Location: FarStar Bridge 48 hours to takeoff.
Bridge Operations- Lt Thyte is overseeing a wide range of projects needed to be completed before the ship is "seaworthy". As crew arrive from other vessels and from the open hirings Thyte will assign them to various missions.
Helm- The Helm officers are running computer simulations to prepare them for the unique flight signature of the FarStar. The Flight Deck and advanced armor make is a slow cumbersome vessel.
Astrogation- The Astrogators are running through all of the Imperial Data in the ships memory banks trying to find if it is authentic and current. If Logistics is able to procure additional Astrogation of the Kathol Sector it will give data for comparision.
Weapons Operations- Running shield and weapon drills.
Damage Control- Creating protocols for team response, inspecting or creating damage control lockers throughout the vessel.
Communications- Must program in New Republic Communications codes and make sure probe droids are retrofitted with hyperspace transmitters. The droids will be placed throughout the Kathol Sector to become a communication relay for the New Republic.

Jessa walks to the captain's quarters. Along the way, she slows her stride and casually peers at the astrogation section and makes a mental note of what planets they're to embark to. (Deception check? Perception check?)
Jessa knocks on the captain's door.

From the point she steps onto the bridge Jessa feels the eyes on her. Notices conversations lower and each crew member's eyes peer at her. Most at least try to hide their disdain, Lt. Thyte biological and cybernetic eyes boldly follow every step Jessa takes.
Mechanics: Deception vs. Lt. Thyte's Vigilance (4 Difficulty Die) to get a good look without being challenged.
The Captain is in the forward Galley next to the bridge getting a cup of Cafe right now.

Can Jessa make a sort of passive perception in order to notice that everyone's looking and cancel the original action in that case? I figured everyone was too busy to care, but in that case... I think it's a better idea for her to keep it on the downlow.

No problem! The crew is not real trusting of Jessa and Lt. Thyte in particular is not a fan.
Mechanics: Perception vs. 2 Difficulty die to get a little look see at what Astrogation is doing.
When you enter the galley the Captain looks over from the cafe dispenser, "Lt. Dejas are you looking for a little cafe as well? The next 48 hours we may need quite a few cups before this ship is ready for liftoff."

Mechanics: 1y+2g Perception v 2 difficulty= 2 success. I don't think you want me to narrate my own results, so I'll simply suggest my intended result, and you can just change it if need be.
Jessa notices that she is noticed. She feels that she should be careful around her ex-adversaries.
She bumps into the Captain.
"Sir. I was actually looking for you to see what I could do around here. I wouldn't mind resupplying the dispenser if it meant familiarizing myself with the ship. I see you're new in town. Perhaps it would a better usage of my time if you consulted my knowledge of the surrounding area."

Jessa sees the astrogation charts for Brolsam are up as well as an in system jump they are calculating for about 48 hours from now. From what she sees it looks like they will make a microjump from one lagrange point to another in system then plan to jump to Brolsam.
The Captain walks over smiling and casual. His eyes and the "feel" coming from him does not match the smile. At least he is trying to treat her like another crew member. "Lieutenant I was going to see about your assignment a soon as I had bridge operations and our field op in action. We have need of supplies. Lokkhar has his sources but I would like you to explore any former imperial sources and see if they will deal with us." He takes a datapad and comm unit off the counter. "I have placed the information of our needs on the pad and authorization codes for our accounts. We have a few speederbikes working and you may take one. If you would like a security guard I can send one with you. I know you were just a shuttle pilot, but you have most chance of friends in high places of anyone on the crew." His eyes flick down and up,"You know that you can switch uniforms. The only thing we are not short on is uniforms."

"If you'd like a negotiator, it's best I stay in uniform. Let me take a look at this and I'll get back to you on that security guard offer."
Jessa takes a look at the datapad.

