Characters Present: Kaiya (XO), Thane (Diplomat), Jessa (Advisor), Alta Dyson (figurehead), SLAVE HK-72 (Bodyguard)
Equipment: Aegis and crew.
Mission: Set up a press conference. Bring New Republic message to the people. Negotiation with Karadol. Investigate Karadol compound. Plan the Kotal II attack.

Thane just needs to speak to the holographic droid cameras and quickly reporters from every house are lining the chairs before the stage. Krause (House Ik'Tal) and Tren (House Shador) stand to either side of Alta as he makes a variation of his first speech. Thane stands to Krause's side as Kaiya bookends on the other side. Lt. Dejas stands just off stage.
As you are finished with the opening statement Thane steps forward and opens the floor to questions.
Where is the fleet is the central question of all of them and Thane delivers an explanation of military movements and the fleets imminent return. He explains that the FarStar is arriving shortly with aide and additional military assets.
In the end if they are not totally pleased with the answers the media and the city have hard information instead of gossip and speculation.
The group then climbs into the Aegis.
"Blu takes us to House Karadol shields and weapons ready." Kaiya states as she slides into a gunner's turret.

Kayia and Jessa stand behind Blu as they fly over the city west to Karadol's Holdings. The entire zone is covered in a crackling blue energy field.
The comms have an incoming message sent from within the Holding. Alta takes the comm,"This is Karadol airspace. New Republic Vessel move out of our territory or you will be treated as an enemy combatant."
Alta responds," Then you will be shooting down the Hero of the Republic on live Holovision. If you notice a dozen media holobots are following our ship. We come in peace to parley with the Lady of your manor. Will you meet us as friends or foes?" He thumbs up the group as you wait for a reply.
It takes some time. You wait patiently (or not) for their reply.
"The Lady of Karadol will meet with you. No weapons, no soldiers, no holobots and Alta Dyson must attend. Do you agree?"
Kaiya looks to the rest of the group,"Thane, Jessa, and Alta are you up to this?"

Thane, Jessa, and Dyson step off the Aegis ramp and walk the 10m to the large gatehouse of the manor. House Karadol guards scan them for weapons and electronics then encircle them as they travel into the compound. The guards wear breath masks, but remove them when they enter the manor. You walk past the imperial barracks and imperial officer's housing and note that imperials move in and out of the buildings freely. The trio keep moving through well manicured lawns and spacious buildings with classic architecture. From within the force shield you would never know the bombed city existed.
Entering the Lady Tamayra Bildrusor's domain you note that the tile pattern and beams in the ceiling all intersect at the throne of the house Karadol. With the crossbeams and pattern they do remind you of a spider's web. The lady from the holo sits on her throne again. She looks down upon you all with disdain except for Alta Dyson. She looks at the Hero of the Rebellion with admiration her eyes following up and down his frame.
Alta is used to this. In his mind Alta is certain most women just can not help but look over the magnificence that is ME. He pretends to brush back his hair which gives him a chance to flex for the Lady.
The guards announce you and continue to circle you.
Jessa looks to the balacony that circle the large room and see General Wilem standing on the balcony looking down at the proceedings. He is wearing a crystal around his neck and the smoke spyder curls around him. His body is slightly transparent and Jessa is sure she is the only one who can see him.
"You have your audience New Republic what say you?" She gets straight to the point.

Thane steps forward,"Your grace we come to you to address your decision to support the return of Imperial Government and your giving aide and comfort to the enemy." He motions back in the direction of the Imperial Barracks. "We may loose here today. The Empire may return for a time, but the New Republic Fleet is coming. It will sweep an single assault carrier aside like a grain of sand. It will allow the return of the Noble Council. It will punish those who resisted. Short term you could have a month or maybe even a year. Then House Karadol will be replaced on the Council and you will be in a cell. I am normally a man of flowery and flattery with my words, but this situation requires a blunt look at reality. You will die within the year if you support the Empire." (3 success, 2 threat)
"What if the New Republic Fleet can not arrive? What if the Empire will control the ability of any ship to travel in the sector? Without the fleet their is only your ship and it is not enough." She smiles and stands walking down from her throne and once around Alta."I could use your talents and skills." She looks to Jessa,"You could return to a position of prominence in the Empire."
She turns to Thane,"If I see the Republic will win the vote I will vote for the republic and assure that House Kathor also support the republic. I will expel the Imperials who have received sanctuary here on Karadol lands."

