"I saw the spyders of Darkstryder. Hundreds of them waiting in the ruins and something else. Something has permeated every left and rock on this world. An impression of an event massive enough to leave a permanent aura on this world." Jessa looks like she is trying to regain her cool demeanor but her eyes are still wild.

OOC: Okay then, and I'll assume the difficulty is the same 2D.
Mechanics: Leadership Check 1P1A vs 2D. Net result 1 Triumph, 1 success, 1 threat. Stev'll be happy to take one strain again unless you want to use it for something else. If this check doesn't pull Samarion out of his daze, the Triumph can be used to up his next check.

Sivu remarks "Curious." to Jessa's comment, and then turns to reply to PD. "Considering that I could very likely be losing my sanity at this moment, I will follow your suggestion. However, Sigurd seems to have been largely immune to these effects. In fact, this madness is oddly selective. At first I though it may be indicative of some untapped Force potential, but it is statistically improbable that Samarion, Amura, Dajus, Stev, and the entire clone squad could all be gifted with Force ability. I cannot help but wonder what the deciding factor is however. Perhaps the research team can shed light on this situation, if we can break them of the madness sure to be afflicting them after such a prolonged stay on this planet."

Jessa looks to PD13 then begins the sensor scan requested,"Lifeforms are plentiful in the area none of them in the valley are bigger than humanoid sized. Being in the valley we can't make a detailed reading of the HQ. The reading from the X-Wings did show and increase of life readings around the HQ and the place of kastays."

Samarion looks to Stev. His eyes become his again with a look of intelligence instead of wildness. Samarion drops away from Amura and lowers his snout,"This is not me. I am not him." He looks to the group,"I am sorry. I do not, I am not that creature."

Stev nods to Samarion. "I understand. This planet tried to do the exact same thing to all of us. Now, let's check on everyone else, and if the crew's ready to go, we can head out to that Imperial base and learn what we can about why this is happening."

The troops unload, disengage the speeders and UALVs from the lower vehicle bay that runs under the trooper compartments and begin to form up.
6 Speederbikes for scouts Gammer, Sasha, Boom, Stev, Makio, Sigurd
UALV 1- Pilot Trooper Gunner Trooper
UALV 2- Pilot Trooper Gunner Trooper
Heel toe express- Forward scouts- Amura, Samarion Main Squad- Theta, 6 troopers, Analia, Jessa
Will the speederbikes stay with the main group or scout the HQ ahead of them? The normal marching order for the troops would be Forward scouts-UALV- main squad- UALV. Do you want to do anything different?
Aegis would be PD13 waiting with his tin foil hat on his head for the sky to fall.
"Bad thing about landing on the side away from the gas giants is that is also the side turning into nightfall," Gammer states looking at the red star low in the sky. "We have about 50 minutes of light left and about 50 minutes before the event horizon hits. With what we have read from the reports night is when the fun starts on this planet."
Theta walks forward,"It has been a long time since I've been on a bug hunt. Let them come."

Slacker locks down Aegis and keeps watch via external security cams. Slacker pings his brethren to determine if they are in the HQ. PD13 monitors the Comms and sensors. Thirteen considers that Jessa's Spyders might be the ghost like figures that took Captain Ciro.
OOC. Sorry Sivu, I meant the Samarion, not Sigurd.

PD13 sends a ping on a general pit droid data transfer channel. He receives a response stream of data from the MS-133 Pit Droid excavation team. They are currently on standby in the Place of Kastays archaeological dig on the other side of the planet. The dozen droids have not been activated in 3 days. They are not your droids but they are pit droids.
PD13 also keeps tabs on the speeder's and ULAV's sensors as well as the Aegis scans.
____
Ciro and Carne reach the jump point and make a microjump outside the radius of the gas giant's effects. The travel hyperspace of a few minutes then drop back into the void between systems. The Red Star of Aaris is just a coin sized disk on the black.

