{Flows *around* the stones? As in, the stones could be used to block it off from, say, the portal? That look like a magical effect? And how fast is the lava moving?}

The lava is spreading 5 to 15 feet per round out from the north end. It is 2' high at the edges and the stones can contain it, or block it.

"OK, new plan! Everybody except Olly, start grabbing rocks and blocking off the portal! Build a breakwall, starting at the portal and extending down across the room down to the south passageway. Do the daisy-chain thing, handing rocks from the pile on the right of the room, and try not to catch on fire or anything. Olly, turn off the portal in case this doesn't work." Izzy grabs some rocks from the pile he's been hiding behind and starts piling them up near the portal. "I'd prefer to have a back way out of this mess for when it inevitably goes sideways!"

OOC: I don't suppose Del noticed anything that could speed up the rock-moving process a bit when he did the Perception check, did he?
"Got it." Delrin nods as he rushes over to the designated pile and starts to grab up a few rocks to build up the wall, the bigger the better.

Tleyar growled in response. There was no point turning back into an elf, the druid's original form wasn't very strong. It was much easier to push at the rocks as a lion.

Delrin notices that it looks like the lava flow at the source used to have a stone door that would slide up and down controlling the flow. It looks like someone pulled the door all the way opened and jammed a stone in the opening. The lava is flowing out of the opening. It is before the rock/lava filled passage on the north end of the room. Izzy sets the pace with his dragging and stacking of rocks. The lion grabs rocks in her maw and drops them next to Delrin who places them in a tight packed line. They build a 20' line of stones roughly 3' high starting before the gate.  |

How big of a rock? Does it look like Izzy could pull it out?

Malik would have helped on rock duty as well. If it looks like the rocks were able to stop the lava Oloric would disablethe portal as well. Can he hit the rock blocking the door with a chromatic orb of acid to dissolve/move it?

Don't think you'd have the range with ChromOrb, I think it's more than 90 feet away. If it's small enough for Izzy to pull out, though, I can use my Spider Ring to get over there.

You could try to push and move it. It would require a high DC(16), your would have disadvantage from hanging on the wall, and would take 1-4 heat damage per round. The ChromOrb could probably damage it enough for it to crack and break. It would not close the flow totally, but would slow it to maybe 1 foot of movement per round. If Oloric could get within 90' it could work.

Disadvantage even with the Spider Climb up? With that on, I'm pretty much just standing on the wall like I'm standing on the floor, right? Hmh. Would Olly need to attune to the ring to get it to work for him? Or could I carry him along the wall to get him close enough to chromorb the stone?

The lava is pouring past the stone making it hard to get a good position to move it. Oloric could use the ring with a DC10 Arcane Check.
Malik muscles up and tosses a quick line of stones 10 feet long and 2 feet high added to the end of the wall.
If Izzy or Oloric does their thing you could build some more wall from the stones in the southern corner.
