This is the east bridge and the windows facing the marketplace are open due to the hot weather. From his knowledge of gatehouses they are crawling into the level that would have the gatehouse controls in them. He also saw the reserve Golden Lions go to fight a fire in the Orchard far outside the city and a good half of the Golden Lions that were in the marketplace just went south to fight a fire 3 blocks away.
Dropping clowns is always good. Unless clowns are paying you to drop someone else.

All right, so how many of these jamokes are there up on the tower? And what's my range look like from here? Can I get a couple of them with thrown daggers? Range on those is 20/60. Am I close enough that I can get advantage on my first attack, since these mooks don't know I'm here?

You are 60 feet from the AC13 robed figures. You close half the distance to 30 feet and have an easy throw at them. The Dragonborn has lef the stage and is being trailed by a halfling and dwarven performer.

Issarian mutters "The hells with it..." and whips a dagger out of his belt at the first robed figure entering the window.
-With any luck, he'll fall off and take one of the others with him,- Issarian thinks. -I've really gotta get another hand crossbow...-
[Init roll total: 15, Attack roll total: 20, Damage roll either 4 or 9(if I'm getting Sneak Attack damage)]

They do not see you coming so add the sneak attack.

[9 damage it is, then. I assume these dudes are the same as the ones in the other scenes, AC 13/HP 11? So, he's still up.]

Issarian blade sinks into the climbing creature's skull. It releases falling down the side of the building to land on the ground below. The figure on the wall below the first slides to the side and the dead one misses him. Hitting the ground the creature's hood falls to the side reveling a goblin face.
Issarian can attack again or use and extra movement.

"Hunh! So, halflings are really goblins in disguise?" Issarian whips another dagger at the top figure on the wall [Attack roll total: 10. Whiff!] The blade clanks against the stone beside it, and spins off into the darkness. Issarian winces. "Dammit, those things cost money! You could at least hold onto it for me!"

The goblin rushes into the window of the gatehouse. The first wagon is coming through and you notice the ox pulling it is shaking and acting strange. As he pull the cart forward you swear his front hoof is sprouting thick fingers and his horns are shrinking.

[All right, so if I'm free to act...]
Issarian shakes his head and wonders what exactly that vendor was using for sauce on the mystery kebab, then looks around to see what the hell everybody else around him is doing. Where's that big dude from the stage?

The big dude is now running toward your gate with a halfling and dwarf falling behind him. The dwarf is pushing a long rod down a gnomish boom stick as he waddles forward. The halfling has a knife and a wand drawn at his side. The Dragonborn is notching a longbow. They are a good 240 feet away and closing.
You know that more wagons are on the bridge but you can not see what they are doing.
The dragonborn roars,"Someone close the gates, We are under attack close the gates."
The two goblins are in the gatehouse tower and the gates are not closing.

Issarian gives the big guy an incredulous look and says "Really? If I get stabbed, I'm landing on your head!" and then dashes for the tower.
[You said I'm 30 feet from the tower, so Dash action doubles my speed and gets me to the base of the tower and 15 feet up the wall. How high up is the window? Climb check total was a 19.]

With the easy climb check we will give you extraordinary success and put you at the window 30 feet up the tower. Looking in the window you see the gatehouse levers and winches, 2 gatekeepers laying on the ground with growing pools of blood forming around them. kneeling by the lever is a goblin. Her hood is back and you can see her face is covered in pale thick makeup. She is sawing through the lever but it is slow work through the thick iron. A second Goblin is next to the first watching the window but did not detect your sneaky peering through the edge if the window.
You hear an explosion and see that across the city the area of the Chatum and Sons Inn is now aflame.
Glancing back you see the ox is now almost totally transformed into an ogre.
Back in the crowds the few Golden Lions left are rushing south toward the Inn and the explosion and have not noticed the Ogre pulling a wagon into the gate.
Wordwise and his friends are now 180 feet away and closing.

Each square on the map is 10 feet. The gatehouse tower is 20 by 20 feet with a ladder that is on the south side of the wall next to the window. It only has arrow slits on the north/west/east sides.

Issarian peeks over the edge of the window. -Lever sawing; that's bad! Should probably stop that.-, he thinks, and whips his last dagger at her. And then winces as the dagger silently whooshes past her head and into a nearby wall.
-I have REALLY got to get another hand crossbow...-
[Att roll total:7 ...ouch. Well, let's hear it for the Skulker feat; at least a miss doesn't reveal my position!]
