Left it is. I just didn't want to go into gate yet.

Rhal discreetly votes for not being surrounded, but he had nothing new to add to the discussion. In any strategy that they choose, he'll be up front with Mal and Del.
((Initiative just in case: 20. Is it possible to delay until after Malik or Delrin go?))

"If you don't mind, I'm going to try to do this without going feral this time." Tleyar hummed quietly to the planners.

Delrin keeps one hand on the reins while he drops the other to his rapier. He quietly mutters "Watch out for the large snowpile. While it could be hiding multiple orogs, it could also be concealing one larger creature, possibly with an illusionist riding it like they did the champions."
Initiative: 17.

(Sorry about the delay, busy last couple of days)
[Izzy init: 23, Fargrim init: 14]
"All right, this is the plan, then. Rhal, Del, and Mal in the front line, (Rhal and Mal on foot, Del on horseback), next line Izzy, Fargrim, Olly, and Tley. Khalad and his griffons head up into the air, over the courtyard. We move up to the gate, but not through yet; then everybody with ranged attacks hits that suspicious snowpile on the left. Whatever happens after that, we try and stay in the gateway. Izzy and Tley on mobile tag and mook pulls, Olly and Fargrim on ranged spellwork, Rhal, Del, and Mal are the wall of knives. Khalad and the griffons do the swoop and tear as soon as the bad guys show their hand. Sound good?"

Initiative Izzy 23, Rhal 20, Malik init: 18, Delrin 17, Khalad and Griffons 16, Fargrim 14, Oloric init: 8, Tleyar 7
The orcs are still grovelling. They lean forward with heads nearly on the ground and arms outstretched.
"Good plan long shanks." Khalad winks to Izzy as he takes to the sky with the griffons.
Rhal, Mal, and Delrin move to the smashed gate. The rest form up 20 feet behind the three.
Izzy your move.

OK, since we're the ones starting this, can we all fire at once at the snowpile on the left? Or does Initiative cycle start as soon as we get to the gate?

Cycle starts as soon as you get to the gate. I will place the Orcs in the order as soon a they begin to resist.

Izzy steps five feet to the right and whips off an arrow at the suspicious pile of snow to the left of the gateway. Unfortunately, aiming past the big fellas in the front seems to have made his targeting a bit ...off.
[Attack roll total: 8. Yeesh.]

Malik will ride Conn towards a left pile. Transforming his weapon into a lance for reach he will stab at one of the piles.
(Attack 18. I'll wait to see what happens before damage and other attacks etc.)

Izzy's arrow flies past and lands in the courtyard. The main orc with the spear yells,"Mercy! Mercy! Oh great killers mercy!"
Rhal?

[Mal, the idea was that we stay in the gate and have them come to us, remember?]

I reread and totally missed the last message from Izzy. Mal will just throw a handaxe at the snow instead and stay put but stays on Conn. Attack is 15 instead.

Mal axe arcs into the snow and instead of sinking into snow just disappears into the undamaged snow mound. They hear a grunt within the snow mound. "This will need be done the hard way," The orc with the spear jumps up."Kill them." Mounds dissolve revealing orc and wolves within. The orcs rush from hiding. Finally able to obey their true nature they howl like the wolves they run with crossing the courtyard in orcish speed. A rough line of 4 orcs soon block the gate. The first rushes Rhal,"Your the boy from the rack. Should have ran boy." He swings his rough club striking the young monk full in the chest. (Attack 23 damage 4) The second stops 5' from Malik and Conn stabbing with his spear. (attack 17 damage 5) The third makes it 10 feet from Malik and tosses his spear at the Paladin. It sails over his head and lands in the ground before Oloric. (attack 11) The fourth turns the corner and thrusts at Delrin, "Thought I smelled elf. Smells like woman and fear." (attack natural 1) his spear goes wide smacking off the wall of the gate and snapping. He is off balanced as he falls against the same wall (advantage on attacks for the round).
Rhal?, then Delrin.
