Mission 7: The Return

The compound is only 6 blocks away. The SRV should take some time to be fixed so pounding the ground would be an option or waiting 1 minute for PD13 to arrive. Then some time to load everyone up. Some could walk and others could arrive later in the Aegis then later in the SRV.

Calling on coms you find Theta and his groups are at a stalemate with the Imperial troops. You know from Thane's teams meeting inside the compound earlier that they had a full Imperial barracks within the Karadol compound and at one time lead by General Markold Wilem. He had Darkstryder technology (somehow Jessa could see it) and a team with the technology. You believe this team ambushed the Aegis, almost killed it's crew, kidnapped the captain, then left the Aegis to burn up on reentry (if not for PD13). So it could be some extreme reistance if they are still at the compound.

Stev leaves the crumbled building and returns to the group wondering what was so important that the Empire would bring the entire building down.

So who is walking, riding, or flying to the compound?

You will be flying in style with missiles, blaster cannons, rpgs, e-webs, ion cannons. The trooper compartment can do a "bunker mode" where a firing port for each gunner (20 on a side) and it becomes a floating gunship of death. The pilot must fly slow and straight for guys to hit anything but if the enemy does not have anti-aircraft it is a beautiful thing to have 40 gunners and the big guns blazing. Scorne almost sheds a tear of joy thinking about it.

Stev's power armor is in a compartment as well. You also have 3 speederbikes on board. Who is going to take the Aegis guns and who will stay with the SRV to protect it until it is running?

Que, Blu, and Unda are headed for bacta tanks (they are pulling locals out of the tanks to make room). Jittone has taken over the Muvon's gun for Brophar. They are trying not to fire because it shakes the medical team. Lowggrr is still under sedation in the Muvon. He is being treated for Fwitz Fever a common malady caused by Fwitz bites.

Allstar awakens to see the ocular lens of P13 staring close. He helps her up and she decides to stay in the Aegis to help any way she can. She takes the co-pilot seat next to PD13. "That you for saving us. When the Captain and I stepped aboard the Aegis he began punching at the air and then everything went blank."

The Aegis lands and the troops begin to load.
Sigurd sees Stev looking dirt covered, bomb blasted, and generally worn and comes forward to check him for wounds.
Alta Dyson is yelling inspirational one liners at the militia and crew as they load up.

The Defenders report they have routed the Imperial forces that where marching on the city to the north. They have noted some types of forces are stopping ground vehicles on the major roads out of Domaz. Thousands of citizens have been streaming out of the city anyway they can get away and most are taking ground vehicles (80% of vehicles in the Kathol Sector are wheeled or tracked). They have blocked passage and vehicles are just stopped on the roads.

The TIE fighters have pulled into space and are moving into orbit to be the last line against the bombers.

Scorne, Analia, Kem, and Eric stay with the SRV as the rest load up into the Aegis. Flying over the compound you see chaos. The battle lines at the front gatehouse are set with a line of Theta's men dug in at the doorway and just inside and the Stormtroopers in a line of cover 100m across the large open plaza that makes up the entrance. Beyond this are crumbled blasted buildings with people and droids trying to dig people out. Other karadol citizens are packing speeders and ground vehicles and waiting for the battle to end to escape the city.

Thirteen displays his holo vid of the Captain's capture to Allistar on one of her monitors in the cockpit when his system resources aren't taxed.

Flying over the line of troopers the Aegis big guns and missiles hit the last two e-web firing positions the troopers had. They blow the barracks behind the troopers collapsing it in the officers within. Militia and FarStar crew follow Gorak's orders to fire and begin picking off individual troopers as they begin to run. Blaster fire rains down on the group below and their fire bounces harmlessly off the Aegis.

Theta's team moves forward as the troopers begin to drop weapons, fall to their knees, and put their hands on top of their helmets. His troopers begin binding their arms and explaining their rights as POW in the Republic.

Fearful Karadol citizens keep their distance but you can see them looking at the open gate and plotting with each other.

INN camdroids are beginning to circle the area.

The Imperial forces are under control and your security teams drops to back up Theta's troopers. The Karadol people come forward slowly,"You must let us leave this city. Anyone left here is dead. The virus will kill us all when it arrives."

PD13 hovers over and drops onto the SRV locking into it's undercarriage holding bay. The crew of the SRV climb up into the Aegis.

Allistar watches the holographic recounting of the Captain being captured along with the rest of Aegis crew,"PD13 you saved us all." Allistar leans into PD13 pilot's seat and wraps her arms around him."Thank you." She whispers to him.

Kaiya comes forward,"PD13 maintain a position over the city and be ready to respond to any threats."
