Pvt Carzyn looks up at the Chief,"I'm not sure there is a traitor. These sub-routines are in systems backups for 6 months or more. We have only had possession of the ship for a week. Someone put these in long before we even thought of this mission."

OOC Turbolaser is capital and laser cannons are vehicle. Laser Cannons fire a lot more but will not hurt the Bad Omen. The Turbolaser fire slowly but will rip through the armor and do big chunks of damage.

Warrent Officer and Department head Beldon Tial answers Slyer's call to robotics,"We could hook the power droids up to the laser cannons and possibly power one firing with one turret. It would then drain the power droids. Power droids are a key last option of the protocol for damage control. If a key system loses power they provide a temporary power source until systems are rerouted or repaired. If inertia dampeners, life support, or any number of systems go down we would lack temporary power supplies. If you are assured this will not happen we could give you a few more shots with the power droids."
Thyte reports,"Protons are locked loaded with a double staffed crew ready for reload."
Engineering reports nothing other than the re-balancing needed after the hyperspace disruption effecting the drive core. That is expected and the Wookie roars that he has it under control.
Rorn and Laith confer with each other,"Captain we are unable to locate the freighter that the Captain was transferred too. We do know that no one has been able to jump out of system."

Krudar spots that the Bad Omen is beginning to turn to the jump point shifting himself to put his working aft shield in your firing arc. Lodor comms "Lowfryyhn, since you're already messing with the lasers' power, could you put all the cannons' power into the turbolasers so they can charge up and blast faster?"
He then realizes he's spoken without permission, and hastily adds "Um, if that's okay with you, Chief."
Lodor will also take this time to highlight Ranna and Carne's locations on the targeting computer. He doesn't want to cause any collateral damage while he's taking shots at the Bad Omen.

You could hook all of the upper batteries up to the Turbolaser and it could recharge and fire every 30 seconds instead of 60 seconds on average. It would de-power all of the laser cannons topside.

Krudar: Lodor if no one is smart enough to have masks on then by all means man it. if we can get both turbo only firing might be better for capital fight. Wiz kid you got any readout on that?
Slyer thinks about the former imperial ship and what might still surprise them. He will have the crew start digging deeper when this battle is over. "Sensors and comm keep us posted on the captain, thanks for the update." "Do we have the power figured out yet to maximize our chances in the next gun fight?"

Current Round The Bad Omen is turning as 3 TIEs attempt to hard dock. Sensors show not all three made it into the craft. The Bad Omen is showing it's port side to you and next round will have it's shielded aft in your firing arcs. Lodor uses the Bad Omen's turn to his advantage as he aims, since they've left their engines wide open for a shot. His turbolaser bolt streaks through space and hits dead on the mark, causing their sublight engines to explode in a giant ball of fiery gas that is quickly extinguished by the vacuum. "Yep, it stuck around!"
Mechanics: Gunnery Check 4P1B vs 5D. Net result 2 Triumphs 2 successes 1 threat. Taking 1 Strain. Using 2 Triumphs and giving up the damage to destroy their engines. They're dead in the water now.

