"Pottery and powder is normally used by mercenary unit west and pirates of the southern isles. The only group that made a large pottery order in the area years ago where the council. They say the council has been collecting many strange things in their Valorous Hall." Ned whispers. "We have a strange mix of lords these days. The old guard of Jarmaan, Orenna, Isidoro is being challenged by the young Troyas, Kabiri, and young Jarmaan. The rest manipulate these groups for their gain or entertainment and Lady Sanja just scares them all."

Hraken steps into the shadows in the rafters, having climbed through an opening in the roof. "It seems we are running out of room up here?" Hraken, though generally well known throughout as a goblin-hunter, is not necessarily well liked due to his strange appearance and usually avoids participating in such public events, at least openly.
In the year since Blackarrow's first appearance in Brindol, he had grown quite fond of the vigilante. Crouching next to his occasional partner, he pulls a small jar from his pouch. "I was able to snag one of these before the Lions got to it." He lifts the dragon-spit jar to his nose and sniffs it, scrunching his wet nose at it's pungent odor. "Here, perhaps this will help in your search for answers."
OOC: I'd like to do a perception check (smell) on the jar. Can I determine some of the ingredient? Is it alchemical or biological? (rolled 23 with advantage)
Blackarrow, I am assuming we have crossed paths and even worked on a few jobs together when our goals were like-minded. I am Chaotic Good, and somewhat ruthless when it comes to goblins. I assume we are somewhat similar in that we are both good-hearted, yet outcast and not well liked. Although we don't always agree, we have probably become friends. Let me know if this doesn't work for you, but I thought it would make sense.

Oloric will generally just wait and listen. He will attempt to be persuasive and test his wiles on Lady Natalia as noble females tend to love his uniqueness even though it gets him in trouble.

Hrakens pot is different from the broken pieces. They smell like the chemicals professor mengil at ths college would use to store specimens.

Hraken hands the jar to Blackarrow. "I trust in your investigations more than I do theirs," he adds, nodding to the Lions down below. "Check with Professor Mengil, he often works with chemicals that have a similar stench."
Hraken looked again to the Captain of the Lions down below. "I must be going. It seems I was invited to this particular meeting."
Hraken, prefered to keep to the shadows. Despite the years he had spent protecting the town from goblins since his escape, most of the townsfolk did not really trust him. We was not looking forward to having to endure their scowls and stares, even if the Captain did intend to honor him.
"Take heart Blackarrow. Though they may never completely accept you, they will learn to tolerate you." He said, turning back to the vigilante. "Ten years, and they still barely tolerate me." Then, attempting a smile that looked more like a scowl he added: "Then again, my face is not quite as friendly as your own."
OOC: Hraken will wait for any response from Blackarrow, and if he does not request anything else from him, Hraken will nod his appreciation to Ned and Blackarrow, and make his way back down the outside of the window to greet the captain.

OOC: Considering Blackarrow's Chaotic Good as well, their meshing definitely makes sense to me.
Blackarrow takes the jar, replying "My thanks, friend. I'll see if I can locate the Professor. Since you're a goblin expert, I should let you know that, when I investigated the corpses at the Hall, they were all elderly females, and from a variety of tribes formerly of the Red Hand. I can't be sure, but I think they must be very desperate to send their elders into a large-scale assault like this. Something that they took, or tried to take, must be of great importance beyond any sentimental value."
He pauses for a beat, and then adds "I would like to thank you even more for your wisdom. Being feared by my enemies was always my goal, but being feared by those I protect never was. Still, I am glad that you can hold some hope of changing opinion: you were invited to a meeting with the Lords of Brindol themselves. I think that, instead of tolerating you, the people may start praising you. Regardless of what your face looks like, those who know your deeds will count you as a friend."
He'll nod in thanks back to Hraken as he departs, and then ask Ned if he knows how to track down the Professor. After the upheaval that occurred yesterday, nobody can be counted on to follow their normal routines.

