"Ach, well, I doubt there's a future in it, really. Also, I dinna know about you, but manhandling goblin tackle's not really why I got inta this business, aye?" Fargrim chuckles, and then steps forward. Looking at the new Baron, he bows. "Y'r Lordship, would ye accept my oath of temporary allegiance? I canna swear t'be yer man for life, but I'll stand for ye in this matter, if ye'll have me."

Blackarrow lowers his bow as the cry for challenge rings out, and as the discussion continues he's already removing his cloak, covering the designs on his bow, swapping quivers, and moving around his belts and sheathes to be able to move without suspicion.
He puts on a mischievous grin and says to Chetum, "So, it looks like Kartenix will be able to form his team without our aid, but that doesn't mean we can't help. Since Rowan and the twins rely on magic and prayer to power their attacks, it would be a shame if they were to misplace all their spell components right before an important battle, wouldn't it? Maybe we should check on them and help with that."
He uses his vantage point to try to spot his three marks, looking for a crowded mass he can fade into and out of to get the job done.
Perception: 15.

Chetum smiles up innocently,"Steal from the battle mage me." He is gone in the crowd. Blackarrow doesn't even see him in the crowd surrounding the Battlemage Rowan and the dark Twin of Grithstane. He doesn't see his return until the pouches begin to drop on the ledge next to him. "Let's see I have some eye of some type of reptile, a bag with feathers, what looks like powdered manure. Magic is pretty gross stuff."

Izzy nudges Hraken. "Hey, you wanna help tool up some cops? Could be fun!" He lifts Hraken's arm and waves it in the air. "He volunteers!"

"Considering they're Grithstane's priests, are you really surprised? They worship a walking corpse. It's hard to get fouler."
Blackarrow continues his watch over the crowd as he says "Now that we've interfered with them, we'd best make sure they don't get the same idea. Do you want to watch the rooftops for snipers, or to go groundside make sure their agents don't try what you just did? Either way, we'll want to be on the watch for more casters around that could attempt to slant the odds. Be on guard for anyone moving their lips continuously during the battle."

Oloric speaks up to the crew, "I'm new to this place. I'm not sure I want to get involved. That Lord Warden seems cruel but that's nothing different then what I've witnessed elsewhere."
Speaking to the other Lords, "Can I be paid before this entire room breaks into a brawl?"
Walking back to the crew Oloric whispers, "I will provide assistance from the sidelines. I have a knack for casting spells subtly and some opponents might find themselves unable to move or even might just break out in laughter during the fight!"
OOC: I bow have subtle spell metagic so can cast without notice.

Malik remarks, "choose your allies Lord Warden. I tire of politics and my weapon yourns for more justice."

The Battlemage Rowan is first to stand beside the Lord Warden. The Twins of the Dead follow. Captain Leia does not look you in the eye as she stands beside the Lord Warden. He calls his man Red forward. You know the old sergeant was an adventurer of some fame before he took an arrow to the knee. THe Lord stands with them to make 6.
Baron Jario stands with Captain Derrius, Malik, Hraken, Fargrim, and young guardsman Nodwick moves forward to stand by him.
"My family fed Rivenroar with your Lord Jario. I would return with you if you would have me." Nodwick states.
"Gladly friend," Jario clasps him on the shoulder.
"Noddy don't die for this." Red states."Don't make me kill ye."
"If I must at least I die following the right man." Nodwick states.
"We battle before the temple of Magnus and the Hall of Valour," the High Lord states.
You walk through the city to the plaza between the temple and hall. Just 2 days ago you fought goblins and ogres in this same plaza.

"Hey, wait, you mean I might have had a chance to stab Warden Snooty-pants? If I'da known that, I'da joined up straight off!" Izzy taps Nodwick on the shoulder. "Hey, Noddy, you wanna take a powder, let the grown-ups handle this one?" [Yes, Izzy realizes that he's probably at least ten years younger than Nodwick.]

Nodwick wipes the sweat that has been streaming down his face,"If my lord allows it sir."
The Baron smiles,"I was hoping you would step forward Sir Stab-a-lot."

"Well, if it was just some light minion-thrashing, I'da just been in the crowd, placing bets. But for the chance to poke some holes in sourpuss, I'll pass up the chance to make some cash on the side. He's been asking for it." Izzy hands Nodwick 25 gold and tells him to find a bookie and lay some cash on the Baron's team to win. "So, what're the rules on this gig? Are we putting smart guy down for the count, or is this one of those 'he fell on some knives, we're just as shocked as you' kind of deals?"'

"The rules are to stay within the courtyard. Do not endanger the audience, but otherwise it is a fight to death, knockout, or a fighter yielding in battle." The Baron motions for you to huddle around. "I have fought with each of them for years. The Lord Warden is a sound tactical leader who will put his fighter in advantageous positions. Rowan is a strong magic user who also can swing his flail like staff with the best of them. His robe is like steel so don't think he is an easy target. The Death priest will raise forces to protect them and overwhelm us with undead if allowed. They have an advantage being near the graveyard and will be strong. Captain Leia is a strong sword and board fighter who will protect the magic users. Red was the strongest fighter in his day, but his day was 30 winters ago. Still he has seen 40 years of combat and still stands. I would think our front line should tie up their front line and let our faster strikers get in position on the magic users. I'm sorry to say my Dwarf friend but firearms are not allowed in the combat. Does anyone have idea or plan to tackle this?"

"If the warden goes down, the rest of them give, right? Are we opting for takeout or knockout on his Lordship? Basically, who DON'T you want dead?" Izzy checks the other crew. What're they doing? [Insight check total: 21]

Oloric bolsters the group with inspiration, "You just stopped the evil plans of a wight, the goblins, and the "Emissary" and saved the entire area. This will be a breeze!" He walks up and has private chats with Izzy, Fargrim, and Malik bolstering their spirits with good tidings leaving each with a feeling that they just cannot lose this fight because right is on their side. (Mechanics: He is providing bardic inspiration. Each person will receive a d6 roll they can use during the fight within the next 10 minutes).
"I will be with you in spirit. You may notice during your battle moments where you find an extra advantage against your foes. Know that it will be my magic bolstering your side."
The golden sorcerer makes his way to a proper spot to watch the courtyard as the battle commences.

Malik speaks up, "Do not forget the lethality of this venture. If the Lord Warden does fall, the others may yield but they will have just as much stake in this as he now. If they fail, their standing and lively hoods are literally at stake assuming their lives remain. Joining him in this is more than simply the aid of a friend against a common enemy. The same for us. We cannot fail and not everyone will make it but Magnus has always been on my side."
Replying to suggestions on the battle he remarks, "Fargrim, if you would bless us so that we have every advantage as the fight begins I will take an opponent down. Izzy, your speed will help ensure we can minimize our opponents fast. I would prefer to slip my steel into the Lord Warden's side immediately but if I need to take out a more deadly opponent I will. Know that whomever it is will not live another day."
He speaks loudly to the other group before it begins, "Lord Warden. I give you one last chance to renounce this foolish act and take your leave. Your death need not happen today. Know that once this dance begins, my blades will not falter. Realizing this too late and yielding may not be enough to quench the vengence raging inside me. You have been warned but I beg, let us not shed blood for even if I fall you and your friends will regret this."
The knight pulls out his handaxe and it grows itself to a polished Greatsword and shines clearly. He bows his head, "Magnus is with me. Let justice show itself this day." The paladin readies himself for the battle.
