Kaiya has taken over the tactical operations room off the bridge and the field ops unit is circling the central holographic display table. The mining town floats above in glowing blue. "We have 2 hours before we are allowed to start operations. At that time we have 12 hours to rescue the hostage before she is executed. The town has 25 buildings and the princess could be in any one of them. Our resources include stealth suits, the Aegis shuttle, Delta Blu to pilot the shuttle, and us. Any input on how we can find and rescue this hostage with a minimum of risk?"
Mechanics: As you arrive please post ideas on how to attack the mining town and find the princess. You know the opposing forces will be 16 heavily armed and trained soldiers. One advantage is they are 16 soldiers who have never together before.

Sasha steps forward,"Or team is a mix of very loud and quiet. Maybe our attack plan should be a mix of both as well?"
The Nautolan Thane smiles,"Who says we need to attack at all. Hostages can be negotiated for."
"Humph," Gammer begins to chew on a hangnail dismissing Thane.
"I my village we would challenge the one who holds our princess to a honor battle," Qesya is half in the tactical bay and half in the passageway. 'The little green one would be easy to crush."

Stev strides into the room and says "I think I have a plan they won't see coming." and he places a sleeping Mouse Droid and some heat exchangers and blaster gas canisters onto the main table. Gently, of course, to avoid any marks or damage to the table.
"My apologies for my tardiness, but it turns out that the crew thinks so little of these Mouse Droids that they are not even on the ship's cargo list. I support Sasha's idea, but with a little twist on the situation. Our ship comes with thermal detectors, which the Security team will likely depend upon to get the upper hand on our positions. I propose that we use their technological dependency against them. We can equip ourselves with stealth suits to disguise our heat signatures, and then we can release an equal number of Mouse Droids strapped with these components that will cause them to give off heat signatures that are large enough to be mistaken for humanoid creatures. Then, while the Security is chasing the droids, we can easily sneak around and find the princess. Those who cannot fit into stealth suits can either guard the ship or provide a distraction to cover our movements further. Additionally, we could also try to outfit some of the Mouse Droids with comlinks, so they can be both bait and spies. We would route their comlinks to a different channel than our own, of course, and I am sure someone aboard the shuttle would be more than happy to monitor communications and alert us to any interesting information the Mouse Droids pass along. In short, we use their resources against them, further distract them with our big guns, and use the confusion to look around, save the princess, and get out without a scratch. What does everyone think?"
Mechanics: We'd make a Mechanics check to properly outfit the Mouse Droids with the heat signatures, and then that would probably go against whatever skill they use to operate the scanners. We'd probably get some hefty boosts too, since we are using what is normally their boost as ours. Then, the smaller and stealthier of us would do a Stealth check with the aid of our stealth suits against what would most likely be a disadvantaged Perception of the enemy, which would be further disadvantaged as the larger crewmembers could set up a bunker and start a ruckus with their firearms. Whoever is in the shuttle (probably Delta Blu, I don't think he's allowed to help us directly) could give us information from the comlinks' Perception checks, and his own Vigilance or Perception would allow him to listen for hostile voices or the princess and alert the team to the place where the Mouse Droid heard it.

Kaiya looks over the parts and then to Analia,"Could this work and would you be able to rig an encoded feed from the droids?"
The Sgt Analia smiles,"child's play."
"Maybe we can also rig some additional distractions on the mouse droids," Gammer looks at the XO."A more explosive distraction."
"Good thought, but we can't use grenades beyond splat grenades. Being able to immobilize a few guards could be effective. Could you rig them Gammer?"
"I can't," he pats the alien only known as Boom on the back."My buddy Boom would not have a problem with it."
"Then I can run it all from the Aegis," Analia adds.
"During this I could keep Gorak talking. Maybe even make him think we do plan to negotiate." Thane begins,"It can be another distraction."

Stev smiles and says "Then I guess my only job now is to write an apology to droid operations for tinkering with their Mouse Droids. I'm sure they'll forgive us...eventually..."

Sgt Analia smiles, "I've been working with them getting equipment ready for our unit. I don't think those boys will give us any trouble. Most of them can't even speak when I'm in the room."

