Fargrim stabilizes Sertanian and pulls him north as Paelis moves to the door.
Paelias was right to prepare to dodge as he tries the knob the door bursts open. A long Ogre arm shatters the door and reaches with a sweeping grab for Paelias. The Ogre cannot fit through the door but beyond him you see the wall has been blown down and a dozen goblins are rushing about.

OOC: This action can occur at any point, so if anybody else wants to act first, they can.
Blackarrow shoots a glare at the surrendering goblin that says "It doesn't matter how many of them are over there if you're still over here" in the hopes that it will flee.
He then pulls out his rope and grapple and flings it up to the skylight. He calls out to the others "We have no chance against their numbers! If we regroup on the roof, they can't all follow at once, especially the ogre!"
He'll reserve his move up the rope until everyone else gets up.
Athletics Check: 15. He has the Athlete feat, so when he moves, he'll be able to scale the entire rope in one move.

The Goblin head for the door and the shadows of the next room as Blackarrow goes up the rope. By the time Blackarrow reaches the roof the goblin is gone.

OCC: Wait, what are the goblins beyond the door doing? They're pillaging the town or running from something else? By the way, Paelias, I had not realized you were badly wounded, I'm sorry. I thought you had only taken 2HP damage so far. You probably should act first.
OOC: Also, how difficult is it to climb the rope? Can I get to the rafters by climbing the display cases or shelves (and does it look any easier)? Also, just to get it straight, the goblin Blackarrow talked to was the last one left standing inside the hall, right?
"I do agree we need to leave, and I'm out of spells. But..." Fargrim looks very much in doubt about the idea of climbing the rope. "Paelias, do you think you can get up there?"

"Well, I can try to climb the rope, I'll probably fall down, but remaining here is not an option.", Paelias says. He moves to the rope and tries to climb it, using a double move.
OOC: athletics check 16, pheew, that was lucky.

The goblin behind the door are looting the backroom of the Hall of Great Valor. They have blown out the north wall and and pulling items from the rubble. Seeing the Ogre reaching for you is probably going to draw the interest of the looters to you. The rope is DC10 remember extraordinary success can get you up it faster. Blackarrow is aiding so you would have advantage on the roll. The Goblin that ran was one of two that grabbed items from the museum cases. Blackarrow helps pull Paelias up as he looks around. Dusk is falling and he sees smoke and large fires are scattered through the city. His city is burning and overrun by foul goblins. As Fargrim grips the rope he can hear the chittering and calls of Goblins now in the south entrance chamber of the museum. It sounds like a victory cheer going up by at least 6 goblins. He can't see them to know the exact number. Fargrim can also hear the goblins behind screaming for him to move.

If Fargrim is pursued by goblins while climbing up, Paelias will try to hit them with a ray of frost.

The elf Paelias makes it up, making Fargrim wonder if the longer arms and legs make the task any easier. Looks like it's either climb or die. Fargrim swallows the dry lump in his throat, tries the rope with his weight, and starts up. He sees Blackarrow ready to help and says "This was your idea, so it's your fault if I fall down!"
Athletics check: 13 and 11 (13 with advantage). If I need/can double move to go all the way, I'll do it again. Second move athletics check: 11 and 18.

OOC: Are we still in the combat rounds, or are we in nonstructured action since we fled from the big group of goblins? I don't want to take up an early initiative slot for this.
As Blackarrow reels in and stows away the grapple, he remarks "Impressive climbing, both of you." He begins to draw his bow and count hostiles when he notices the platinum sword and the crow are gone. He moves to the southern portion of the roof angrily grumbling "Goblins do not have a grasp of self-preservation, do they?" as he looks for the distinctive glimmer of the platinum blade.
Perception Check: 13. Let's hope the goblin isn't hiding well.

