Blackarrow charges after Izzy and Malik and, using the distraction Malik generated, grabs his other ally and pulls with all his might. With any luck, their combined efforts will be enough for a safe escape. Athletics Check: 19. Also, I should point out that, since the AoO happens at the edge of the monster's reach, if BA gets an Extraordinary success he'll pull Izzy out of range and draw his shield. Hopefully spreading the damage between the group of us will be enough to keep us all alive!

I had 11 hp when I went in there. My max HP is 23. 56 damage is twice my max hp. Even if Izzy had been at max HP when he got hit, the massive damage woulda wiped him. Izzy is an Ex-Thief. Don't get killed trying to save the wet smear on the floor.

OOC: Well, since our actions are held, we can act after the AoO and before the Jelly's turn, at which point Izzy only had 3 damage inflicted, so he's still got 8 left at the time we act. The Jelly dealt 48 damage, so split between 3 of us that's only 16 each, plus the 8 burning that I'd assume would hit us all equals 24 total. We can all survive that, and BA won't even be KOed, so he can parry to reduce damage by 1d8+3, and then use his bonus action next turn to heal 1d10+3. That means that if he somehow rolls all maxes, he ends the next turn at the same HP he's at now. Malik's got the damage reduction plus a higher AC, so hopefully he'll still be standing too, but either way, if Hraken comes in to assist, everybody can be pulled to safety. So it's all good, although Izzy's probably going to be napping for a little while!

Seeing a grim future for their friend (well guy they kinda know) Malik and Blackarrow spring forward. Malik's massive warhammer swings again and again at the huge beast. The Jelly ripples with the blows. (52 damage holy cow it a home run!)
Instead of a grappled helpless thief the 6 pods of the beast thrust out at each of the quick moving warriors.
The two attacking Malik slam off his armor causing no damage.
Blackarrow is knocked for a loop by one pod then the second grabs him and begin to draw him back in. The pods movement activates the trap and sprays Blackarrow with oil. The burning spreads down the beast psuedopod and ignites Blackarrow. (9 physical, 6 acid, and 3 burning= 18 damage) pulled back toward the beast and a little on fire.
Izzy dodges the last two attacks rolling and landing with just a little acid burning his jerkin a bit. (only the original 3 acid damage)
next round
Let me invoke the slaughter rule.(he only has 11hp)
Malik swings the Warhammer again and again the Ochre Jelly finally shakes it's pods spasm out in all directions and it bursts like a massive acid fill pinata. Malik, Izzy, Blackarrow, and the chained Gnome are covered in burning stomach acids. Each feels the want to wretch as the smell fills their lungs as well as the burning of the acid. (3hp acid damage each) The entire area is dripping ochre puss.

"Ouch...that went a lot smoother in my head. Thanks for the save, guys." Izzy rolls over and looks back at the slime-room. "I'm not cleaning that up, by the way." He stumbles to his feet.
Fargrim sets the sleeping gnome down, and shakes his head. "Best ta leave the mace-swingin' to them with a talent for it, lad!" He starts checking everybody over for injuries that can be fixed with the limited resources available. [Medicine check total: 17] "P'raps we should take a breather, lads. That last one was a wee bit closer than I'd prefer!"

Malik agrees, "Let us get back to the wagon and rest a bit and check our wounds. We can do a final sweep later."
Oloric looks pale, his eyes still reflecting the fire burning the last remains of the ooze. "Perhaps I was a little hasty in igniting the oil but I'm glad we made it. First drink is on me!"
Malik will head to the wagon unless we need to do something else first. He will turn the hammer into a handaxe to fit at his belt until he can get a sheath worthy of the holy weapon.
We can spend an hour using HD to heal, question the gnome, and maybe just check for loot, etc. Then we can figure the next steps?
Edit: when we can rest Malik will use all 3 of his HD to get back to full.

