Alexandria put out her hands and leaned back. ((17 + 2 = 19 and 7 + 2 = 9, so we'll use the 9.)) She grabbed onto its talons and promptly adjusted her weight to wrap her legs around its torso. "I um... was going to get airborne." She sighed to Malik as he attempted his grapple. "Do not make this uncomfortable."

Was not aware Alexandria wasn't done. Just ignore Maliks action then.

((OOC: Eh. It's a six second span of time, I don't exactly see both of us making the grapple to be entirely unfeasible, you know?))

Seeing the others charge, Delrin just keeps swinging his grappling hook to maintain the momentum as he watches the other two griffons pass beyond his throwing radius. "Good call Oloric, it looks like the griffons are just targeting the animals. That make me wonder though..." he pauses for a moment as he gets a good look at the nearby griffon. "These griffons are still harnessed and they aren't attacking humanoids. Maybe they're not aggressive so much as hungry, and they'd still obey commands? Fargrim, do you think you could order these beasts to yield? Since they're dwarven trained, they'll probably follow dwarven orders."

Izzy holds his fire and edges Big Jerk over to the side of the canyon, trying to make it as hard as possible for the hungry griffons to reach him.
Fargrim clears his throat and mutters "Well, I've seen this done ... from far away. Far, far away. How hard can it be?" and stands up on the wagon seat. Dredging his distant memories of watching griffon wranglers, he shouts in dwarven "Settle down, settle down, hunters! Food will come, food will come, but these are not food! Settle down, my beauties!" He's trying to get them to land and stop attacking the horses. There's gotta be a set of commands to keep them off the livestock, so assume that's what he's using.
[Animal handling check total: 20! Well, that's not so bad.]

Malik jumps at the same time as Alexandria. Malik gabs a foreleg and Alexandria the rear leg. Under the combined of mail, plate, and Malik's beef the creature struggles to climb. The 2 others screech and swoop toward the first one grabs Malik and the other Alexandria. Alex does not have the best hold and the Griffon rips her away while the other 2 griffons spin uncontrollably with a tug of war between Malik and the Griffon. The three fall 20 feet before you all and skid in the snow. The snow cushions some of the impact (4 hp damage to Malik). Hearing Fargrim's dwarven tones the immediately drop Malik and turn to the dwarf. The Griffon above does not hear the dwarf and carries Alexandria into the sky.

At almost a loss for words, Delrin instead lets out a grunt that's a combination of frustration and concern as he sees the last griffon fly away with Alexandria. "The horses can't keep up, so we need to pursue on the griffons. Does anyone other than Fargrim speak Dwarven? If not, I can take one and hope for the best."
OOC: He'll hold up on actually acting until we figure out who's riding the griffons, then he'll act accordingly.

Alexandria kept her legs wrapped, attempting to climb into the saddle of the griffon. ((Athletics check: 11 + 4 = 15)) If she manages to succeed, she'd reach into her pouch and hang some salted meat by its head. ((Handle Animal check: 9 + 2 = 11)) "You want it? Then bring us down and you can eat." She said gently, as though speaking to a pet.

Izzy slides off of Big Jerk and conceals himself behind some convenient canyon rocks.
[Stealth check total: 20]
Fargrim rifles through the supply packs for some dried meat, and then steps off the wagon, moving toward the griffons and making calming remarks in dwarven. Unfortunately, it's been QUITE SOME TIME since he saw anybody do this, and he wasn't exactly memorizing the stuff they were saying, and he may actually be running through the commands as he heard them and not thinking about what they actually mean, and anyway, long story short, Fargrim utterly fails to stop himself from saying "Attack!"
[Animal Handling check: natural 1. Well, we were all hoping this would degenerate into a fight scene, anyway, weren't we?]

OOC Apologies to all. I have been sick this weekend and my eyes are having a hard time with computer screens and TV.
Question before I can move does Alexandria say it in Dwarven or Common?
Fargrim moves forward with meat in his hand speaking dwarven. The Griffons leap forward and the first grabs Fargrim sweeping into the air. The second jumps into the sky. (Both are attempting to fly away you would have advantage on the one trying to hold Fargrim).
Delrin hears growling and some grunting from the front gate of the Monastery. A pack of 4 wolves are running with 4 humanoids whose Delrin's elven eyes seee to be orcs. They will be within range in 4 minutes.

OOC: How far away was Fargrim from us? I'm not sure if he's within my grabbing/running/running long jumping distance.

[Fargrim was out in front of the crew, probably about five or ten feet away from you guys in the front row.]
