The meeting in the Pilot's Read Room is a brief one.
Noell and Ranna stand before the holograph laying the video from Domaz.
"The Revenger Class Assault Carrier is 400m. Has double the number of turbolasers of the FarStar and can carry 48 tie fighters of various configurations." Ciro begins.
"From analysis of the video we know at least twelve are tie bombers which are bantha fodder in a dogfight." Ranna adds.
"Mission Objectives are to secure a safe pathway for the Aegis and the Muvon to Koatill."
"Gather information on enemy forces."
"Locate the Assault Carrier but do not engage."
"Stop any additional bombing runs."
"Coordinate with any friendly forces."
"And kick as much arse as we can." Ranna ends with a smirk.
"Any Questions?" Noell puts the floor open to the pilots.

With the backing of the FarStar astrogation team the jump is an efficient 18 hours instead of the standard 23. After 18 hours of the silence of hyperspace travel the sights and sounds assault the pilots. The comm frequencies are filled with distress signals, requests for emergency medical assistance. The comm bands are frantic and disorganized. At 5G acceleration you are 15 minutes from Kotatill (900km away).
Red alert lights up the sensor HUD. Unidentified small craft are detected 2 clicks port and 2 clicks starboard. None are sending a transponder code so they either government or up to no good. They have a current velocity of 15G and trajectory projections have them closing on your position.
"We have a welcome wagon on the way. Get your astromechs on trying to identify these bogeys." Ranna is terse compared to her normal bravado. Like the rest of you she knows 48 fighters and a Escort Carrier are somewhere in system. Odds far beyond any you could hope to survive without the ability to hit and run.

The Astomech whistles and the blue blips turn into red diamonds indicating enemy presence. They are each a squad of 4 tie fighters. They seem to be standard configuration. They are going about 10g faster than you currently and have a comparable ability to accelerate, so running will be hard. You also do not know how close any of their friends are. Ciro's and Ranna's X-Wings have short ranged jammers. They need to be within 3 clicks for them to function. www.dailydoserpg.com/mission_one_x-wing.htm has the stats for comparison. OOC: Yes please name your R2 unit TB O N2B or whatever you want to name him.

Ciro breaks into comms,"Will begin jamming at end of transmission. Alpha take the port wing, Omega take the starboard. Don't allow a transmission and none get away."
Alpha banks away from the Omega squad to pursue their prey. Omega turns toward their target. At current trajectory will be in firing range in 10 seconds.
OOC: Other than being a stock astromech you may make your astromech your own. As you progress with your mech you could invest in upgrades and such. If he is part of your mission he or she will receive experience for that mission.

Keeg comments to his droid: Power up the cannons Hummer, and target the same TIE as Ranna
Keeg breaks his X-wing and forms up to Wingrippers side. And it dawns on him that he really hasn't done much flying as a wingman or on a 2 ship element. Tactics are completely different. The lead usually focuses on their target, while the wingman keeps their tail clear and provides cover. But then again, Wingripper is about as subtle as a herd of nerfs rampaging through a Christophis crystal farm. As he isn't lead, he likly wont get the first shot, but he should get a good opportunity to follow up on the target that his led chooses. A typical duros tight smile forms on his face as he thinks he might even get to steal a kill.
Cool check 1Y1G = 1 Triumph (Wha!?!?!) going before enemy but after a few other PCs
OOC: Astrodroid is an R2 designated R2-4UM, Blue top and Purple trim on the body. Tends to be an Pessimist, like puns, gloomy, and likes to hum. Keeg will tend to alternate calling him "Hummer" when he is in a good mood, or "Worry" when he is in a bad one.

Ciro turns on his comm to Alpha Squad's channel, "Gabby, you fly wing for Dwyer. Lopak, you're my wing. Dwyer and me angle our shields forward to protect on attack run, Wings, you make sure your shields are angle aft as we clear the first run. Remember that thought these TIE's are not well shielded, they are agile, so let's hit them hard on the first run. Hopefully these pilots have gotten a bit sloppy out here for so long. Now let's punch it and show Omega squadron what we are really made of. And team, remember we don't have backup, so don't get cocky out there"
"Yes, sir," Dwyer calls back, "Let's go dust some eyeballs. Gabby, stay with me, and you take the anything on my starboard" Ciro's Cool Check: 1A3P = 6 Success 1 Advantage

You all have Initiative over the pitiful Imperial Pilots. We will run the turns were they will move first. I will post the map after their move. Then you will move (having higher initiative means you get see how they move before you move). Then you will fire or perform any actions first and they will act last. X-Wing maneuver chart Green=1D, White=2D, Yellow=3D, Red=4D 1 through 5 are acceleration in Gs (number of little squares) punch it (success = extra 1G acceleration), evade (success= 1D harder to hit), stay on target (success= 1 upgrade attack) all make the maneuver you choose 1D higher. Every 6 little squares is one range band for you lasers cannons. They are linked for every advantage is an extra hit up to a total of 4 hits. They are accurate so make sure to add a boost to your die pool. Keeg I can adjust Omega Squad based on your input before you fire but that is approximately where you will be at the end of the round.

Dwyer and Gabby bank to starboard as Ciro and Lopak bank Port creating an little maneuvering distance.
The acceleration you are going (5G) leaves little room for playing it fancy so you count on speed, shields, and the lack of the Imperial training academy to make good pilots.
Dwyer splats the lead squint leaving a cloud of debris.(destroyed)
Gabby scores on the leads starboard wingman his tie is smoking and leaking fluids into space. (very damaged)
Carne Lopak matches Gabby's strike but on the Port wingman. (very damaged)
Noell Ciro ?
The Omega squad has a little more range from the targets. They also approach at full throttle (5G) leaving little room for any fancy flying.
Ranna fires first shooting beyond the 3 in the front of the formation and hitting with all 4 cannons on the tie in the command position. His ship disintegrates. Ranna is Jamming their transmissions. (24 total hull damage!! She gone!)
Dasha curses as her cannon hits home on the port wingman but he does not go down. (Very Damaged)
Pash fires on the lead tie missing but causing the squint to slide right into Keeg's crosshairs. (Boost on your shot if you take the lead tie fighter)
Keeg ?
After you fire they will fire. Then they will maneuver and it be your turn to move and fire again.

Closing fast not much time, focused on the target... and it disappears in an explosion... Keeg briefly panics losing the focus, but then Pash's target heads toward his crosshairs and Keeg reacts more then thinks (2Y2G1Bvs2P = Two uncancelled successes because of TWO TRIUMPHS!!!!) Blowing the target to vapor.
Hummer whistles in approval and Keeg meekly replys with a smirk "bullseye, now, lets try for two"
