Hraken drops the spider legs and pulls a spear off of his back. Pushing it deep into the remaining spider's abdomen.
Mechanics: Attack roll: 16, Damage roll: 8 + 2(colossal slayer) for a total of 10. I was hoping for more from colossal slayer, oh well.

The spider is on his last legs.
Izzy roll an athletics check if you want to gain on the goblin. He rolled a 7 so every 5 over a seven you gain 5 feet on the goblin. You are 35 feet away.
Hraken, Oloric, 1 Spider, Paelius, Blackarrow, Fargrim, 1 Wolf Rider on foot 8, Izzy, Malik

[Athletics check: 14, so that gets me to 30 feet, which is fine. I'll burn my Bonus Action on a Dash to catch up to the little bastard on my turn.]

Oloric fires another bolt of flame but misses (Attack: 9).
Malik states, "Thanks for holding up that spider! Made it nice and easy to slice from up here!" (OOC: Sorry if you had special plans I actually forgot you were grappling the one).

(OOC: Sorry if you had special plans I actually forgot you were grappling the one). No worries, it doesn't matter. I was thinking of hurling off the cliff, or smashing it into the other. Honestly I only did it at first to keep it from moving to attack any of the other ranged players, so what you guys did was fine.

The spider bites at the very stuck Fargrim but misses the cleric.
Paelius freezes and damages the spider attacking Fargrim (the spider has 4 hp left).

OOC: I have the actions from the Double Extra to take down the last fleeing goblin, but I don't know if you guys want to capture it alive, so I put all the goblin-killing actions in brackets to easily be ignored if needed. The question is, should we bother trying to capture it and finding out what it knows, or should we just take it out?
Blackarrow moves forward to get a clean shot at the spider menacing Fargrim and fires, slaying the last of the beasts. [He then quickly turns to fire a pair of arrows at their fleeing prey. The first shot is lost during the turn, but the second lands cleanly in the goblin's back.]
Attack: 25! 6 damage, so it takes a nap. Double Extraordinary (Maybe it was the horse) so [he'll take a couple shots with disadvantage at the fleeing goblin. 2nd attack 9 and 26, so miss. 3rd attack 22 and 24, so hit for 10 damage.]

[Just take it down. They're already alerted to our presence, so we really don't have time for interrogation on the road.]

Blackarrow downs the spider and the last goblin with a flurry of arrows. Approaching the Keep you see that each smaller (30' high) gate tower has 2 goblins hooting and holding shortbows ready. The keeps second level was a rooftop leading to a large garden area that is now overgrown. Beyond the gardens are rooms carved into the mountainside. You can see into the main gate house. Within is a Gnome who is tinkering with the gate wheel. When he sees the party he will flee. The river flows under bridges and between each gate it swirls rapidly in this area and under the bridges then flows down the mountain. It is not something you would want to attempt to swim. The bridge is 10 feet wide.

OOC: What are we going to do with the wagon and what is our plan to approach the castle?
Was thinking we should approach but perhaps have a separate "sneaky" group approach separate?
I'm guessing they aren't going to he diplomatic so not sure how we enter without being obvious targets to the goblins on the towers?

On the way in, Izzy grabs a shortbow and some arrows from one of the dead goblins. They got anything else interesting on them?
[OOC: I'm thinking we're probably in too deep right now for the stealthy approach to be much use. Whoever was gonna do the sneak-in would have to go all the way back to the beginning of this causeway, and then work their way back to the castle through the rough terrain by the river, and then find a way across the river. It's not like they don't know we;re here. I'm hoping that they're not organized enough to mount much of a defense here at the wall; the gobs don't seem like they have much on the ball. I'm guessing that the baroness-lich and her undead forces are handling defenses deeper in the castle while the gobs stand guard on the walls.
So my tactical advice is for me and Blackarrow and anybody else with ranged capabilities to give us some covering fore as we approach the gate, try and whittle the gobs on the walls down a bit.]

[OOC: Well i'm not understanding why we would charge into a castle that is manned. Siege means losses. The goblins should have near full cover from the castle to be able to whittle us down from their positions if we get close. Even if we can charge into it is the gate actually open? No way to really get there without huge losses or damage taken since we'd be in the open and they can take cover. Malik would not think that very smart. Oloric isn't one for risking his life when we're not even sure this is where the prisoners were taken yet. The goblins we killed had any indication of matching the others? I'm trying to think of a way to spread out. Perhaps we need to scout a safe spot for camp and try to sneak in at night while gathering more information.]

[OOC: yeah, there are more of them up there than I originally thought. We'd be sucking up 12 attacks a round for about 3-4 rounds, most likely. Not good, that. Stephen, a question: now that we're closer to the keep, can we get a better idea of the terrain over on the right side, near that other vine bridge thing to the tower on the right? About how long would it take to go back along the causeway here and then work our way through the rough terrain to that vine bridge?]

OOC: I have a grappling hook by the way, in case we decide to scale the walls.