"If the Republic does not win know that I will have a place for you here." She looks directly at Alta and smiles. 'Your meeting is at an end."
The guards begin to guide you from the room. Jessa makes a glancing look up to the balcony to not be noticed and sees the General standing at ease with the Darksryder force swirling around him. His face holds a sinister smile.

The group leaves the compound and find the Aegis is not waiting for them. Having no comms or weapons they are forced the wait or walk toward the park through swoop gang territory. The compound gate closes and locks shut. The guards are not outside the gate door. The plaza between Karadol Manor and Ik'Tal Holdings is empty except for a dozen street toughs. Each is wearing a hooded cloak and they have casually surrounded the platform that you stand on. They have short clubs and brass knuckles showing none have a blaster out. Jessa looks up and notices that a number of Holodroids are floating above taking in the scene.  |

As the thugs begin to move up the stairs Kaiya order the team,"Everyone find a weapon and take a stair we cannot let them surround us. The stairs will limit their numbers that can attack at once. Go Go!"
There are four corners with long potted trees. The trees are bamboo like in nature and Kaiya breaks a limb off to use as a impromptu staff. Jessa and Thane see that as a good idea and do the same. Alta grabs the pot, 6 foot trees and all, heaves it over his head and throws the whole thing at the group of four coming up his stairs. The other three noticed he has started humming the theme song from the "Alta Dyson Adventure Hour".

Kaiya grabs the limb and swings at the first thug. The thug goes down with his arm broken by the blow, but the second thug slides past him and strikes Kaiya with his club (3 strain).
Jessa launches forward with the stick. She has not had staff training since basic at the academy many years ago and it shows. The Thug pushes the blow aside and one thug rushes past her as the other stays to deal with her.
The four thugs rushing Thane make the top of the stairs before him. Kaiya's plan of keeping the thugs on the stairs falls apart quickly as they surround Thane who is wildly swinging his limb. He wild swings keep them at bay and even grazes one of the thugs as they surround him.
Thane strikes the thug again downing him with a blow to the head. (2 thugs down)
Kaiya swings backward striking the thug (3 wounds) who then steps in and clubs the XO. The blow bowls her over knocking Kaiya face first onto the steps. (2 strain, 5 total)
Alta tosses the heavy vase and plant at the 4 thugs coming up the stair. The vase falls before the thugs and rolls down the stairs forcing the thugs to jump to the sides and land prone around the stairway.
Jessa's first thug pushes her prone. The second charges Alta's back tackling him off the side of the platform. Both of them fall the 6 feet to the stone ground with the thug on top of Alta. (Alta takes 2 wounds)
Two of the prone thugs beside the stairs stand quickly and begin to kick the prone Alta (6 strain). The other two stand and circle around the stair to surround Alta.
The holodroid buzz around the scene with the Hero of the republic surrounded by thugs.
Round 2
Kaiya rolls and strikes upward missing the thug who then kicks her in the ribs (2 strain 7 total)
Jessa struggles against the thug.
The thugs surrounding Thane strike him repeatedly stunning the ambassador. (9 strain, stunned)
Thane is staggered trying to shake off the pain and keep fighting.
Kaiya's Thug strikes her with the club again stumbles forward and lands kneeling on Kaiya's chest. (4 strain, 11 total)
Alta flexes his massive frame tossing the thug in the air and standing. The thug flies up into the face of another thug knocking both flat and unconscious. One of the other thugs clubs his back as the three thugs left surround him. (2 thugs down, 2 strain 2 wounds and 8 total strain)
Jessa's thug clicks binder onto her wrists and leaves her heading toward Kaiya.
Alta is surrounded with thugs swinging from all sides. They strike the back of his leg and then his head. (8 strain for 16 total strain Alta is down!)
Next round
Kaiya swings up at the off balanced thug kneeling on her and strikes him on the head. The thug slumps and Kaiya rolls to her feet.
Jessa crawls up her hands bound and rushes to the thugs surrounding Thane. The thug did not see her coming and her kick catches him in the universal lower region for extreme pain. The thugs is bent over and stunned from the low blow.
Thane's other thugs continue the assault. Thane is struck again (1 strain, 10 strain).
Thane shakes it off and swings backing up the thugs.
Alta Dyson is fluttering close to unconsciousness seeing the thugs snicker as the walk away from him and the platform. He will not allow this to be his destiny. To have his entire life come down to an old star laying in the dirt beaten. Though force of will and resilience of his massive physic he stands and with a primal roar rushes the backs of the 3 thugs. (destiny point, heal strain with resilience check) He tackles the 3 thugs taking all three face first into the steps. Skulls crack and all three are downed by the hero. (8 thugs down)
next round
Kaiya rushes one of the thugs and bowls him over. The thug grabs her on the way down and they roll with Kaiya coming out on top. (1 strain to Kaiya, 8 total)
Jessa kicks at the thug again and the thugs catches her leg and flips her onto the ground (2 strain, 2 total)
Kaiya's thug swings at Kaiya and misses. Kaiya reaches down and smacks his head off the pavement.
Jessa's thug Leans down to attack her and she gives him another blow to the nether regions putting him down.
The two still attacking Thane stike him again but do not notice the raging Alta rushing at them. (3 strain, 13 total strain)
Alta rips a loose brick from the stairs and charges one of the thugs. The brick strikes his skull with a sick thud and the Thug falls dead. (10 down)
next round,
Kaiya slams the thug's head off the pavement twice more until he stops moving.
Jessa pushes the thug off of her and moves around the last thug.
The thug swings at Thane and knocks the Ambassador out. He tries to run away but Kaiya, Jessa, and Alta surround him.
Alta fist is the last thing the thug will see in life. He face crushes back into his cranium as he falls dead. (1 triumph, 2 success, 4 advantages, critical and dead).
They stand in a circle on the platform around the fallen Thane and the thugs strewn around them as the gatehouse opens and Karadol guards rush out to "protect" them.
The guards unlock Jessa and begin to arrest and collect the thugs.
A officer walks forward his face half covered with the breath mask like the rest of the guards and holds up a holotransmitter. The form of the Lady of Karadol appears before you.
"This is a terrible thing to see. Thugs like this never ran wild under the empire. I apologize our guards had a gate malfunction and did not reach you sooner. Again my humblest apologies that you where another victim of the chaos that follows the new republic." The holo flickers out.
The Aegis arrives with Blu explaining that they received an emergency call from Scourne and attempted to stop a Slaver ship from escaping. They turn back as soon as they saw the news report and were not able to capture the ship.
Kaiya and Alta help Thane aboard as Jessa follows up the ramp. The diplomatic mission did not end at all as the intended it. Watching the holonet reports they see it cuts from Alta falling to the guards arriving to save them and focuses on the Lady of House Karadol's speech.

