Security- Opposition Force
Location: Abandoned Mining Town 1/2 Klick from the FarStar.
Security will be simulating a opposition force guarding a hostage on world to train the Field Operations Unit. They will also examine the ship for security problems and informally interview and observe the crew to identify possible security problems. The Captain has asked that the Security tries to perform without a heavy hand unless absolutely necessary.

Chief Khazam stands in the center of the meeting hall (#6) looking out at his units. "We have 2 hours to prepare for a 12 hour operation. We know they will have full plans of the town and heat sensors to identify our positions. Of course, we will have the same for them. I'm looking for input on our defense plan and where we want to hide the hostage." Gorrack smiled at Jitonne.
Mechanics: AS you arrive pleas give an opinion on how to arrange your forces and defenses.

The silence starts getting to Chief Khazam, he looks over the group and tightly closes his snout in frustration and impatience.
"Let me explain it then. There are 2 means of defending the hostage. Passive and Active. Passive we can set traps and hope the Field op team stumbles into them, or can create choke points and ambushes to trap them. We will need some of you to be spotters so that you can inform the others where and when the area gets infiltrated, then fall back to help with defense.
We need to be able to react quickly in all phases of the operation. Since we are in the defensive, we need to know where they infiltrate. Even being able to spot the Aegis as it deploys it's team. once we know when the attempt is being made, and they are not feinting, we can concentrate our forces and neutralize the threats.
Maybe even someone acting as a decoy for the hostage " Khazm quickly glaces at Scoryn, "Someone who is likly to be mistaken as a princess"
The others chuckle as Scoryn glares at Khazm
"I will be trying to coordinate the groups as needed, tho mostly I think the Fog of war is going to make that near impossible. As a last ditch effort we could attempt to capture the Aegis to prevent their extraction. But the end game might be this" and he holds up a deadman switch "using a a simulated bomb planted on the hostage, as a way for foil the rescue, and capture the Field ops team when they think they have won"
"Now please, you are all welcome to add your ideas, use some of mine, or modify. This is as much a test for us as well as the Field ops team."

Scoryn looks behind Khazam to the Zabrak female leaning against the wall,"Zabrak heat signatures are only slightly above human and Crewman Baraduk is closer in size to the princess."
The Lepi male's ear lift and he scoffs,"Princess Baraduk."
Baraduk's hand clips the back of the Lepi's head and when it returns a knife stops at his twitching nose. "I don't look princess to you fuzzy?"
Teyjo slowly pushes the blade away from his nose and bows,"Pardon, Your grace."
Baraduk sheaths her blade,"That's right."
Fang leans onto the table,"I will be on the active unit. I've been looking for a hunt."
Kym shifts his muscular frame in a chair that is made for a normal size man,"He does realize we are not supposed to kill them."

"It would be easier to kill, but that is not an option. Blasters on stun setting, stun sticks, stun and splat grenades. But..." and Khazam twists his snout in thought, and holds up his other fist "But i don't see what is wrong with using the weapons that were given to use at birth. As long as we are clear not to do any damage that cannot be fixed in the MedBay" Khazam sticks his tongue in a laugh. "The smaller buildings could be rigged with explosives to blow up, via remote. These can be sued as distractions, or a way to disrupt the infiltration"
"In the time we have we need to make sure as many buildings, especially the larger ones, have been set as traps linked to stun or splat grenades hooked up to heat sensors, tripwire or motion sensors. Not just the lower floors but also entrances from the Top floors to the lower floors."
"I suggest also we break off into squads of 3 or 4 members so that we are not all concentrated in one spot and have the ability to flank the Field ops team and prevent their extraction. Since we are using stun weapons we don't need to worry about collateral damage"

Sgt Scourne looks over her unit."Samarian, Fang, and Lowggr will be Bravo units roaming guards. Kym, Merimen, Tola will get high and set up fixed guard positions. Biv and myself will protect the "princess" Baraduk as she runs the security systems." She then looks to Sgt Unda.
The Aqualish commands,"Removing Baraduk and having Delta Blu on shuttle pilot duty reduces Alpha's forces. Thanus,Tann, and myself will be the hunters. Vallens and Teyjo will be fixed guards and Chief will provide physical security of the target. Reducing the number of heat signatures around Jitoonne may push the field team toward our faux princess."
The 2 hours are spent in an array of low and high tech preparations.
The fixed guards prepare their positions with makeshift bunkers and clearing any brush or barrels or crates in the outer perimeter. Vallens sets up on the tallest building #6 to provide overall observation. Kim (north building 1), Merimen (south building 1), Tola (North east building 5), and Teyjo (south east building 5) set up at each point on the perimeter. Mechanics: Guards have elevation boosts to perception and cover of defense 2.
The roaming guards/ hunter trap the paths between buildings within the perimeter.
Mechanics: North of building 6 is Alpha squad and traps are 1D and 3 Setback in difficulty. South of building 6 is Bravo Squad and 2D and 2C in difficulty. Bravo's hunters made some old fashion deadly traps.
Scourne, Biv, and Baraduk set heat and door tripped splat grenades on the entrances to their building. Mechanics: 2D, 1C, and 2 setback difficulty to enter any doorway in building #6 without getting splatted.
Gorak prepares the building and the Princess personally. Mechanics: Roll skullduggery for placing traps in the building with no difficulty. Every Success is 1D, every advantage is 1 setback, and every triumph is 1C for the opposition to get by the traps. Also choose the building for the princess to be held in.
The teams also rigged small explosive in every building number with a remote demolition controlled by Vallens.
Security Members Present- Security Chief Gorrak Khazam, Sergeant Scorne (Bravo Detail Commander), Sergeant Unda (Alpha Detail Commander Heavy Weapons), Corporal Thanus(Alpha), Corporal Lowggr (Bravo), Private Kym (Bravo Heavy Weapons), Fang (Bravo), Sergeant Vallens (Alpha), Private Merimen (Bravo Heavy Weapons), Samarian (Bravo), Sergeant Tola (Bravo), Corporal Teyjo (Alpha), Private Baraduk (Alpha), Corporal Tann (Alpha), Corporal Biv (Bravo)

