Just a list of favorite and least favorite RPGs.

Tabletop- Best
1) Traveller- simple, deep, can be anything. Character creation was as fun as playing other games.
2) FFG Star Wars- narrative dice are game changing
3) DnD - It is a great simple system from basic to 5e I have enjoyed them all.
4) Star Frontiers- the percent system and the universe was great.
5) Cortex- Serenity/Smallville original system- really liked the social and moral battles the system allowed.
6) Shadowrun- Character creation is weak but game play is solid if brutal.
7) Mutants and Masterminds- just fun
8) D6 WETA- wild system with the ability to be anything.
9) FASA Star Trek RPG- character creation was a good time. Starship battles was the best I've seen.
10 Silver Age Sentinals- complex but good system for really tactical superheroes.

Worst
1) Cortex Plus- If you designed a game for 3 year olds it would be this game. Over simplified mess of original system.
2) Gamma World- confusing and easily created munkins.
3) Vampire Masq and the rest- Just don't find the appeal.

Computer
Best
1) Baldur's Gate series- Minsc and Boo!
2) Knight of the Old Republic Series- based on D20 system and full of story.
3) Mass Effect- except for the ending.
4) Dragon Age- the first was amazing and the second worth playing.
5) Dragon's Dogma- Just a fun game even if the story is weak.
6) old SSI DnD series- Pools of Radiance and the rest where amazing at the time.
7) old Megatraveller series- Overlooked duo of great classic games. Character creator for classic traveller was worth the price of the game.
8) Bard's Tale- Fun to play a guy who is not a hero.
9) Shadowrun- fun new game based on the classic rpg style.
10) Blitz the league- I play a football player who goes to jail, finds loves, is heartbroken, it double crossed by his teammates, fights his way to the championship. It takes Madden and adds an RPG to it. It also has color commentary by frank Calendo as John Madden. Just a different type of game.

Worst
1) Two Worlds- just a mess.
2) Two Worlds II- How did i buy both?
3) Skyrim- I just don't get it.

Here's my humble list.

Best Tabletops
1) Star Wars Roleplaying Game (FFG): Frankly my favorite due to the focus on narratives rather than axioms and hard numbers. Easily crunched if crunch is needed, well balanced except for a few areas and easily adapted to any era despite being "set" in the GCW era.
2) Warhammer 40k Roleplay: Percentile based, easily followed and has the best freaking critical hit charts of all time.
3) Paranoia: Disturbingly meta, hilariously so.
4) Hero System: I like to make GMs cry.
5) Dragon Age Roleplaying Game: Lots of fan support given official support no longer exists. Terribly awesome.

Worst Tabletops
1) F.A.T.A.L.: No. Just no.
2) Dungeons and Dragons (and d20 in general): Barring Pathfinder, I've grown to loathe the lack of balance between spellcasters and non-spellcasters in d20 as a whole. The exception provides valuable workarounds that have brought a degree of broken-ness that allows me to finally kill Wizards without resorting to magic.
3) Anima: Beyond Fantasy: Requires way too much bookkeeping. Very involved character creation that is rewarding when done, but it comes off as half-complete and overall lackluster despite being less complicated than the Hero System despite having so many superfluous vestigial mechanics.

Best CRPGs
1) Dragon Age: The first was narratively strong, the second was playable, though a bit weak. Inquisition is honestly the best freaking RPG I've played this decade due to the scope of the threat, your power and your capacity to shape the world--you are the chosen one, and the game makes you feel that way.
2) Star Trek Online: Very involved character customization and a variety of gameplay choices managed to add a substantial amount of longevity to one of the most iconic science fiction games of all time.
3) Everquest: This game ruined my life. And I love it dearly.
4) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: I'm not even getting into this.
5) Mass Effect: A strong contender once you get rid of the sloppy execution of the ending. Fun, playable and by far one of the best new sci-fi IPs out there.

Worst CRPGs
1) Two Worlds: F@#! this game.
2) World of Warcraft: Lore crapped itself three expansions ago. Still popular. Reeks of unoriginality with repetitive gameplay and endless grind.
3) Skyrim: Too many memes were spawned from an overhyped and unfortunately very mediocre game. It would not have made the list if it were actually bad, mind you, but come on, this is BETHESDA. Don't you expect more from them?

I have Rouge Trader but have never played Rouge Trader. It is a good read and seems like a good system.

Forgot about that game. I played it once and had a blast.

Have the rules but again have never played. Watch it on Tabletop and want to one of these days.

Worst Tabletops

4e solved the balance problem but created a host of other problems. 5e is 3.5 with a few tweaks to make it faster playing and have a little more balance.

Never played. Sounds like Runequest or the Rolemaster system. Both are games for people who really love math and little details.

Best CRPGs

Yes! Inquistion is just a good mix of the Origins role playing and the Dragon Age 2 combat system. As long at doesn't end with a ghost child it is really good so far. I could the day you chatting with the NPCs.

2) Star Trek Online: Very involved character customization and a variety of gameplay choices managed to add a substantial amount of longevity to one of the most iconic science fiction games of all time.

Space combat is also very good.

3) Everquest: This game ruined my life. And I love it dearly.

Never played because of the life addicting qualities.

4) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: I'm not even getting into this.

Best Role Playing of the group of MMOs.

Worst CRPGs

Never played for same reason as Everquest.

My son loves the game. I try to play and just don't get it. Not sure why I like Dragonage, Dragon Dogma, Baldur's Gate, blah blah blah but just can't stand any RPG Bethsda makes.
