Best place for the sphere is the Eye of Grummish. The Eye is dazed and stumbling when the sphere over to him. The orc guards try to move to protect him but are too slow. The sphere catches the orc priest aflame. The priest is arrowed, blasted, burned and looking ready to fall the priest calls out to Grummish who finds him worthy of healing. The Eye stands straighter again,"Whoever they are kill them and feed their bodies to the fire." The Eye still looks ready to drop.
The mighty Hellena is caught off guard by the lion pouncing on her and hits the ground hard. The lion growls over her.
6 Orc grunts converge on Malik and the Lion. They clang off the armor or Malik and seem too scared to truly swing at Tleyar. The one screams in fury and strikes Malik a blow that rattles his armor. (one gets a critical for 10 total damage on Malik)

OOC: Who/what's keeping the portal open? Because we'll probably need to close that opening before the puddle of doom seeps in.
Since healers ALWAYS cause problems in a battle, Delrin puts two arrows between the rings of the Eye of Grummish's mail, hopefully silencing the monster. He calls out "I think we need to get out before those flames reach us!", moves around the soldiers, and either steps over the dead Eye or around the living one to take a position at the mouth of the southern tunnel and secure the escape route (as close to J30 as possible).
Attack: 17 for 11 damage. 2nd attack: 25 for 10 damage.

His first arrow enters one eye and the second takes out the other. The eyeless Eye of Grummish falls.

Izzy scrambles through the rubble to {E28} and fires an arrow at Hellenna, which makes an amusing "plang" sound as it ricochets off her armor. "Nertz!" he mutters as he ducks back into a convenient shadow.

Rhal is facing off against an orc soldier his swings his chain for the orc's knees but the creature's halberd deflects the chain. The two are facing off with a 5' space between them trading long swings of the halberd with chain whips.
Fargrim 13, Bigglestouth 11 (is running away with Nodwinn back at the Monestary), Orc Soldiers 9 (Facing Rhal and Fargrim), Malik 5, Hellena 4 (on her back pinned by a lion).

Fargrim points at the other orc soldier and says "Burn in the light of the gods, orc filth!" casting Sacred Flame. The orc can try and make a DC 14 Dex save, or take 3 radiant damage. Fargrim looks at his hand and frowns. "Tha' sounded more impressive in me head..."
{OOC: Hey, Olly, think you could Thunderwave the rest of those drudges into the lava? Save us some time...}

Malik (I don't think the orcs will affect his attacks so here goes:)
The Paladin anger clearly in his face chops into the prone Hellena the attacks almost too easy due to her situation. Not happy he almost lost a chance to give her pain he screams , "Die Bitch!"
Attack: 29 damage 12
Bonus attack: 20 damage 18
Bonus attack: 22 damage 11
Extra attack:23 damage 11
Bonus action: if he killed a creature due to feat he gets bonus attack
Attack:17 damage 13
So assuming she dies he lays into some drudges.

The drudge's continue to attack Malik and Tleyar none are able to penetrate his armor or still seem to want to get too close to the lion. Malik chops down on Hellena once, twice, then thrice. The last chop severs her head spraying Tleyar's mane with mirky black green blood. Two orc drudge's rush at Malik only to die as he screams for the orc champion to die and takes the 2 out in a quick succession of blows. The lava continues to spread roasting the dead orcs and dwarf on the northern half of the room. The 3 drudges left are beginning to realize they now have a churning pool of lava to their backs and a lion and warrior before them. Malik and Tleyar can feel the heat rushing at them from the lava flow. Init: Oloric 20, Tleyar 20, Orc Grunts 18,Delrin 15, Izzy 14, Rhal 14,Fargrim 13, Orc Soldiers 9, Malik 5  |

With a wave of his hand, Oloric points, "Burn in hell" he grins as the remaining drudges fall comatose dropping to what will be a very short nap. "Let's get out of here! I guess the tunnel?" Around G24 or so
The golden man trots towards the exit as far as he can get from the lava.

The orc grunts drop as the lava continues to flow forward. Just the 2 orc soldiers will Halberds still stand.
OOC: Oloric is the person who can close the gate. He knows the keys and the ritual to open and close gates now.

Ooc: based on lava flow it appears the gate will be covered next round? Is closing quicker than opening? He took 2 rounds to open and only BC it was a nat 20 and a 19. Thinking it would take too long? Obviously more info can help.

The roles was to research how to open the gate. He learned how to do it so opening/closing the gate would be just an action (Arcane Check). The lava is expanding at 5 to 15 feet per round. It is about 3 feet deep at the north end and spreading out to about 1 foot deep at the edge.

OK. Well Oloric acted this round. Not looking like the gate is going to be closed depending on lava flow so whoever's up next and we'll hope for luck next round

{So what I'm hearing is that we're trapped here, once the lava engulfs the portal, and that there's a good chance that the lava's gonna pour THROUGH the portal into the Monastery? We may need a new job. I wonder if the Emissary's hiring?}