On the short flight back to the Riverside Park Alta sits staring at his bloodied hands. It was not like in his movies. He had never killed before. He had never seen the life leave the eyes of someone and know he caused it. He feels sick, sore, nervous, and numb all at once.
Stepping off the ramp he can a split in the people. Most of the crowd is coming up to him with the same eyes of adoration, but their is a group with datapads in hands looking at him with a smirk. He takes a pad roughly from one of their hands and sees that the INN is still transmitting in the region. They are showing a clipped version of events that makes it looks like he fell to the thugs. It makes him look clumsy and buffoonish. Keeping the datapad and rushing back up the ramp he finds Jessa and Kaiya,"This can not be allowed to stand. I killed to protect what was mine. To protect you. I am the hero not the joke they are presenting."
"The only way to prove that would be to get the original raw footage of the ambush," Jessa declares after some thought. "We would need the holodroids or access to their network."
Loh'Khar steps into the Aegis."We need that footage for more than your pride friend Dyson. I have been looking up some old friends and have a deal that could assist us. If we have the votes of House Ik'Tal, Brakia, and Shador the House Kathor will agree to vote for the new Republic. All they require in return is a licensing agreement for the Heroes of the FarStar merchandising in the sector. Stev, Alta, Fang, and PD13 have become Holonet sensations and the House Kathor sees many profitable ventures using our celebrities. It would cost us nothing but would help make the vote for the alliance to be close to unanimous.
The deal will fall through if the current reports on the Imperial News Network are allowed to stand. They have other reports showing Stev killing innocent mental health patients and our SRV cutting down zoo animals with laser cannons. If we can not find a way to fight them in the court of public opinion we may win every battle but lose the war."
