Delrin lines up another shot, this time at one of the wolves, when at the last moment he feels a strong nudge on his back. His hand moves less than an inch, but at this distance, that's enough to throw the shot off by a few feet. He whirls around to face the distraction, and comes to realize that the only person who could've gotten him down this mountain safely just flew away. Delrin's eyes go wide at the prospect at having another chaotic, potentially lethal ride, but he doesn't have much choice, so he quickly clambers up into the griffon's saddle, yelling out to the dwarf "How in all the Hells do I guide this thing!?"
Attack (Disadv): 12. So close, yet so very, very far.

The pair of orc scream as they rush forward. One tosses a javelin at Malik's horse an it bounces off his barding. The last orc actually stops and thinks for a moment. His battle raged mind remembers direction given by the warchief. "If youz find peeples blow your horn, dat willz warn de rest." He pulls his horn from the rough leather strap of his loincloth and blows loudly.
They are 60' from the wagon.
The griffon turns moving Delrin to his flank and stands patiently waiting for the half elf to mount.

Oloric watches the Paladin as he is knocked off his horse and remarks, "I'm sure fighting them from your back adds to the challenge bit I think more are coming!"
Oloric fires off a streak of fire at the orc who blew the horn singing him as payback for the trouble. (Attack: 15 damage: 4)

With the blowing of the horn the Griffon Riders see orcs and wolves rushing around the Monastery. They are moving to the gate quickly. The better armored seem to be yelling and motioning to the others.

"Aw, crap! Now we're in for it..." Izzy grimaces and whips off an arrow at the last wolf, and then another at the last orc. (That should be it for this bunch, I think?)

Malik picks himself up and remounts Conn., "I am going to hold up in a crevice to avoid being seen by the next wave. Pepper them while under cover and I will crush them from the side and behind."

Izzy looks down the canyon.
"No, that's not the play. Yank the arrows and bolts and such outta the bodies, pile 'em up here. Drag the griffon out here, drop 'er on top. Fargrim, Olly, and Mal, get ready to book it back up the canyon. I'm up the wall and hidden; beardo: heal the griffon up and tell her to chow down, then you guys head back a ways. I'll watch and see if the next batch buys it. If they don't, I'll harry them from behind, then after we take them down, we head back and alert our employers that their birdcage got burgled. If I don't make it out, get my damn winnings from that dwarf and spend them on hookers and decent wine."
He darts over to the bodies and starts pulling out arrows.

Delrin uses a combination of finger pointing and grunts that sound equal parts angry and drunken in order to give the closest approximation of Dwarven he can and guide his steed down to the rest of the group. When he finally succeeds, he pulls his wild, windswept hair from his face and takes a moment to get his breath before continuing, listening to the others' ideas before posing his own.
"I think we have another option, one that might save both arrows and all our hides. We're in a mountain pass, attempting to assault a fortress built into a mountain. Why not cause an avalanche? If they try to chase us, we have the tools necessary to drop the mountain's girth on top of them. Of course, the wagons would need to start running as fast as they can, and we'll need to buy them time for a proper escape before we can start the chain of events, but if we have our spellcasters at the ready on the griffons, they could start the avalanche exactly when needed while in complete safety themselves. That way, any orcs chasing us would certainly die, and the ones in the outer portions of the fortress would go with them. Any remaining in hiding would inevitably freeze or starve to death as well. Admittedly, the city will have to hire workers to do a great deal of digging to use the fortress again, but I'm fairly certain digging's preferable to having your foes controlling a near-unassailable fortress."

Two griffons swoop down landing on either side of the injured Griffon. Khalad drops down from his griffon and begins to chant a prayer of healing. "It's okay mi girl." He whispers. Rising from the griffon he points his warhammer in the direction of the wagon. "Who dare strike down a Griffon of the Hammers?"
Fargrim sees the paladin rise and turn. "It can't be Khalad. The old codger had to be long retired or in the grave." Fargrim thinks. Khalad was the one who tested him, tormented him, and removed him from the monastery when he was found as Khalad put it, "Not worthy to be a Hammer." The man who tortured him for 10 years then showed him the door stood there before him. He felt the urge to hide behind the wagon.

"In our defense, she WAS trying to eat us. If you can't keep your pets on a leash, you gotta expect them to get their noses smacked." Izzy looks back down the canyon, towards the fortress. "Can anybody with eyes up give me an idea how much time we've got before the next wave of bullshit hits us?"

"Would say about 3 minutes. From above it looks like the savage ones are running screaming like this group. Den the brighter ones, humph brighter orcs, are forming up and marching out. They will use their wall shields overhead as they move to protect from attacks from above. So we should sees a wild attack in about 3 minutes and a second wave in about 5 minutes." Khalad explains."Wez can't fully bury the Monastery. There may still be dwarves alive in there and we need to get to inside. These orcs didn't come from outside the monastery. They came from within. That means they have a way through the ancient mines below the mountains." He looks back at his girls,"They where just hungry and looking for help for their papa. That is all."

'What are the numbers on the first bunch? Low enough that we might be able to take them, and then do the rock drop on the organized ones, or should we squish the first wave and let the second wave pull back?" Izzy looks up at the canyon walls. "And are we sure we can knock enough off of these walls to fill the path here, quickly enough to catch the jerks coming up the road? I thought you rock-hopper types were all about structural soundness and all that pride-in-your-workmanship stuff. Did you actually leave the only path to your dance academy avalanche-ready?"

"Causing an avalanche to destroy that building seems overmuch to just kill a few orcs." Oloric remarks. "Let them come in waves so we can thin down their ranks. We couldn't attack head on but the more we can remove from the equation the easier the rest become! Not sure how one just creates an avalanche but I doubt we can do it without endangering ourselves! There's probably a lot of gold..er hostages still there!"

"Thing about waves is, they wear you down too. We can handle one, maybe two more of these before we start losing people, and then we're toast. But if we can block this pass off, then we can keep them from using this place as a base to raid from, and keep them from eating us as we get the hell out of here. Besides, I doubt that we're gonna get to 'salvage' anything from this place, so settle down, Olly. You're gonna offend Bird-beard."
Izzy checks out the edges of the canyon walls. How avalanche-ready does this setup look?