Kaiya pulls icons of the field op members onto the holo. She begins to drag members into teams.
Gammer, Stev, Kl'aal will get stealth suited and begin to hump it on foot to the south of the town. Keep comm silence and just scout until we arrive in the Aegis. Boom, Thane, Analia will prepare the decoys and make the first Aegis drop north of the town to drop them off. The decoys will make their way to the town using encoded comms and trying to be obvious sneaky. Thane will then begin to try to negotiate for the princess release from the Aegis. Sasha, Qesya, and myself will stealth suit up and will hump it to be ready to come in loud from the East.
We start negotiate to trace the comm location. Draw them toward the decoys north. Attack to the East large and loud. Then hope the south team can sneak in and find the princess. Any questions or suggestions.

Gammer, Stev, and Kl'aal make the round about trek and hunker down a half klick from the town. The sensor reads a heat signature on the roof of both buildings #1, the number 5 residential buildings on the eastern edges, and the number 6 building. Their are two moving units each with 3 heat signatures. One is patrolling the north half and one is patrolling the south half of the town. 3 heat signatures are within the number 6 building.
Sasha, Qesya, and Kaiya are on the edge of a woodland area to the east that is 250m from the edge of the town.
Analia's mouse troopers are rolling in from the north and are stopped about a half Klick north of the town.
As you finish the preparation dusk begins it's 2 hour long fall on this planet. You see the Aegis shuttle is approaching from the east (Farstar is to the east) It hovers 50m off the ground about 800m from the town. Over your communication devices comes a page from the Aegis.
The smooth voice of Thane B'Dorbeck comes over the line,"Citizens I am Ambassador B'Dorbeck of the New Republic. I will be handling the negotiations for the safe release of the Princess Gintor. What are your demands for her release?"
The voice pauses and then repeats again every minute. The tone and wording does change slightly each time so you know it is not a recording. Communication track shows it is coming from the Aegis and the ship has four heat signatures within.
With that Analia begins to send her mouse troopers forward as dusk falls. Boom sits next to her on the Aegis twittering to him as he sees the mouse driod, with a heat generated strapped on top, and a splat grenade on either side of the top of the heat generator. They truly look like large bipedal mice rolling through the woodland east of the town.

Stev signals for the others to wait. He's going to use his Macrobinoculars to ID whatever heat signatures he can see from here, and he advises the others to do the same.
Mechanics: Perception check- 2P. I'm not sure if the Macrobinoculars add a bonus or if they just make the check possible without fear of being perceived ourselves. If this is a combined check, since Gammer has the best Cunning and Perception, the other two would each add a boost die.
OOC: Where's Boom, by the way? I didn't see him listed in the prior post.

Stev uses Gammer experience to find he best position to scan the guard posts. You spot in a makeshift bunker of heavy metal panels on the south recyling building (#1 south west corner) is Pvt Eric Merimen with a blaster rifle with sight (500m away). In the residental home (#5 south east corner) is a bunker of wooden furniture with Teyjo cradling a blaster rifle with sight (500m). Building 6 has a concrete block bunker with Sgt Vallens. He has a set of Macrobinoculars and is scanning the Aegis at this time (550m). The first 300m has high grass and small trees. You have 200m of open space between you and the town it looks like someone freshly blasted down the grass and trees and the area is covered in ashes. With a lucky move you catch the guards moving between buildings for a brief moment. All three are big, furry, and nasty members of the security team.
Anilia stops her mouse troopers at the edge of the northern forest and hopes someone will notice them.

The three of us will wait until the distractions start. When they do, we'll go for a stealth check to approach from Merimen's side. Until then, we'll keep watching to figure out the patrol pattern of the mobile guards.
Mechanics: We'll keep the Perception going, but focus on the three big guys. Since I'm looking for a specific target, will my hunting goggles give a bonus die? Then, when the distractions start, we'll go for Stealth checks against Merimen. If it's a group check, we'll be rolling 2A, 3P, and 4B (2 from Kl'aal's stalker ranks, 2 from both of us assisting).

Stev looks to explain this Gammer and Kl'aal and notices there is no Kl'aal.