Stev looks at the initial plans for a moment, and a deep frown crosses his face. He sighs and says "As much as I want to take point, it doesn't make sense for Gammer and I to be together when our skill sets overlap so much. Our time before the storm will be very limited, so we need at least one computer specialist to analyze as much data from the HQ as possible before everything goes dark. Sivu needs to take my speeder."
"Also, if we're going to keep up this Imperial deception up for two days, we'll need to start convincingly. It's unlikely that any bounty hunters would be unsupervised on a sensitive mission like this, so Amura and Samarion should take at least one person in trooper armor with them. If any of the troopers are survival experts, they can go ahead, but if not, I can go. I just don't want to risk giving away our position while I'm coordinating movements and calling orders, and refraining to call orders to maintain stealth could be just as bad."
"My call would be to send the speeders to get there as quickly as possible, considering that every moment we lose is a piece of intel we may never get. Otherwise, I'd keep marching order as stated. Since the clones can't carry the shield generators and power packs, let's load one of each onto the UALVs."
"Still, I don't pretend to be the galaxy's greatest tactician. Everyone has something to bring to the table, and that something could save all of our lives. So, does anybody have another plan?"
As Stev sees the scouts on the speederbikes prep to head out without him, he decides that he hates being in command when it means he has to take himself out of the action. Maybe he should've followed Tola's example. He also strangely starts sympathizing with Thyte.

Amura hears the plan, he nods in agreement as it is solid with good choices. His more in-tune with instinct senses are not able to pin point what is wrong but he knows in his gut this is not goin gto be a simple investigative patrol. He ensures his comm link, gas mask, and rest of his gear and weapons are working perfectly.
Sigurd is still looking at random pieces of information on his scanners, not sure what to make of it. He doubles checks his sedation drugs in case something goes crazy in the crew. (OCC feel free to make any other scans with him as I think he will continue to use every environment, lifeforms and any other type of scan he can get.)

Scanning Amura he sees he is not on metabolic overload but the clone troopers and Stev are running at a extreme high rate of metabolism and their cells are reproducing like mad.

Slacker transmits an emergency priority fake work order to the MS-133 pit droids at the archeological excavation site in the place of Kastays using imperial maintenance protocol. It instructs them to open a port QDHSVA342 for a firmware maintenance upgrade. The work order directs them to collaborate and reply with a complete sensor survey of the entire excavation site using their ocular lens cameras and integrated sensors. The Sensor Survey is to be transmitted to DCFEW547 (Slackers port). They have Current Countdown Timer in seconds to complete the survey, transmit the survey, and then power down/turtle before impending EMP pulse. If time permits they should upload their memory backup to DCFEW547 (Slackers port) so their memory can be restored. Turtle in hard shelter if possible. A firmware upgrade will be transmitted that will restart them and repair any damage and restore their memory files after the storm passes.
Mechanics: Computer check with bonuses for fake work order specialty, plausible emergency, self preservation instinct to open ports. Set Back for increasing EMI from impending storm. Rolls 3 successes, 3 advantages, 1 disadvantage. Uses the 2 advantages to preserve their uploads.

Boom packs up his gear and prepared to leave. As he is packing he begins to notice the heightened stress in the ship. He wonders what he missed. Explosive are so much easier to understand than humanoids. And a whole lot more fun. He wonders though if he is going to have a chance to actually have any fun on this mission. Jungles aren't the best place for things to go boom, causes lots of critters to go running in all types of directions, and some of the bigger ones can actually hurt. And trees and plants are a whole lot more random in the way they fall since it's hard to get a good feel of their week spots. Building have such a satisfying way of coming apart when exploding.

Noell open his comm channel to Carne, "Okay, we've got a little time to wait out the storm. Just sitting in one of these pointers can be a little tiresome, and we want to be alert and ready when the storm breaks. So I suggest we take short rotations to try and get some rest between. I will take first watch. Keep your comm active and R2 on alert for any problems."
"Right sir. But not sure if I can rest much while the rest of the team is down on the planet"
"I know, but there is nothing we can do. But as soon as the storm breaks, I want us back in orbit" Noell switches on his internal comm, "Okay, Krayt, you heard my order. Do full long range scans and let me know if you find anything not normal. And let me know as soon as you determine that the storm is over. Keep sending intel to the Farstar"
Krayt responds with a few rude beeps. Noell's display interprets "Sounds like I am doing all the work"
"That's because there is no one else better at it." Noell reminds himself that putting up with the droids "quirks" is worth it. Krayt has kept his X-Wing going with some very clever fixes, when a fresh droid would have been stumped.