"That is probably a good play. The only problem is some of the locals who are enjoying the new freedom from the Empire don't realize your good intentions." He smiles then his face hardens,"If any of our crew does not understand your role. If any treat you less than your rank and positions demands I want to be informed immediately."
Looking at the Datapad she sees a list of items and a bank account with 20,000 imperial credits.
Astrogation Charts- The ships charts are over a year old and almost useless. The Empire knocked out the standard navigation beacon that feeds current astrogation information to ships. Without current charts the ship is going with the best simulated guess of the near planet jumps and no information on the rest of the sector.
Laser Battery Fuel Cells- Will not be able to fire more than 1/2 of the ship turrets with current level of fuel cells.
Edible seeds for hydroponics.
Edible marine life to stock the water tanks.
Cargo for trade. The Captain believes we should obtain items for future trade with planets in the Kathol Sector.
When Jessa is ready to move out she can begin to post of the Act 1: Jessa Friends in High Places thread.

"It probably is dangerous out there. I'll see to that uniform and the security guard."
Jessa changes into the New Republic Uniform, takes the soldier, and rides off on the speeder bike. She considers in her mind who the best imperial to contact first would be.
Making a Kathol Outback check. I don't see the Jessa Friends in High Places thread.

OOC- I just opened the thread.
IC- The Captain comms the Upper Weapons Bay.
"Corporal Krudar here sir," comes over the comm.
"Corporal please have Crewman Lodor Kintor report to Lt Dajus for security duty." Ciro flip off the comm. "Good luck Lieutenant."

Bridge Operations- 48 to 40 hours to lift off
Lt Thyte (Alpha shift Bridge Operations Officer/XO) and Lt Slyer (Omega shift Bridge Operations Officer/XO)is overseeing a wide range of projects needed to be completed before the ship is "seaworthy". Thyte and Slyer spend most of their time determining who will be Alpha and Omega squad until the second set of astrogation data arrives.
Helm- Ensign Colton, Ensign Wa'ira, Ensign Laith, Ensign Barinn, LtJG Haynor, The Helm officers are running computer simulations to prepare them for the unique flight signature of the FarStar. The Flight Deck and advanced armor make is a slow cumbersome vessel. They spend 8 hours taking shifts as main helmsman and secondary helmsman. They fight over board layouts and rework systems.
Astrogation- Ensign Ban, with assistance by Lt Thyte and Lt Slyer. The Astrogators are running through all of the Imperial Data in the ships memory banks trying to find if it is authentic and current. If Logistics is able to procure additional Astrogation of the Kathol Sector it will give data for comparision. At 42 hours before liftoff an encoded transmission from House Karadol (a noble house of Kathol) comes in. It is a second set of Astrogation data that is 112 days more current than the data in your banks. With time you can create more accurate simulation of the astrogation data by comparing the two. (Mechanics: Astrogation vs. 3D with a need for 6 total success)
In the first 2 hours with the data Ban and the XOs make great progress plotting out datapoints for Broslam, Torize, and the microjump that will test the engines from one Lagrange point to another in system. (2 success of the 6 needed)
Weapons Operations- Ensign Allisdar, LtJG Genfoone, Running shield and weapon drills.
Sensor Operations- LtJG Alyian and Ensign Rorn, are waiting for the power to be restored to sensors. Until that time they have generally been cleaning the bridge and the Sensor Systems Operations bay.
Damage Control-Ensign Kinmel, Ensign Hayden, Creating protocols for team response, inspecting or creating damage control lockers throughout the vessel. At 41 hours to liftoff damage control faces it's first test in Engineering. Both Ensigns and Medical respond to a catalyst leak in the ion engines. The engine and personnel are stabilized.
Communications- Ensign Lilith, LtJG Dayson, Must program in New Republic Communications codes and make sure probe droids are retrofitted with hyperspace transmitters. The droids will be placed throughout the Kathol Sector to become a communication relay for the New Republic.
Lilith moves to the probe droid bay and Dayson works the problem from the bridge to reprogram the communications codes of the probe droids. The power has yest to be restored to the advanced communication array. (Mechanics: Computers vs. 2D with a need for 20 total success. It is not hard work but it will take some time to prepare all of the probe droids.)
In 8 hours they gain 2 success of the 20 needed. The XOs do notice that crewmen come onto the bridge to introduce themselves to LtJG "The Face" Dayson. He seems to be talking to fans as much as working with Lilith.

