During this lull in action, I thought it might be a good idea start a character thread. This thread will offer short descriptions of the characters but nothing too deep, since I know the admin wan't the bulk of our backstory to be divulged and discovered during the course of play. Post only information that might be obvious or "common knowledge" to the people of Elsyr Vale or even visitors for that matter: Physical descriptions, rumors, and basic character traits.
Post anything you find relevant without giving away too much.

Hraken is a human were-panther trapped between beast and man. He has been held captive by a hob-goblin beast trainer for most of his life. He was freed from his captivity decades ago and has since roamed the countryside making a name for himself as a goblin-hunting ranger, earning the trust of many in the area, despite his unnatural appearance. The result of countless transformations, human features are all but gone and appears more like a humanoid black panther. He can not really be considered a true lycanthrope anymore, losing his ability to transform into either panther or human long ago. He has a short coat of sleek black fur and feline facial features, including deep red eyes. Though large (6'4" and 280 lbs) he is quite dexterous. He possess many attributes and characteristics similar to that of a large cat including sharp claws and teeth, incredible strength and agility, and keen senses.

Fargrim comes from the far North. He served at a temple to Marthammor Duin and, like many other young acolytes, was being trained to patrol the frozen tundra plains of his homeland, blazing trails and protecting caravans, small hamlets and farmsteads. Rumor has it one day he came from one such patrol to find his temple in ruins, with few survivors. His lifelong master was nowhere to be found, signs of dark magic in his private office pointing to unspeakable rites and treason. That day Fargrim began his journey south, looking for answers and justice. Fargrim is stubborn and curious; he can actually be a bit much sometimes, his intense inquisitiveness reflected in his off-putting stare. Likes adorning his beard and travelling the countryside (reminds him of the patrols back home).

Malik Stormweaver is a harsh man. Seen at many a card game he never turns down a game of chance. A barrel of a man, he likes to win and it's rumored that he'll cheat if he thinks he can get away with it. Often seen in his dark plated mail suit, he is never seen without his specially crafted hand axes on his belt. Known to be honorable and selfless with a true hatred for goblins and their kind, it's clear he has his vices. He has short dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Newer to the area he has been heard making questions about the goblin activity in the area.

Issarian Lockwood's natural habitat seems to be the shadowiest corner of any given room. His hands are always moving; smoothly rolling coins over his knuckles, casually flipping and catching a dagger, rhythmically drumming on the hilt of his rapier. Always ready with a smirk or a joke or a sarcastic aside, he deflects questions about his past with practiced ease and obviously outrageous lies. Attachments:

The first "sighting" of Blackarrow in Brindol occurred one year ago, when famed serial killer Randle Teaks was found dead with a black-headed arrow between his eyes in an alleyway. Ever since that day, the Lion Guard has tried to find out more about the vigilante, but with little result. The only physical descriptions they have received are that he is a tall, bearded man in a dark hooded cloak and leather armor, who wields a longbow or rapier with equal comfort. While Blackarrow strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies, witnesses say he does the opposite for the victims, as he always tends to their wounds before disappearing back up onto the rooftops, adding a few words of kindness in addition to medicine. Thus, much of the town is conflicted on whether he is a menace or a hero.

Paelias is a high-elf wizard and gemcutter. He was working together with Gobbletook, a master gnome gemcutter, when their shop was ransacked by tieflings and goblins and Gobbletook was killed. After that he wandered around until he was adopted by an elven wizard, who taught him magic. Now he wants revenge on the goblins and the tieflings and he's still intent on becoming the best gemcutter in the world. If you find any extraordinary gems or stones, please show them to Paelias and he'll find a use for them or, at the very least, determine their worth accurately.