An unexpected laugh escapes from Hraken's throat, sounding more like a purr than anything else. "Perhaps they are all that is left." He says with a devious smile. Turning, he makes his way to the small opening he came through. "The females do not fetch quite as high a bounty after all." With that, he winks at Blackarrow and leaps out onto the roof.

Ned looks to Blackarrow,"Professor normally lack the gold or secrets for my keeping tabs on them. I would he is at his lab or his room he keeps at the college."

Malik focuses his sense on Lord Eoffram Troyas lacks warmth his is clinical and logical in his actions (LN), Lord Eshan Jarmaan world revolves around him, impulsive jolly and self absorbed (CN), Lord Damon Gunter is blunt and very black and white he cares not for the law as much as what is right (NG), and Lady Maribel Kabiri is very young for her position she is driven but still comes off as one of the people (LG).

Paelius receives a bone jarring slap on his back,"So Goobletook trained you. You must feel lucky to be trained by the second best cutter in the vale. Don't you worry I can get Jarmaan and Orenna to open the purse strings a little. With Troyas watching over them it will be only a little open. The man lives to count coins." Paelias answers the lord: "Well thank you, you're generous. I'll visit Jarmaan, Orenna or Troyas, if need be. Lord Gunter, do you have any idea why these goblins attacked the town? I'm feeling strongly involved, because my master Gobbletook was killed by goblins under tiefling leadership. Yesterday evening, I didn't see any tieflings among them, however. They've made a horrible alliance with the ogres. Now, I managed to take a book of goblin prayers from one of their shamans during the fight. I intend to study it after this meeting is over. I hope I'll find some clues as to their purpose of the attack last night." OOC: Paelias tries to get more info about last night's attack and Lord Gunter's plans by having a conversation with him. Investigation check: 22 (rolled 17, +5).

The Captain Derrius acting as Bailiff calls the meeting to order. Each Lord sits at the head table on what was the platform of the throne.
High Lord Jarmaan is using a cane as he moves forward. His grey hair is slicked back and his beard is trimmed and neat the limp is only thing revealing he was part of the battle. "The last day has moved from a celebration of triumph to a day of tragedy. We have been attacked in our homes, our businesses, even our places of worship. We where knock down by the vicious attack but with the valiant effort of our Lions we survived. We gather today to honor soldiers and citizens who came the aide of our city." Jarmaan moves from one group and soldier to another recounting their efforts. It is a long drawn out affair and you notice his voice has a droning and monotone quality. Finally, you are shaken out of inattentiveness by his mention of your group. "One group of visitors stepped forward with great honor. Issarian Lockwood come forward. You where the first to discover the deception at the marketplace. Your sounding of the alarm saved countless citizens." He places a pin of a golden lions head on your lapel. "The Wizard Paelias come forward. You set the alarm in the Great Hall and fought valiantly for our city." He also gains a golden lion pin. One by one Hraken, Fiery, Wordwise, Malik, Fargrim and Oloric all receive a golden lion pin.

"I'm wondering myself," Lord Gunter looks at the board."I think the answer lays in what they gained. They grabbed a Cleric who is mostly a midwife, Three of the Jairo family (Grandfather, Father, and son), an Alchemists, a Wizard, a cook, and a herbalist known for witchcraft."

[Hey, cool! Does that mean I'm a cop now? Heh.]
Izzy's probably not actually using his real name, what with his family problems back in the big city. When asked for his name by official types, he generally goes by "Issinio Lakewall", for future reference. S'no big deal.
In other news, Izzy got a 21 total on his Insight roll to figure out the overall behind the scenes power structure of the council. So, there's two main power blocks, Jarmaan the elder, Orenna, and Isidoro vs. young Troyas, Kabiri, and Jarmaan the younger? Is either group in ascendancy? Are they coming together over this crisis, or are they using it as an opportunity to snipe at each other? Also, if he had to guess, which councilors would be most likely to be connected to the local thieves' guild? [Is there a local thieves' guild?]