"I wonder how much longer that's going to continue?" Phillip wondered out loud to Lieutenant Thyte and Ensign Ban, motioning with his head towards the former face of the Rebel propaganda machine.
The constant distractions on the bridge concerned the former noble but he kept them quiet for the time being. He felt they'd stop soon enough as the crew started to become familiar with each other and trying to quell them now would paint a target on his back with the rest of the crew and that wasn't the kind of officer Phillip wanted to be.
Looking back to the astrogation charts the Omega Shift Officer starts punching in some numbers on the console to try and see if they can calculate the correct stellar drift on the particular coordinates they were currently working on.

Thyte smiles and looks up from his counsel,"Not any longer." Phillip does notice Thyte flicks off a feed of the pilot's simulations.
Unlike Phillip, Thyte revels in being just that kind of officer. As Alpha and Omega XOs (Executive Bridge Officer, first officer, number one, Riker) Phillip can already see who is going to be the good trooper and the bad trooper.
"Dayson!"
"Yes, L-T."
"Lock it up when speaking to you Dayson."
Dayson puts down his stylus and hands the image back to the crew woman from support. She almost flees the area as Dayson slowly stands at something like attention.
"Why Dayson is Ensign Lilith crawling through probe droids as you are flirting with with someone who was still a zygote when you were making holovids."
"Sir, We are still waiting for engineering to provide power to communications."
"Then maybe you should take shifts in the Probe Droid Bay. Your shift starts now."
Dayson raises his thick muscular arms before him naturally rippling with muscles. "Sir, with my frame and arms I don't fit into the maintenance access in the probe droids."
"Then cut one of them off if you need to," Thyte raises a cybernetic arm."I can find you a replacement."
"Yes, Sir," Dayson turns briskly and heads for the Probe Droid Bay his head shaking.
Thyte returns to astrogation with Phillips and Ensign Ban,"Chew them up, spit them out. Best part of the job."
The next 2 hours are spent looking over the 2 sets of data. You find an error in calculations and must take all of the calculations except for the test jump off the board as be not verified. You really need current data not 20 days ago or 140 days ago.
Thyte suggest that a 4 hour bunk shift for Ensign Ban and yourself so you can come back with a fresh perspective and hopefully by that time Lok'khar or Gorak will come up with promised Astrogation charts. You have the data from the Muvon, but it is a year old and useless.
Thyte tells the rest of the bridge crew to take a 4 hour stretch then come back ready. Most don't even head to their rooms they just go to the emergency bunks next to the bridge and pass out.
Over the comm you hear the voice of Dayson,"Okay Ensign Lilith I have squeezed in and reprogrammed the droid. Give the code a try... Lilith... Lilith?" You hear a banging on the comm and some deep grunts."Lilith, I think I'm stuck Lilith.... Lilith?"
Mechanics: Hours 40 to 38, 1 failure but time reduced by 2 hours. You will begin to take strain if you do not take a 4 hour rest.
Thyte has suggested Alpha shift would be Astrogation and XO Lt Thyte, Shields LtJG Geenfoone, Sensors Ensign Rorn, Helm Ensign Colton,LtJg Haynor , Damage Control Ensign Kinmel, Weapons TBD by Krudar,Communications Ensign Lilith For Omega group XO Slyer, Astrogation Ensign Ban, Shields Ensign Allisdar , Sensors LtJG Alyian, Helm Ensign Wa'ira, Ensign Laith, and Ensign Barinn, Damage Control Ensign Hayden , Weapons TBD by Krudar, Communications LtJG Dayson. He would need your approval for the shifts to be official. If you agree to Dayson you will probably have the ability to negotiate someone else you want.

"I'll take Dayson off your hands if we swap Ensign Kinmel and Ensign Hydan. Sound fair?" Lieutenant Slyer replies to Lieutenant Thyte's shift suggestion.
After the shifts are sorted Phillip takes the Lieutenant's advice and heads to the emergency bunks, falling into one and trying to get as much rest as possible. It was going to be a miracle if this bird got in the air in time.
