FFG has a simple rule of 5XP per session (or in our case act) achieved. Each characters was involved in one act and achieved the goals so 5XP per character.
Just send a message when you want to spend your XP and I will adjust your character.

Is that a good idea? Just 5? IMO it seems kind of pointless if, lets say the game had 10 acts, that'd be like 50 xp, barely enough to do much of anything to our chars. On the other hand, I don't think this is a game where you even need to really level, especially since we have so many characters, and having a player character get killed would upset the balance of xp between many characters.
idk, I just wonder how you came up with the number of 5 xp. FFG says 10-20 btw.

It is 10-20 for a full session, episode, adventure. The first part was just a one mission warm-up so that is why the lower xp. At the end of the second episode (Omens) the XP should be easily in the 10 to 30 range depending on how many parts the character is involved with.
The other way to get experience is to achieve goals based on you motivations. So if Loh'Khar gains influence over another crew person he gain 5xp. If Pash romances someone he gains 5xp. If Gammer gets his Sabaac game going, or PD13 talks his way out of working they can gain bonus XP.
If you start a side story on the location page you will also receive additional xp for your character. The location board is for any posting of thoughts feelings plans schemes that can fully directed by you. If you want to plan a mutiny, build a microbrewery in the upper hold, or challenge someone to a sparing match in the rec room this is the area to post in.
What we don't want is Superman and the Legion of Super-friends by the end of the first season.
