"He's new to the rank--It's okay, I forgot to brief mine for about six months, you get used to it. I'll brief you." Vandal refrequenced her comms and forwarded it to the team as they came down, including Sato. Similarly, she pinged Blu and Sivu to keep them in the loop. Gorak and Unda not so much. "Quick rundown of what to expect beyond the obvious spooky stories about psychic ghosts--which is, unfortunately, true.--Currently we're investigating the ruins for what I can only assume to be finding the root of the issue and eliminating said issue, or sacking anything of significance to study. This assumption--correct me if I'm wrong, commander--is being made due to the task force consisting almost entirely of soldiering types." Vandal didn't prime anything, all ten missiles accounted for while she calibrated the camera, focusing vaguely on a random object. "After that, we're going over to an Imperial supply depot and taking everything that isn't nailed down. Then taking out the nails and taking those down to. Two rules we need to go over. First, I always have point, secondly--actually, never mind. We'll go over that if you end up stuck with us."
"Plus Sivu, and the two security officers up there. For the record there's a lot going on right now, and it isn't worth getting you wrapped up in it if you aren't sticking around. What matters right now--Recon, recon again, recon again some more, combat medic, sex appeal and sometimes comic relief, security, and doom engine--not hyperbole." She pointed at Stev, Sasha, Gammer, Sigurd, PD-13, Amura and in place of pointing to herself, she did a little curtsy with her free hand pinching her kama. "Missiles will be getting primed as soon as we make contact, Commander. Give me the word and I'll crush whatever is in our way."

Stev grins at Vandal's assessment of the situation. "Well done, I couldn't have said it much better myself. Although I should add that, in addition to the psychic ghost planet, we also have giant mutant dust-zombies formed by the artifacts that think that they're the same soldiers who fell in that battle with Kobal, although we don't know whether they're actually sentient or just really well put together holovids. Luckily, as Ned'Ix mentioned, they only seem to show up at night. Still, that opens up the possibility that the artifacts could construct any number of physical obstacles if we try to tamper with it, so that's why we're a combat team, not a science team."
"Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that you're free to stun blast somebody to defend yourself because, unfortunately, with the psychic influences being as they are, there's a high chance somebody's going to be affected enough that they'll threaten us and the mission. I promise nobody will take it personally."
----
As people move down and get settled, Sivu will set up the scanning equipment he brought and set a scan for the energy frequency he observed when the artifacts were on the move. If he can't get a lock on it, then he'll just use the coordinates on the last readings he gathered in his previous encounter as an ideal start for a zone of interest.

Sivu's sensors immediatly show both power signatures are in the dome north. The buildings in middle are metal covered with centuries of grime. You see grime encrusted turrets with some type of weapon. The dome to the north and some ruins to the south are stone not steel. Where are you going. You have 5 hours 34 minutes to dark.

Sivu looks up from his scanners. "Both the artifacts are located in the northern dome. It is likely a ritualistic chamber of some significance, considering the ancient design, size, and its homing call to the artifacts. I recommend we proceed that way, and I will maintain a watch for any abnormal energy readings during transit. Those turrets may also be of benefit, if we can restore them swiftly." He makes sure to pay special attention to the readings near the turrets. The last thing they need is to have to cope with hostile vehicular scale weaponry.

The energy readings are growing from the lift tube to the rest of the buildings. The buildings are all interconnected and the ground is also covered with the same metal and ruins. The power is moving throughout the buildings in the middle.
Vandal and Aren take point. Moving they step from steel to ground and approach the stone dome. It is broken in multiple spots with large and small ways into the broken dome. Inside the dome a faint green light tints the darkness. Using scans from their visors they see the inner dome is empty except for a metal archway that fills the center.

Vandal nodded in stoic silence before finally speaking. "Use the overlay to keep me posted. Silhouette isn't big enough to actually block all the fire, but the less time spent poking your heads out is more time I'm getting shot instead of someone important." She noted calmly before shifting her weight. "At any rate, just make notes of adjustments to our heading. I'll be focused, but peripheral's something people take for granted." She said, priming the first rocket and heading north at a slow pace, mainly to keep the launcher stable.