As you finish the preparation dusk begins it's 2 hour long fall on this planet. You guards report the Aegis shuttle is approaching from the east (Farstar is to the east) It hovers 50m off the ground about 800m from the town. Over your communication devices comes a page from the Aegis.
The smooth voice of Thane B'Dorbeck comes over the line,"Citizens I am Ambassador B'Dorbeck of the New Republic. I will be handling the negotiations for the safe release of the Princess Gintor. What are your demands for her release?"
The voice pauses and then repeats again every minute. The tone and wording does change slightly each time so you know it is not a recording. Communication track shows it is coming from the Aegis and the ship has three heat signatures within.

As you listen to the diplomat drone on about negotiations Baraduk contacts you on a short ranged encrypted comm line. 'Sir, I have 2 units of heat signatures to the north. They are at the edge of the woods north of the town 200m out from the town. 3 are to the Northeast in line with Sgt Tola's post (200m away). 4 heat signatures are in the Northwest in line with Pvt Kym's post (200m away).
Pvt Kym reports he can not get a visual on the troops in the tree line north of him. Sgt Tola reports he can not get a visual on the troops in the tree line north of him. Sgt Vallen on building actually gets a visual with his macrobinoculars. He notes 4 silhouttes against the trees north they are 250m from Vallen at building 6.
Cpl Thanus,Cpl Tann, and Sgt Unda are the north patrol unit.
You burned down everything to ash between the trees and the town, so they would need to travel 200m without cover to get to the town from any direction.
The Aegis is hovering to the east still.

Skullduggery roll = 1 success, 2 advantage
Khazam is not comfortable being "prey" much rather be the hunter. He knows he doesn't do a very good job with the trap, but they are mainly roadblocks and not real barriers. Thermal Detonators, or plasma grenades would have a bit more authority as a deterrant. he sighs and leans up against the wall to wait for the prey to come to him. Hopefully his team can maintain discipline and not be easily distracted
(I PMed the location of hostage)
To baraduk: Good work, relay locations to TOla and Kym and get thier confirmations to nearest groups. Be aware that some heat signatures might be decoys. ID and confirm any contacts.
To B'Dorbeck: You need to clear the area, give us safe passage off planet, and 50000 imperial credits. Any attempt at hostilities and the hostage might have an 'accident'. We will resort to LETHAL force if needed to protect ourselves

B'Dorbeck responds,"That seems a little bit high of a price. Maybe we will just take her." The Aegis searchlight burst on lighting up the meeting hall roof and Vallens position.
Pvt Kim reports 4 heat signatures are moving south toward his position (200m away) he sees silhouettes with metal armor and what look like grenades on their helmets. Pvt Tola reports 3 of the same heading for his position. SGT Unda has his men moving up to firing position between building 3 and 4 on the north edge of the town. All are requesting permission to fire.
Cpl Lowgrr want to know if his unit should move north or maintain patrol.
Merimen and Teyjo report no sightings to the south or west, the lights of the Aegis shuttle to the east are interfering with their view East. Vallen is adjusting to the searchlight and requesting permission to fire on the Aegis searchlight.

Khazam ignores B'dorbeck, waste of time but is confused by reports. Thinks to himself: Grenades on helmets? metal armor? That cannot be right. Also by his estimate their are too many contacts to the north to be the entire field ops, if there is anyone in the Aegis. I cannot believe that they would be so obvious.
Khazam gets on Encrypted channel to entire team: Unda, Pull back and use building four as cover. Assume obvious northern contacts are Kamikazi. Vallen you have permmison to fire, but change position after shooting. Lowgrr, maintain patrol in southern half of operations zone (no farther north then building 6). *now a bit annoyed* Everyone I want CONFIRMED contacts, that means humanoid shaped bodies that we are know are sentients, not just heat sources and movement. They are out there somewhere and have to go through an open area to get to us.

Vallen switches his blaster rifle from stun to normal and fires up at the search light. With the blinding light his shot bounces off the Aegis armor without hitting the light (2 failures). The craft does shift sideways and the light turns north away from him giving him a better shot next round (advantages give boost to use later). With the light gone for the moment Vallen spots 3 silhouettes crossing the burned zone to the east. They are passing north of the Aegis that is still hovering and look to be a large six leg creature with 2 humaniods riding on its back. The creature is charging quickly. They are heading for Pvt Tola's position in the north east corner (building 5).
Pvt Kim reports that the forms look to be droids with grenades attached to the top of them. 4 are 100m from his position.
Sgt Tola sees the "Centaur" is 150m away and closing and 3 droids each with 2 grenades attached to their heads are 100m from his position.
Cpl Teyjo reports he has no sighted anyone to the south but has spotted the "Centaur" He believes her name his Quesya and that she has 2 female humans with field dress uniforms on her back.
Unda and his forces pull back to behind building four. This puts a number of traps and a covered pit between them and the hostiles from the north.
Cpl Lowgrrr is requested permission to halt patrols and engage the enemy.
Baraduk states that the droids must have some kind of heat generators on them to fake the heat signature.