Lodor's Turbolaser cuts through the Carrier's hull and through the sublight engine bay. The Ion drives flare out as the sublight systems go down.
Krudar's Turbolaser cuts a large gash down the side of the Bad Omen. The ships inertia dampers and structural integrity field are destabilized and the hull is breeched. The ship is twisting strangely and the force field over the hangers have gone down expelling atmo and crew into the void of space. (Ship is half of normal Hull Threshhold (46/75 hull damage) and system stress (43/60 strain)).
Thyte's stands over LJG Haynor and smiles before the launch of protons even leave the tubes. The protons torpedos thrusts over the top of the Carrier and slam into the bridge. The top of the carrier has a gaping hole where command and control once resided. The second proton continues into the hole and blasts out the bottom of the carrier. (12 damage critical bridge down).
Lt Rorn calls out the damage reports as the sensors process the information,"Captain the Bad Omen's hull is breached on multiple levels. Structural integrity fields, gravity generators, and inertia dampners are gone. Ion Engines are down. Shields are down. Weapons are down. She is dead in the water unless a damage control team is able to do the impossible. Her bridge section is destroyed."
Thyte is clapping Haynor on the shoulder as they look over the readouts. "The Bad Omen will be moving at a little over 2 clicks per second toward the planet until we get a tractor beam on her." The X-Wings come in to dock with ease.
"Sir," Rorn calls out,"The rats are fleeing the sinking ship. We have a dozen escape pods launched and 2 Imperial Shuttles."
Turbolasers are up and ready to fire as well and torpedoes.
Bad Omen has 58 of 75 hull damage, 43/60 system strain. It is breached, destabalized, with destroyed sub-light engines and the bridge destroyed.
Ranna is still floating in space and is Carne and his X-Wing.

Krudar and Lodor's turbolasers fire out crippling the 2 shuttles as the tractor beam grabs the Bad Omen. His momentum slows the FarStar and soon they are pulled to a stop.
The Flight Deck races to reload, refuel, and repair the X-Wings as quickly as possible to ready them for recovery of Ranna, Carne, and the escape pods.
As the hyperspace storm disperses the astrogation station lights up,"We have incoming to the jump point looks like a half dozen large vessels coming in."
The crew readies for what is coming hoping for friend and not foe. One after another 6 capital sized vessels drop into real space.
Rorn's voice shows the happiness all of the crew feels as she announces,"Sensors show them to be Mining vessels from Rockport."
Lilith looks up from her station,"The Lord Baldur Shador is on the com sir."
Slyer order the comm brought up and the brother of the High King you recently rescued looks at you smiling from the bridge of one of the large mining vessels,"Sir Slyer I apologize for our tardiness we where unable to re-enter real space with the hyperspace storm."
The mining vessels send out pods to collect the escape pods. They offer to take the husk of the Bad Omen off you hands and allow the FarStar to regroup.
Soon Ciro is slowly approaching Ranna's last position following the beacon she is at last able to send. It is a tight fit to have 2 in a X-Wing but they begin their trip back to the FarStar.
The FarStar pulls in Carne's X-Wing and approaches the debris of Dasha's and Will's X-Wing. They pull in what they can hoping to find part to re-purpose or possibly something to bury. Instead they find Will floating near his destroyed ship. Pulling him on board the EMTs begin to work to bring him to a stable condition. His face is burned, his arm and leg from the knee down are gone his self sealing pressured suit the only thing that kept him from bleeding out. The crew and pilots rejoice that Will is alive.
The FarStar moves back to the planet victorious in their first engagement.

Lodor sighs "We lost more than I hoped, but at least we got a lost one back. Next job is rescuing the Captain I guess. Are our reinforcements keen on securing the jump points to make sure nobody leaves the system? We don't want the kidnappers to haul jets without us in the way."
As Lodor hears about the dissipating hyperspace storm, he remarks "Does anyone else think that the timing of the storm was WAY too Prime for the Omen for it to be a coincidence? Is there any way the Imps on the Omen could've been causing it? We might want to interrogate those runners, because if we can stop any jumps out of system, the Captain's as good as ours."

LT. Rorn:"Captain we have dozens of ships in system from the planet. We are unable to track the ion trail of the Iron Fist (the ship that has the Captain). Ships look to be moving toward the other 2 jump points in system or they could head out of system and jump from any point."
The bridge transport tube opens and the duros gunner Keeg steps out. The security droids flanking the tube raise weapons on the unauthorized personnel.
"Security override, Let him through." Thyte barks.
Keeg approaches Thyte and Slyer,"If you pull my X-Wing's sensor banks I think you will find the source of the hyperspace storms. The Bad Omen was placing some type of pod within the system's gas giant."