Sato had thus far remained silent. The briefing and the task ahead had been a lot to take in at once, but she wasn't about to show signs of uncertainty or weakness. She kept her carbine firmly gripped and her head down as she followed in Vandal's wake, picking a route from one grime covered chunk of rubble to the next. Plenty of questions remained on her mind, and all of them could be asked later. For now, she left her external speakers off and continued humming the first war song that came to mind, and tried not to think about the chances of being possessed by any 'psychic ghosts' or suffering any other similarly inexplicable fates. For the clan, and for those who didn't survive the crash, she would focus and hold it together.

Out of the corner of their eyes Vandal and Aren see smokey spyders crawling along the stones of the dome. when they look straight at them they don't see them. Reviewing their visor recording they see nothing in the recordings.
Arens war song starts to slide into a humming of drum beats. It is a song that has been stuck in her head since they arrived on Aaris III. She is not certain she new the song before.
Vandal begins to feel a song, really just a drum beat in her head. She pushes it away, but it keeps creeping back.
Stev feels like someone is watching him, no more measuring him.
PD13 is moving from PD to PD and activating them. He has a squad of Pit Droids following him.. None of them notice anything out of the ordinary.
Amura sees and hears nothing but he feels a cold shiver.
Do you move to the dome, do you enter the dome, do you rush and jump into the archway screaming YOLO!

Vandal double timed it from the last hunk of ruin to the archway, signalling a stop while raising the primed launcher and carefully poking her head in. Beneath the one way visor, she was carefully scanning the inside of the dome with her good eye, making absolutely sure everything was fine before giving the go order. (2A; 3 Successes, adjust accordingly) She seemed particularly businesslike at this moment in time. Maybe it was because she was more than capable of letting the gun speak for her now. A terrifying notion.

Vandal and Aren please roll a discipline roll vs. 3 difficulty (3d) to resist the call of General Kobal. He war drums are calling you to join him in battle. Resist the urge to try and enter the dome and the archway.

As Stev gets an uncomfortable feeling, he's not quite sure how to act on it. On one hand, his instincts have proven reliable in the past. On the other, what he's feeling may not be HIS instincts. He draws his rifle and tries to get in position to survey the interior of the dome and, if necessary, make a clean shot on whatever could reside there. As he moves, he reports to the rest of the team "I feel like we have company, but that could just be paranoia caused by the artifacts. Keep watch for hostiles, and don't leave me out of that designation if I start acting without good reasoning."
----
At the notice of possible hostile forces, Sivu switches from scanning the power signatures to scanning for lifeforms for a few moments, and then switches back if there aren't any unexpected readings. He also starts positioning himself as close to PD and as far from the other organics as possible, as he's now very wary of their actions. If the artifacts are active, I seem to be free of their influence again. Perhaps it is a difference in neurology? No, in our previous encounter, the Doctor did not suffer from the artifacts either, and as another human, he would share the same neurological pathways. There must be some variable, but its nature has not revealed itself yet.

Looking in Stev can see the arch dominates the room. It is glowing faintly green with the glow coming from the ruins along the arch. At the base of the arch are two of the Plaques embedded into position that look made for them. There is space between the two for another plaque but the space is empty. The dome itself has crystals along the inside that reflect the green glow but dimly in other colors. Green, purple, red, white, and blue reflect in the crystals.
Stev hears a whispers sliding past him,"You would due until something better comes. You would do nicely."
Amura hears nothing he looks in and sees an arch in darkness and some crystals on the wall glowing slightly.
Sivu sees the same as Amura as do the PDs.

Amura looks to see if the crystals are the same as before?
PD do you get anything from a scan? Location of voice? Smell?

Mechanics (Discipline) 2 Successes, 2 Advantages, 3 Threats (Actual); 2 Successes, 1 Threat; (1P, 1A, 3D)
Vandal managed to shrug off the worst of it, but found herself relatively frazzled while she ended up backing away. "Adjust route. Do not go in there." She warned, lowering the missile launcher and backing off, holding up her hand as though to say 'hold up.' She backed up a bit more. "Do. Not. Advance."

Mechanics (Discipline) 2 Successes, 4 Threats
Sato stumbled, but managed to shake off the effect. Vandal's hand signal registered before her words did. She nodded silently in affirmation and took one step back, but avoided breaking formation. Though she would never admit it, the realization of what almost happened unsettled her and shook her focus. The war song that should have been reassuring would have to wait - whether or not it was a catalyst for the true cause that seemed to lay in front of them, it was too dangerous to try it again.
