The gnome points to the scroll he dropped,"I don't have all the keys, but I do have the ones to the Orc nation camped out Bordin's Watch, this gate, and a passage to the Shadowfell city of Umberforge. They kept the keys back to my world from us gnomes. It made sure we didn't leave until the job is done."

Khadam looks to Fargrim then back to the group,"This is the most valuable secret of the dwarf nation." He pulls a partially scorched book from his bag. He tosses the book to Oloric,"I know this has the keys in it. I don't the skill needed to find it or use it."
Oloric needs make a combined 34 DC in Arcane. Each roll will be 1 hour of study. It may also be considered rest time from healing, but not for relearning spells. Another may assist him but they will also will not able to restudy spells over that time.
You may search the area for supplies (and/or) valuables. Khadam will not appreciate wholesale looting. I don't think Rhal would either.
You could also make Heal rolls or other rolls as appropriate and describe what your character is doing.
1 hour short rest may spend HD to heal.
8 hours long rest, heal all hp, regain 1/2 HD, regain spells.

Searching upstairs you do find 8 knives with poison sheaths (when unsheathed the next attack does d6 poison damage). A handful of coins (20gp worth) and some orc stink filled leather armor on the assassins. The Eye of Grummish has his trident with the symbol of grummish carved into it, ring mail (orc stink), and a shield. Nothing shows to be magical.

Delrin replies to the gnome "As long as the others don't object, I'd take that deal if you added in information on Sarshan, Tusk, and Myrissa. That, and your assistance in finding the keys in that book, since you are at least somewhat familiar with them."
If the gnome complies, Delrin will listen to what he has to say, and will then walk off to gather up his expended arrows. Hopefully most of them will be intact, otherwise he could be a bit underprepared for the next scuffle. Then he'll stick to that main room to take a breather and babysit our diminutive guest.
OOC: I have some ideas on how to weaponized and monetize the wineskin, so if nobody's interested in that I'd be happy to grab it. Furthermore, what's everybody's thoughts on how long we need to rest? I'm only 3hp below max and all my Fighter abilities come back after a Short Rest, so I'd only need that, but if we've got people with severely depleted spell slots, we may need to consider taking naps.

We need long rest. We leveled so those spells don't show until we long rest. What's our plan? Lots of names need killing!

Oloric also needs to find the gate keys in the Arcane Book. You could hire the Gnome, Nodwinn the Magnificent, to research the book if you don't want Oloric to do it.
Score Card of people to kill.
Emissary (Iranda)- From Brindol to now he has been selling weapons, opening gates, and raising the "lesser" races against you.
Tusk- Warleader of the Orc army. Influenced by Myrissa.
Myrissa- Shadovar (also called Shadar Kai) witch who has seduced Tusk.
Sarshan- Owner of the Umberforge and maker of crappy Shadowfell weapons that fall apart (slowly) in the bright light of the Mid-Realms. The Mastermind of the whole action.
Ambassador (Morda)- Sarshan's highest ranking Lieutenant overseeing the operation in the Mid-Realms. He is the boss of Iranda and Myrissa.

If you allow Nodwinn to use the bag of holding Oloric has on his person he will pull a small house from the bag that will grow and form in the middle of the great hall. It is gnome sized but you could crawl in (Luke Skywalker on Dagoba style) and it has short beds, food, tiny clothing, and all the comforts of home.
I am assuming you are taking 8 hours to rest.

Oloric spends 2 hours and comes upon something in the book.
(Arcana 21 and 19. Yay for a nat 20 and an 18 hah)
He would allow the gnome to use bag to pull out the house to rest.

Oloric finds pages missing before a partially burnt page. The page has a gatekey for The dwarven keep known as Bordin's Watch and a key for a Stonehome Mines.
"The Stonehome Mines connect to the Nexus. This gate is an older and lesser gate." Khalad states."Good thing is we probably won't walk through into a mass of Orcs. Bad part is we need to work our way to the Nexus and the Vault."
10 hours later you find Nodwinn is making a breakfast in the house.
OOC Anything would like to take or do before leaving? Where do you want to go? You have keys to a number of places, but Khadam wants you to go to the mines to protect the Nexus and Vault.

OOC: Another thing that Izzy woulda asked our gnomish guest-age is "How many more of this guild of gnome goons are we gonna hafta deal with, and is there a way to convince the rest of them that this is a bad deal and that they should quit?" It'd be handy to pry this particular tool-kit outta the enemy's hands. Also, Izzy's all over the poison sheath collection. Is this something that has to be periodically refueled, or is it an "always-on" effect?

The sheath must be filled weekly. They have flasks of posion (12). That can be used to refill. You could fill them with other posions or potions. The effect is only the first attack then they must be sheathed again. They are balanced for throwing.