OOC: You do all look like the ghostbusters after they have been slimed. So maybe some bathing. The Captain, the priestesses of the moon, and his son come down the tower ladder to the first level and greet you at the gatehouse. "My father and the others are looking to the Heart of Rivenroar to see what can be done to remove the necrotic curse. You have done my family a great deed all of you that will never be forgotten." He clasps arms with each of you. "There will always be a place for you at the Baron's table of Rivenroar." He asks you to bring the wagon and horses so he may close the gatehouse. After your rest the clearing of the rest of the keep become an easy one. In the cells you find the final missing villager Mirtalla the cook from the Antler and Thistle. She is wracked with fever, open sores, and is quite mad. The Priestesses heals her body, but can nothing for her mind. You find rooms filled with destroyed furniture, former labs recently used, and desecrated alters of worship. The Captain (now Baron) speaks of how they will be clearing and cleaning each area. You find the trophies of Brindol and in the tower Sinruth was using as a base find a message left by the Hobgoblin crumpled on the floor. It smells as if someone urinated on the message. OOC: There is treasure to be found but it would be property of the Baron. You can post anything else you want to do during this time but i assume you want a long rest. You enjoy the food you brought after They clear a dining hall. Taking pieces from all three halls they are able to provide enough chairs for everyone. They all look tired but relieved as they eat. The Wizard speak of what Rivenroar used to be, and what it will be again."We will be staying at Rivenroar. It's halls be opened as will the passage through the mountains opening trade with the northern nations again. Poor Mirtalla will return with you to Brindol as will we to gather supplies. Then we will return with whomever will join us in reopening Rivenroar. All of you know that you will always have a home here." After your rest instead of the long trip down the mountain the Baron has you bring horses and wagon to the portal room. He begins a ritual and soon the portal flares to life. On the other side you see a large stone room. Golden Lions that sit at tables in the room rush to the portal drawing swords. The swords are raised in a cheer as the Captain steps through. He is surrounded by the soldiers of Brindol as you step through.

Long rest, but yes, there's a few things that need to be dealt with. Specifically our tiny new friends, and the long and detailed answers we'd like to get from them about this "Emissary" and what his deal is, and how they got hired for this gig, and what they know about the rest of the plan. That sort of thing. I'm sure the Council will also have some questions, but those guys are clowns, and I don't trust them not to screw it up, so I'd like for us to get first crack at these fellows.
At some point in the evening, when they're alone, Izzy remarks to Oloric "It's amazing, isn't it, how folks who haven't seen a place or touched all its loot for over a decade and have shown absolutely no inclination to go clear it out themselves can suddenly be all 'Hey, thanks for getting me back MY STUFF, wouldja like a sandwich and a spare cot to sleep on?' once somebody else does the heavy lifting, isn't it?"

OOC: Stepping into a room filled with Golden Lions...yeah, that's definitely not at the top of BA's to-do list. He may have to hold down the fort while you all talk to the townies. Still, I guess we'll figure that out after some whack-a-Gnome.
As Blackarrow stands up, he takes a quick inventory of himself. He's on fire, acid drenched, and even through his mask, the smell isn't entirely filtered away. Good. That should make him even more threatening than normal.
He grabs the complaining gnome by the throat, taking care to put on enough pressure to send a message, while not fully constricting his airway and keeping him from talking (he has a LOT of experience with this), lifts him in the air, and growls "You're going to spill everything you know about the Emissary, or I'm going to spill everything you have in your intestines."
Intimidation: 16.

You find a nice corner of the Keep and toss your new gnomish friends into it. One is just waking up to an iron chain around his neck. The other is still covered in a mixture of oil and ochre jelly stomach acids.
You will complete the questioning before the rest or stepping through the gate.
You did notice the Ochre Jelly had digested many things in his day and was incapable of dissolving metals. In the splatter (and not owned by the Baron) are 300 cp, 3,000 sp, 800gp, and even 25 platinum pieces. They have a variety of shapes and stampings to them. Some show kings and lords, others demons and arcane symbols. You find a few rings of evil look and design (the Jelly was probably in a circle of hell), a metal headband that has metal pieces that curl around the ears, and a scale armor woven with decorations of sea animals and shells.
Paelius seems very taken by the Wizard's labs in the Keep. You need to basically drag him away from investigation. He then tells you,"This adventure has convinced me that adventures are hot, messy, smelly things. The baron has offered to have me stay on and help investigate the labs and library here and I have decided to take him up on his offer." He will travel back to Brindol with you to help gather supplies.

The gnome hangs for BlackArrow's arm looking beyond him to the fang filled fangs of Hraken,"He found us in the Shadowfell and hired us for this mission. We made a few potions, laid a few traps, and worked a few rituals. We are just employees. The Emissary never gave a name or who he was working for."
"This is what we get for working with Shador Kia, Bert." The splattered gnome yells.
"Shutup Ern, When banished to the Shadowfell who are you going to work for. The Vampires?"
"Better than Hobgoblins. Never did trusts Hobgoblins. Now I know why! and how does a wight rate higher than a vampire. Von Strad pays in advance he does."
"Shut up Ern, We only know the little Shador Kia brought Sinruth, the Baroness, and the Goblins together and all he wanted in return was the dragon crown. Things not even magical and was missing most of it's pieces." The gnomes face is turning from red to a blueish look.

Izzy looks over at Paelius. "So, what's a 'shadar kai'? Some kinda shadow-demon or something? And what do we know about this crown? Why would some shadow realm goombah want it?"
