(Internal thoughts) "Of course not...I take it he wasn't kind enough to leave a note? Well, regardless of Kl'aal's decision, Gammer and I stick to the plan. If we panic over this, the mission is over. We just have to hope that Kl'aal doesn't do anything else to jeopardize the mission, and I have a feeling Commander Admetrum will have some interesting words for him after this is over..."
Stev sighs in aggravation and gives Gammer the orders. Other than the sigh, he doesn't even acknowledge Kl'aal's disappearance.
Mechanics: We do the exact same thing, but now our Stealth has been reduced to 1A, 3P, and 2B.

You hear a message go over comms.
To B'Dorbeck: You need to clear the area, give us safe passage off planet, and 50000 imperial credits. Any attempt at hostilities and the hostage might have an 'accident'. We will resort to LETHAL force if needed to protect ourselves.
Your scanner shows the location of the comm to be the Office Building (#8 south side). Heat signatures are not being detected there but if they are in an internal room it could be hard to detect from 550m away.
Anilia begins to wiggle the mouse troopers around trying to be noticed.
Blu cuts in the Aegis searchlights focusing them on building #6. You know this is the signal to move.
Anilia moves the mouse troopers out of the woodline.
Kayia moves her unit forward.
Gammer takes a swig of something and says,"Let's get this over with." He begins moving forward.

We move in through the Southwest, counting on using Merimen's poor perception to get us through without much difficulty. We move to building 8 (the building 8 where the transmission came from) and use the mountaineer armor to climb to the top of the building. Nobody ever thinks to look up, and it's the tallest building in the sector, so stealth should be much easier once we're up there.
Before they go, Stev warns Gammer "This seems a little too easy, like they made too big of a mistake. We should be extremely mindful of traps set up throughout the building. Make sure to check all doorways and corners."
OOC: I don't know if Gammer has Mountaineer armor, but if he doesn't, Stev can give him his Climber's Kit that he has on him to compensate for that. Also, do we have any of those heat sensors? It would be nice to use them once we entered the building.
Mechanics: Stealth Check-3P, 1A, 2B against Merimen's Perception (not sure if he's packing any surprises so I'll let you roll.) Athletics Check-2P, 2A, 3B to climb to the top of building 8.

You have a heat sensor and comm sensor built into a basic security sensor. You are carrying it for your unit because Gammer needs encumbrance for booze and Kl'aal doesn't carry shiny things.

Stev and Gammer sneak through the ash approaching the guard post with Merimen. They note that Merimen's heat signature has not moved in a while. As the side by the building a patch of darkness waves from what would be Merimen's position. As he is giving a thumbs up to Kha'aal Stev is suddenly pulled against the wall by Gammer. The ground he was just standing on collapses and he see a row of spikes 2 feet deep in the ground. The sound of the collapse echoes down the street.
"That is not a stun stick," Gammer whispers.
The defel Kha'aal drops to the ground next to you from the wall he crawled down as fast as you could run. He motions for you to wait then leaps over the pit and into the street. He runs to the east and shortly you hear a combination of wookie bellow, howl, and catlike roar.
Looking down the street you see the patrol has given chase to the east and Khal'al.
Blaster fire races from the top of building 6 to the Aegis. The vessels arcs slightly to the north it's light falling away from the building top.
You continue to move to south building 8.

Visual of what you know. The Aegis is east. Stev's group is between building 3 and 7 on the south side heading for building 8. You know building 6 has 3 heat signatures and building 8 had the comm signal.

Stev nods to Gammer in thanks for his rescue. He also notes that, considering that Security just tried to kill him, he's now considerably more willing to be less than nice when he finds Gorak.
Mechanics: We'll keep the Stealth checks going, we'll add in Perception checks (1A, 3P, 1B, plus any bonus Gammer has that I don't know about) to watch for more traps, and then we'll go for the previously mentioned Athletics check (2A, 2P, 3B) to get to the top of building 8.

With the patrol chasing Khal'al and the distractions east and north getting to building 8 is easy. Climbing the 4 stories you make it to the top and see an access door and a skylight.
The sky lights up as a small equipment storage building blows straight up with a wave of force that shakes the buildings around it including the one you stand on. (The building 9 north of Khal'al)through the flames you see Khal'al stuck against the wall of building number 4. Lowggrr, Fang, and Samarian come forward and the Starwolf fires on him with his blaster (set on stun).
Tola fires on the Aegis causing it to turn it's searchlight off and pull back. Blu pulls back as Boom plasters his face against the windshield his eyes twinkling as he says,"Boom."
"I will not be fired upon again," Blu places the autopilot on and slides the side hatch open. He raises his rifle and prepares to fire on Tola.
"Blu, stun setting," Thane points to the setting on the rifle.
"Yes Sir," Blu turns to stun.
Pvt Kem opens fire on the droid and strikes a mouse trooper center mass. The center mass falls off the bottom of the droid. As it strikes the ground 2 splat grenades roll off the top. Anilia reminds Boom his job and the alien gleefully detonates the grenades filling the area with adhesive and catching the mouse droid that was the base like fly in a web. The three other continue to roll forward covering 20 meters and are now 80m away.
Quesya arches south toward the explosion now.
3 droids each with 2 grenades attached to their heads are 80m from Tola's position.
Cpl Teyjo leans out over the side of the building to get a proper angle he fires on stun striking Quesya with an amazing shot. The Sludir doesn't seemed phased from the shot and continues racing forward. As Teyjo leans back in he catches his weapon strap on a gutter attachment, looses his balance and falls off the building edge. The strap catches and he is hanging from the building.
Unda and his forces move to beside Tola's building (#5). They open fire on Quesya but their fire falls low. Quesya is only 100m away now from the number 4 building the stunned Khal'al is stuck to.
The exploded building is burning lighting up the area Lowgrrr's unit is in.