OOC: You are out of combat rounds on the roof. The squares on the map are 20 feet. The goblin tokens represent 4 goblins each. The Ogres are just one. Hraken's token is also 6 warhounds moving with him. Malik's also includes Oloric running beside him. Izzy is running before Wordwise who has placed Fiery on his shoulders Masterblaster style. They are running past a bombed out theater that the goblins have left to move to the Hall of Valor. Fargrim climbs as the goblins rush the room. Paelis is not sure if his frost hit anyone but the magic did cause the Goblins to duck and cover leaving Fargrim unmolested on the way up. You stand on the roof and in the smoke pouring from the hall you look out upon the city. To the south of the hall you are a pack of 8 goblins outside with more inside the entrance of the Hall. Blackarrow can not find the goblin with the sword. The north end of the building is blow open and the ogre that was reaching in is turning back to the last group of Golden Lions. The group of four are back to back with more than a dozen goblins surrounding them. The leader of the Lions is screaming to the goblins,"Come beast which will die first. You may kill us but that is little use to the first who come forward. So which will be the ones to die so your sisters can succeed." The goblins have scavenged spears and shortswords but none seem eager to be the first to die. West of the hall (on the road Hraken's group travels) is the remains of a ogre, a dozen dead goblins, the ogre's overturned wagon, and 6 dead Golden Lions from the battle. East of the Hall is the fountain and statue of Magnus that greets all who come to his temple. Currently goblins are chanting and howling as an Ogre is standing half in the fountain trying to push the statue over. He is slamming his shoulder into the statue and it is beginning to give. In the mass of goblins surrounding the fountain are two dressed in feathers and bones carrying wooden staffs. Inside the temple the old priest of Magnus Tellidren readies his young acolytes. The half dozen of them have made crude clubs and some carry small daggers. None look ready to rush out of the temple but Tellidren knows they must. He says a blessing filling them with the grace of the god of protection, honor, and justice. They prepare to rush from the entrance of the temple and attack. The Goblins are aware of Fargrim's group on the roof of the hall. They are not aware of the approach of the other two groups. It is early evening with 2 full moons and a lot of fire so visibility is good around the Hall of Valor. OOC: 44 Goblins AC 13 unless shown with a shield then AC 15, HP 11, Acrobatic DC16, spears and short swords some have gathered bows. 2 Ogres AC 11, HP 59, Athletics DC 16, club with reach and thrown rocks 2 Goblin Shaman AC 13, HP 7, Acrobatic DC13, staff and spells 6 Hounds AC 12, HP 5, bite 4 Golden Lions AC 16, HP 11, sword and spears Priest Tellidren AC 13, HP 27, mace and prayers 6 Acolytes AC 10, HP 9, clubs and daggers Please roll for initiative since this is a new combat. [OOC notes: Izzy, Wordwise, and Firebug are over 200 feet away, so we're like more than 3 rounds from hand-to-hand action. Wordwise has his longbow, and Firebug's probably got some distance spell action he can throw into the mix. Me, unless I managed to spot a loose crossbow or something on the way here, I'm gonna hafta run up to help. So, y'know, don't die or anything in the next three rounds, is I guess what I'm saying.]
[Init roll total: 8. Yeah, I'm sure that'll help.]
Issarian takes a Dash action and heads toward the building at the fork of the road. He'll get there at the end of the next round, after taking another Dash action.

Malik: He will use Dash to move double speed on his first turn.
Init = 6
Oloric: He will also use Dash to move double speed on his first turn.
Init = 9 Can I make another check for exhaustion/fatigue each round? I got 14 which beats the 10 DC if so.

Initiative roll: 20.
Looks like the entire city has become a battlefield. Fargrim readies his crossbow. If the situation to the North of the Hall with the surrounded Golden Lions remains a stalemate, Fargrim will most likely shoot at the goblins to the East threatening the temple of Magnus, visions of the ruined temple he once called home fresh in his mind. A place of worship and faith has to be preserved.
OOC: That's some large scale battle, man. Cool!

Blackarrow draws his bowstring to fire at the southern goblins, but then hears the calls of the Golden Lions northward. He lets out a frustrated grunt as he turns to fire at the threatening goblins, adding "The Lions are even crazier than the goblins."
Initiative Roll: 16.
OOC: On his turn, Blackarrow will fire at a goblin by the Lions. Attack roll 18, barely Extraordinary Success. Damage 4. Second attack 16. Damage 10.
