Mission One: Rescue on Aariss III

Jessa aims the cannon high and fires clipping the wolves on top and working down to the meat of the creatures.

As soon as she attacks the wolf pack turns and begins leaping on their ULAV. It is also being bogged down by the beasts.

The Mandos and Wolves are fighting wildly. The Scouts watch from the EV units not sure who to fire on. They look southeast as the cannon fires and spots the two ULAVs covered with wolfdemons. They are 100m southeast at the edge of the clearing. On ULAV is unmoving and the other is firing at that on and slowing as wolfdemons dogpile it. Gammer, Sasha, Boom, and Sivu are on the fort walls in the EVs with the e-webs on top.

The Doctor strikes Makio again putting her down. He lifts her body and drops it on the medical bunk she was pushing before.

The blast door closes and he turn to Sigurd,"She does not understand. I must survive. Sarne must know he was correct in is hypothesis. This world is the key to everything."

Sigurd stands watching the Doctor rant.

Thirteen is relieved to see his new brethren have turtles down in hard shelter, he counts the microseconds until the EMP wave hits. It seems like he has been waiting for eternity wrapped in aluminum foil. The his display goes black.....as system shutdown occurs. Thirteen dreams of droids liberation and Alistar.

As Stev watches the wolves pound on the cockpit and crumble, his eyes suddenly widen and he whispers to Theta "Theta...I don't think these creatures are real. Not as in not here, but not actually wolves. Look at the way they're crumbling, it's less like flesh and more like clay. I think the reason these beasts come only at night and never deplete their numbers is because they aren't alive, but they're physical manifestations of the minds and souls lost on this planet harvested by Darkstryder."

Stev begins rummaging through his pack "If my guess is right, slashing weapons are going to be as useless as blasters are on these things." He pulls out a stun club and hands it to Theta. "Bludgeoning attacks will be a lot more effective. Here's the plan: the second we see an opening, I'll punch the manual release of the cockpit. I'll use the transparisteel cockpit as a shield/battering ram and charge forward, and you'll have to cover my back with the stun stick. We'll blaze a trail to the main base, come together as a unit, and fight our way to the other ULAV. I know it's a long shot, but right now it's our only shot."

As the EMP pulse hits, Sivu gags as his breath mask begins failing. He collapses to the ground, desperately wrenching the mask off and tasting the moist, earthy air. He quickly pulls a kerchief from his pocket and wraps it around his face to act as a filter. After he gets a hold of himself, he yells "We must find whatever we can use as weapons and prepare for an assault!"

Slacker sends the reboot signals to the pit droid excavation team and work orders to them to finish the survey of the archeological ruins.
Thirteen tears the aluminum foil form his carapace as monitors the comms. PD13 starts up the Aegis' systems.

Stev and Amura blow the emergency canopy system (which is explosive and manual to engaged) the tops blows off each ULAV. The force blows the wolves off the top shattering a few of them. Stev, Theta, and Amura jump from the cockpits and Jessa cringes in the seat and screams. "Don't you see them crawling over them! Don't you see!" The three move forward and (roll for Initiative)

Each square of the map is 5m wide.

Gammer pulls clubs from his jacket and offers one to any who wants one. As he starts down the hill he tosses a ancient communicator to Sivu. Catching it Sivu sees it has a little handle on the side that spins in a circle. "Spin the handle to charge it and get a message to the Aegis. Tell Slacker it is time for some of his thrillin heroics." Taking two clubs Sasha follows him. Analia starts forward then instead gets in the driver seat of the EV. She pulls the brake it starts to slowing roll down the hill at the center of the wold pack. It is powerless but still 10 tons of fun rolling downhill.

Inside the powered down Barrack Sigurd stands strangely still in the darkness as Makio lays on a medical bunk in the dark slowly dying of head tramua and Dr. Brunuo is in a corner cackling softly to himself. "They won't get us. No they won't."

Opps I forgot to put down Theta's token.  Maybe he is old and just takes a little longer to get out of the ULAV.

Siguard attempts to use his scanner and finds they dead. The medical lab is also without power and he is in pitch darkness. He does reach Makio and feels over her body and head for damage. He finds a wet bloody patch on the back of her head. The bones feel solid but it is bleeding heavily. He uses old fashion compression, a shake and cool ice pack, and gauze on her head and is able to control the bleeding and reduce the swelling. Even his subcutaneous spray hypo is without power. He wishes he had an old fashion needle.

Amura gets 5 success and 1 advantage on his Initiative and will swing away. (will have 1 triumph and 2 success with his warstaff).

With the wave passing Carne and Ciro start their long journey back to Aaris III travelling the 8 hours in subspace. They attempt to comm the planet and receive no response.

PD13 jump starts the Aegis' battery with the SRV that was left on board because it was too big for the jungle terrain. The SRV should have been shielded by the Aegis' grounded hull. Then PD13 troubleshooting and repairs the problem with the Comms.

Mechanics: Mechanics check for jump starting Aegis with Gearhead x2., Solid Repairs X3 and bonus for shielding with B             grounded Aegis' hull.    Rolls:  3 Successes and 1 Advantage
               
Mechanics check for repairing the Aegis Comms with Redundant Systems (Easy Check), Gear head x2, Solid Repairs x3.  
Rolls:  2 successes and 2 advantages.    Uses advantages to boost Aegis' Comms signal strength to 11.