Stev looks through the skylight while trying to make sure nobody can look back at him (using Macrobinoculars if necessary and his heat scanner if possible). Since we've now seen that the buildings are rigged to blow, Stev directs Gammer to scan the rooftop for explosives or surveillance equipment, especially the access door. Stev also nods in respect of Khal'al. He may not have always made working with him easy, but he was definitely a team player.
Mechanics: We keep up the Stealth checks, and Stev does a Perception check through the skylight and checks for heat signatures while Gammer does Perception checks throughout the rooftop, focusing on the door.

You find a splat grenade rigged to the doorway and the skylight.
Gammer takes a suction cup from his gear and attaches it to the glass of the skylight. He then begins to cut around the glass with a small laser torch. Lifting the glass up he lays it quietly on the rooftop. "If you don't tough the latch you don't trip the trap." He motions to the hole spinning chance die."Low roll goes first?"
From building six comes a comm signal. It is the female voice you believe to be Scourne,"I have the princess and we have begun aggressive interrogation of the subject. If you do not fall back we will need to enhance our interrogation." In the background a female voice is screaming in what sounds like true pain,"back off or the next building to go up will have the princess in it."

"They could be bluffing, but I have no way to confirm or deny it. We need to shift priorities. If the princess isn't here, but Gorak is, our mission is to capture Gorak, hold him hostage, and negotiate his life for the Princess's. While the Security squad may not be concerned with each other's lives, Gorak probably has control over those exploding buildings we saw earlier as well as all of these other traps, so they should cave."
Stev designates Gorak as prey on his goggles, and looks down through the skylight one last time to make sure nobody's there and to check out they layout. He also tries the heat scanner again. If it's Case Green, he says "Wait, low roll? Are you implying that I wouldn't volunteer for this?" He then attaches his rappelling equipment and goes down the skylight.
Mechanics: Stev now has a boost to all Perception checks involving Gorak. He makes another Perception check through the skylight into the building, along with a heat scan, and if he doesn't detect any hostiles in the immediate vicinity, he goes for the Athletics check to rappel down.

Vallen flicks to stun and seeing Qesya (I have character spelling issues) absorb a shot from Toyja without shrugging switches to attacking her rider. He strikes the Female trooper Sasha right as she rolls off the back of Qesya behind the tree by the 1st north garage (#4). She rolls to a standing position and raises her twin blasters to fire right as she trips a splat grenade and it explodes over her. (Sasha took strain then was splatted by a trap.)
Kaiya slips off Qesya's back and tries to land in a firing position and fires on Vallen. Her shot is wild, her position not fully set and she spins onto the ground. (4Failure with 5 threats she is prone and has 4 strain)
Tola readies to continue to distract the Aegis with fire when suddenly Blu in the Aegis fires back. Two stun bolts strike Tola and down the guard. (2 hits for a 16 total strain. Tola is out). The 3 mouse troopers are 60m from Tola's post.
Pvt Kem sees Tola go down and sights the doorway of the Aegis the fire came from. He strikes the hull of the Aegis but fails to hit the shooter. The three other continue to roll forward covering 20 meters and are now 60m away. (mechanics: 2 failures and a boost to his next shot.)
Qesya is charging toward Lowggrr, Fang, and Samarian. She has pulled 2 stun sticks from her back. The 3 rush to meet her each making an attack.
Cpl Teyjo scrambles to get a hold of the side of the building spending his time dragging himself back to the roof.
Unda and his forces double time south toward Merimen's position on the south west corner.
Cpl Lowgrrr, Fang, and Samarian rush forward and flank Qesya. Samarian keeps out of her reach and fires his blaster it strikes Qesya and she shrugs it off again. Lowgrrr drops the stun stick with a bellow smashes her with his fists. (2 hits 8 total strain damage) Fang leaps onto her back and slams her with the stun stick (4 additional stain for a total of 12)
The Mouse troopers grenades detonateof the 3 droids closing on Kem. All 3 are stuck fast.
Teyjo looks out at the burning chaos and battle and whistles to himself.
Rappelling down Stev finds 2 heat signatures one floor down in the center of the building. The floors are basic office building with a stairway in the northeast corner and a turbolift in the center of the north wall. You find the doorways trapped, the vent system too small for a human, and the turbolift trapped.
"If we didn't need to stun him I would just shoot through the floor at the largest heat signature and this would be over." Gammer whispers."Gorak knows his traps." (1D 2C and 2 setback are the difficulty of the traps. They are stun instead of splat with a comm also attached. Really well done.)

OOC: How many grenades did we get to take, what types are they, and do splat grenades still release a fair amount of concussive force in order to detonate and spread out the adhesive? Ideally, could we have enough to blast 2 holes in the walls of the office or 1 in the ceiling?
Also, the splat grenade trap on the doorway upstairs it attached to the handle, not the ground, right?

Gammer pulls out a tube of corrosives. "We squeeze this in a circle and in a minute or two it eats a nice hole in the floor right through to our buddy. Always wondered what a grenade of this stuff would do to someone."
He waits for your order and advice on where it should go. It has enough to make a 3m diameter circle.
The are attached to the motion sensors (turbolift) and handle of the doors. You walk by the turbolift in the motion sensor arch and it goes splat/zap.
The splat releases with a force like a bucket of water splashing over you. It is just much sticker.
