Malik will head to Noel to prepare for the journey. Before splitting the group "We should make haste while there is still light today. We can get close enough today that we can make it there tomorrow sometime in the morning. I suggest being quick as I think we should leave within an hour If possible before its too late."
As Malik arrives at Noel he makes his introduction "Good sir halfling I am Malik a knight of Magnus. Thank you for you assistance. It appears we are heading to Rivenroar and the undead that haunts its reaches."
Seeing Derrius approach he greets him "Captain this is not quite what I expected. A cart will slow us down greatly. We are to head against the baronous of rivenroar it appears. Is this place further than I have heard? I worry if the tales of hordes of undead are true that a wagon may become a liability. I would hate to lose someone else's property while trying to save the lives of my companions."
He looks to Noel, "Will you be driving this wagon sir?"

[OK, before I hit the council, I wanna try and get a rough idea of the tactical layout of this whole thing. What can Morrie tell us about what this Sanrith's forces are like? Rough numbers, composition, how alert are they likely to be? Are they fortified, and if so, how? Has he seen what kind of forces the Baroness has at her command? Like, legions of undead or just a few skeletal mooks wandering around? And did we get basic directions to their camp out of him?]

While everyone seems to be taking their time, Hraken is growing impatient. Knowing the value of fighting with a team, he bides his time. He finds himself wandering to the home where the small boy was taken...
OOC: is the house still standing? Can he go inside and look for clues?

[Oloric will head to the council but is waiting on Izzy to come. Glad to do the talking unless Izzy would prefer. For Izzy and others: We should tell them our plan to head to Rivenroar and negotiate some additional 'motivation' to proceed on this end. He will be hoping for more gold or at least some more potions. We should also think about what our plans are with Rivenroar. Are we really going to face a lich head on? Or is our main goal to save hostages stolen if possible, etc? We'll obviously deal with things once there but we should probably have a semi plan to inform the council with.]
[Malik will also peruse the wagon some. Are there any spare handaxes, you say spears is that similar to a Javelin?]
Seeing that Hraken is growing impatient and the ranger being the only reason Malik hasn't already left, "We should give them an hour. If not here they can catch up. This wagon will be slow but there isn't time to waste. We can leave word here for any stragglers that they need to catch up post haste."
If Hraken has no objections that will be his plan after a brief conversation from Derrius and Noel, etc.

Fargrim agrees to tell the council before leaving, and offers to accompany the party to the meeting. Fargrim is happy enough with Noel's cart, although he would not mind walking.
He tells Malik "We can hide the wagon and leave it behind once we are closer to our destination, ser knight. I enjoy a walk around the wilderness more than most, but it's good to have a place to camp and regroup. Although I hope Lord Noel is not planning on coming with us. I understand he has a personal interest on this quest, but bringing him along would be extremely dangerous. As an acolyte of Duin I consider myself personally responsible for the lives of all who embark on this quest."
When inquired about his skills against the undead, Fargrim tells Izzy he carries holy water around, for his Bless spell, and he can call upon Duin's power of life, which the undead loathe and fear [Turn Undead].

Noel approaches the group of Oloric, Malik, and Fargrim. "I wish I wss still young enough to be the hero. Now I heard call for javelins and axes, both are a dozen in number on the wagon. Master Fargrim I am also loaning you one of my prize possesions. Please promise me on your faith that you will make every attempt to return Maybel to me." If you promise will introduce you to the wagon named Maybel. "Now this bell when you ring it the wagon will be pulled like it has no weight at all. You need to be careful not to loose control but she will keep up with any mounts." The wagon Maybel moves at double normal wagon speed and when the bell is rung once daily will not encumber the beasts pulling it for one minute at all.

Derrius laughs at the suggestion that the wagon will slow you down,"You do not know Maybel." He states with a smile. "You will get to know Maybel and also Shadow, Patch, Slade, and my pride and joy Connan." He shows you a black mare, white and brown patched mare, a grey stallion, and he dismounts from his massive tan warhorse. The beast is crossed with scars from a dozen campaigns."If even one other captain stood to keep the city safe I would ride with you. I can 't leave the safety of this city to the lords."

Malik looks at the warhorse with appreciation. "I understand your obligations. We need protectors here and people capable of managing the city and protecting it are rare. Hopefully we can return those lost before whatever ghastly plans this Baronous has planned can be completed. We should be off though. We just need the others to return. I believe they were informing the council where we are headed."
OOC: Does the warhorse have barding or a masterwork saddle?

Fargrim ponders for a second and replies to Lord Noel "It truly sounds like a magnificent wagon, Lord Noel. My primary duty will be to protect the lives of my companions. Second, to protect the horses, peaceful living creatures, even though they make me ill. Then yes, I'll do everything in my power to bring Maybel back to you and repay the trust you bestow upon us. I'll give you my word on this, if you find this reasonable."

OOC: Oloric didn't go to the wagon.
Oloric responds to the Lord Warden, "Morrik did give us a lead. It appears this attack was due to a red hand goblin tribe in cohorts with the Baronous of Riven roar. It appears you have many enemies."

[So, did Morrie clam up about the tactical setup and the rest of my questions? Should I just head over to the council?]

Sorry real life. Morrik states they have a mercenary company of 100 Hobgoblins but they are at thier own camp at the base of the mountains. The castle rivenroar has undead servants of the lich and 200 female goblins who are all that is left from the red hand tribes. He also few gnomes around with the pale emissary.

Hraken enters the Jairo resident and finds a modest home for the Captain of the guard and retired Warmage. It is easy to see the house lacks a woman's touch. The main room is disrupted with what little furniture that is normally there tossed and smashed. Moving through he find the Grandfather's room contains an old wardrobe. Opening it he see a wall hanging with a noble heraldry sewn into it. The hanging looks aged and shows a shield with one quadrant with a river rushing over rapids. Another quadrant shows a hand holding a wand.

Fargrim- Noel down to him from the driver's seat,"That is all I can ask of you. Now you will probably run into a little trouble. So please meet my answer to trouble." Noel flips the seat and pulls a blunderbus that looks is longer than the halfling. This is Tussel. He can drop a half dozen goblins at close range. If Fargrim wants it, Noel begins to show Fargrim the cleaning, loading, and firing of a blunderbus.
OOC: "Tussel" Blunderbuss Wt 10, Medium, Projectile, simple, 600gp, Range 3/12, Damage 1d8, Blackpowder, Shotgun (add 1d8 to damage in first 10 feet), Cone 3(everyone in the cone must save vs. dex or be hit) load 1 maneuver, heavy, ammo, two handed

Marik- Connan has leather barding but a normal saddle. The other horses have no barding and are regular horses.
Derrius looks surprised as you mention the Baroness, "What does the Witch of Rivenroar have to do with the red hand. She has not been heard from in my lifetime. I will raise all of the warriors I can and send word to the High Clerics of Magnus."
