OOC: Thanks for the info, sometimes the rules of the different editions start to blur.
Delrin clicks his boot heels together and stage whispers "I've got it!" as he uses his magically enhanced speed to dash after the head. He runs down the first set of stairs, winds around the platform, and then jumps off the much more manageable 20ft drop in pursuit of the head, relying on his Darkvision to help him spot the head's resting place.
Acrobatics: 25. Perception: 17.

Delrin gets the head he is standing by the rock wall that is the side of the stairs but still invisible. The orcs will reach the bottom of the stairs by the end of the next round (orcs are fast).

"...well, that was anti-climactic..." Izzy says as he sheaths his rapier, draws his shortbow and moves to the front edge of the platform. "Hey, I thought you guys liked murder!" he smirks as he fires down at the advancing orcs.
(Bonus Cunning Action: use object; Attack roll total: 20; Sneak attack damage total: 19 to the greenie in the front.)

Izzy pop into visibility as he fires down at the lead orc rushing forward. The arrow sails above his shield and into his shoulder. Seeing warriors appearing out of nowhere would cause any other race to pause, duck, cover, run away, hide. The orc's just pour on more speed in their frenzy to attack.
OOC: A good 100 points of damage tends to drop any mage in their tracks. She could not even pull up her shield spell with the hold person. Like in the Superbowl having a superior plan can overcome the Superman who is surprised and hit early. Von Miller did the exact same attacks Malik did tonight to Cam Newton.

Oloric makes his way into the doorway opening it enough to move into the room. If he sees no enemies he continues further into the room.

Looking within Oloric sees orbs float 15' above the center of the large entrance chamber. The chamber splits into three large passages opposite of the entrance door. In each passage are 2 feet tall creatures that are nothing like what the dragon touched sorcerer have ever seen before.
The creatures roll on wheels with a domed crystal head. From the domed head extend 4 arms. The dozen or so creatures seem to be cleaning the space. One is scrapping fleshy goo from the floor of the first passage and depositing the material into the top of it's dome. Another is rubbing what looks like a patch of blood off the floor in the second corridor. While a couple have a spray of thick white plaster shooting on a wall in the third corridor. They all look to be cleaning, maintaining, and organizing the space. He sees no face, ears, or sensory organs on the domed head.
From his position, Oloric can see the first corridor is carved from rough stone with cobwebs starting from 10' to the ceiling. It does not have the orbs and extends into darkness. The center passage drops down to 10' high and is also rough stone. It also extends into darkness. The final corridor is wider than the others with it's walls covered by the sprayed plaster. The floor is mosaic tile instead of rough stone.

Oloric remarks, "um, some weird stuff ahead. Right passage seems clear?"

Delrin rushes up the steps. The orcs are at the bottom of the stairs (a stream of orcs is rushing your way given seconds you will have a hundred archers and spearmen filling the area with death. Fargrim, Malik, and Izzy are visible. Oloric, Tleyar, and Derin are invisible. You can tell where Delrin is from the bloody floating head.
Does Oloric step inside or just look inside? Does anyone else go inside? If you are outside Fargrim, Malik, and Izzy will be attacked with bow and arrow attacks.

Oloric will not be the first one in. Malik would want to protect everyone before going in being last through

OOC: How exactly does invisibility work with acquiring new objects? If I were to put the head in my pack, would it disappear, or will I have to pass it to one of the visible people to keep hiding?
Looking at the oncoming tide, Delrin mutters to everyone "I think I might be able to distract them for a bit, if nobody would mind me traipsing away from the group for a while. Those hallways produce quite the echo, perfect for feigning a larger attack force, and there's always more lava if I help it along..."

If you put it in or wrap it with something invisible it will be invisible.

"Nah, no splitting the team; that's a bad idea! Everybody in the obvious deathtrap, toot sweet!" Izzy waves the rest of the crew at the doorway and takes a quick look at the torso. Does it look like there's anything potentially interesting on it?

She has a amulet that is laying next to the torso in the black blood. Her dress is wispy smoke and sundered in two. around the waist was a now broken belt with a large pouch. It looks like the pouch is mostly filled with a large book. Izzy grabs the items. When the first visible person steps inside the cleaning crew quietly races to the walls. Their bodies collapse down and arms pull in until only the domed head shows like a glittering 1' wide gemstone in the walls. As each visible character enters an orb of light moves and floats 4' above their heads. The give off a soft greenish light but no heat. Looking down the first passage you can see at the end has an oaken double door carved and decorated in dwarven runes. The second passage goes 50' down a stone and brick hall to two doors. The third reflects flares of colors from a floor decorated in a colorful mosaic of stone. Along the floor runs a 2-foot-wide path of red tiles snaking its way into the corridor. The walls and ceiling are plastered and painted with frescos of interior and exterior scenes.

After popping the head into his pack (his black cloak's going to be filthy now), Delrin moves into the room and turns off the speed boost from the boots, surveying the area in the hopes of finding some sort of locking mechanism to be able to shut these doors and prevent the orcs from swarming them while they have to deal with the hall of traps. As the orbs of light appear and the cleaners stop, he mutters quietly "Well, that's a bad sign." Noting the conspicuously unusual floor and wall patterns of the third hall, he adds "That's DEFINITELY a bad sign. The trap's probably floor activated, and the plaster is probably used to hide the seams from the parts of the wall that shoot out and crush unwary visitors."

The group enters the entrance chamber as a wave of bolts and spears land along the stairs. The large double doors has a thick iron bar on a hinge that may be lowered across the doorway. Delrin looks over the corridors carefully without entering and fully investigating them. The first passage is difficult to see the roof through the cobwebs, but Delrin does notice they do not look like a normal pattern of webs or even the natural spider webbing. They overlap like a thick netting with thicker lines within the upper layers of the webs. The second passage is lower (10') than the other two. Delrin notes that the corridor and floor are made of smaller stones and bricks. The entrance is two pillars on either side that are 10' thick that hold a large block over the entrance. He notices the frescos on the wall create the illusion of interior space. One of the first is a wizards workroom that is guarded by two jackal-headed humanoids. All of the Elsir Vale heard tales of the Jackal servants of the ancient Dragonlords. The Jackals hold a real bronze chest that juts out from the wall. A library stands filled with many books and scrolls. A torture chamber holds a barred door behind which some fiendish creature lurks. Even stranger is Delrin notices the red mosaic path on the floor has faint dwarven runes on each tile. Standing outside he can make out the first part. Pointing this out to Fargrim the dwarf reads aloud,"Acererak the first and greatest artificer has placed within this vault the greatest blessings and curses of my long life of work. To reach the great vault will be beyond the skill of all, so you may abandoned all hope yea who enter this tomb. I do enjoy the effort, so feel free to give your best if pointless effort. To this heed my warn... (Fargrim can not read anymore from where he stands). Attachments:
