden he sneaks out quietly the first night and is gone to the hunt.
Alyas (hot messenger Golden Lion) returns with elves and men from Dennovar who help protect the city while Golden Lions assist with cleanup. Forces of the Dennovar Bowmen search the area and find evidence of the Hobgoblin's troop moving west toward Overlook. They stopped following them at the Skull Gorge and returned to report to the city. Alyas looks to want to join the paladin and new Warden of Rivenroar Derrius, but the dufus doesn't have the courage to ask her. Blackarrow sees his old friend looking at Alyas with love but never saying what he feels.
The new Lord Warden Leia severs the ties of the Golden Lions to the church or Grithstane and begins to contact the Church of Magnus to send more of there order to Brindol. Searching the Lord Warden Oreena's keep she finds a large collection of the potions and a log of buyers. The current batch was to be sent to Overlook for a sizable purchase price. She also finds a shrine to his wife now dead 10 years. She was killed by goblins during the first Battle of Brindol 10 years ago. His wife's body is kept in perfect stasis by the ritual of the Church of Grithstane. It seems most of his money has been spent in finding a way to return his wife from the dead. The church has allowed him to speak to her and even animated her for a time, but she was dead too long to return her to life. The room is filled with gowns, jewelery, wigs, makeup, and other gifts for his dead wife.
The Lord Warden Leia pardons Blackarrow who can rejoin the group freely, or stay hidden. Chetum becomes a hero to the ladies of Brindol and greatly enjoys his new fame.
The High Lord Jarmann, after a 10 day, has a wedding feast for the Baron and his new wife. After the wedding and the beginning of the feat the small Lord Noel weaves a drunken path to your groups table. Each of you can either be accepting or rejecting the bevy of young women who now find you charming. Lord Noel looks the girls up and down with a smile,"It's good to be a hero. Not all of the rewards can be measured in gold."

When Izzy hears about the creeptastic dead wife shrine, his only response is "How cute; now they can be dead together! It's like a fairy tale..."
During the interval, Izzy makes contact with Ned Chetum and inquires (all subtle-like) about the local professional property redistribution collaborative and its requirements. He also partakes freely in the local hero-worshipping chick extravaganza.
[OOC: So, Batman, you gonna go legal or stay street?]

Since he's not too keen on causing a scene, Blackarrow decides to head to the Warden's keep to accept Leia's pardon. Being able to just walk into a building instead of sneaking around alleyways, jumping across rooftops, and scaling towers is actually a nice change of pace for him. As he enters, he nods to her and says "Lord Warden, I came to thank you personally for your kindness. I've spent a long time working against Orenna, and he certainly made it a challenge, but now someone deserving is finally holding the title and authority of Lord Warden. Congratulations."
If he's met with no hostility, he'll take a few steps forward and add "I hope you'll take no offense to my intent to stay an independent operative, but I can assure you I will be far more willing to collaborate with your Lions. As a way to start this new alliance, I'd be happy to assist your search of this keep. After all, a wealthy man like Orenna could have untold numbers of hidden doors and compartments, and more sets of eyes means more chances to catch something hidden."
-SOME TIME LATER-
In the days leading to the wedding, Blackarrow searches out Kartenix in order to offer his congratulations in his own way. As he heartily shakes Kartenix's hand, he jests "Well, it's about time! Any time I've seen the two of you together, you've been making those doe eyes at her. I'm glad that you could finally work up the courage to say something. I guess facing down a lich and demon is a fair confidence booster."
"However, not everyone can be quite as brave as you. I'm sure you've noticed what's going on between Alys and your new Warden, so perhaps you may want to offer her a position as Rivenroar's chief messenger? At least the poor fellow will have more opportunities to find his mettle."
OOC: Unless the Baron asks otherwise, BA'll be watching the ceremony from quite a distance and will head off to get ready to follow Sinruth's trail before the feast starts, so he's definitely not accepting any offers.

Malik will partake of the benefits as well. He will try to acquire a sheath worthy of the weapon to be fashioned for him.
He will also want to acquire or commission a plate mail fitting. He cannot fully afford it yet but will want to see who can help create such an armour.
Malik builds a reputation as a gambler and a cheat. No one dares call out the hero. A hero as large and imposing as Malik doesnt hear much back talk. At first people see it as a funny quirk for one such as he but eventually its clear that people prefer to not lose their money to him. People who used to bet gold now only use silver when he arrives.
The church of Magnus recognizes him as a paladin but shun away from him. No one calls him friend. This is no different than he's used to. He has vices but his devotion to Magnus and to Vengeance are unparalleled.
Oloric continues to try and find ladies of deeper pockets to take to bed. He looks to buy a few potions in the down time with the little gold he's acquired.
