Alexandria Trevelyan
Dread Rider
"Your Dread Rider is nothing short of a miracle, did you know that?
With the escalation of the Krieg-Avalon war, war orphans were becoming a trend in poorer neighborhoods... quite the fashionable accessory, urchins. Truly. They served as grim reminders of those who lost their lives on both sides. Casualties on both sides necessitated child soldiers to defend the lands, though they saw more use with crossbows and working in hospitals than they saw with swords. The Trevelyan's last hope lied in Morgan and Renault. Alexandria made three, having stolen the horse and papers of a conscript to become him. She brought quite a few victories as a mounted halberdier. By the time she was discovered by her parents, she had already proven herself a fearsome warrior.
When Fort Hilde was captured and Alexandria was to be sent home, the Krieg counteroffensive surrounded the Avalonian army stationed there. With no retreat, a rout was impossible, meaning that there was no escape but through. Pressed, the Avalonian became hellions on the defensive, demoralizing the Krieg attackers with their unbreakable troops. They fought for several days, with Renault picked off while healing a man beyond the gates. An elite formation of Gryphon riders finally punched through Avalonian defenses and Morgan retaliated by immolating the area, bringing an avalanche and the weight of a cliff face down upon them. Your Dread Rider and the Wyvern she met and nursed back to health were the sole survivors.
She is the Trevelyan's epitaph, clad in the tattered remains of her mother's armor and wielding a greataxe pulled from that battlefield, a tall and dark figure perched upon an unruly brute of a wyvern. There was a time where I'd have laughed at the thought of Alexandria being such a savage, but those ages are long since gone."
Caim Dulmaire
Sorcerous Scion
The Dulmaire line has long intermingled with demons in bids for power in the past, especially with their extensive use in campaigns against Qliphoth. While the house was long held in suspicion for their lineage, the fact that they are so effective at hunting horrors has made them invaluable and beyond reproach in civilized circles. Caim is no exception, being the middle child of five and the only Trueborn outside of the first, with the others being generated with magical life. With his eldest sister being a woman, he inherited the name of Shaxx and is to date, the eighth to have the name and the first to not be an eldest. While he was given a chance to lead a life of privilege he instead chose to serve the crown as an advisor for King Tristan with his old friends Zahafiel and Erasmus serving as his valet and bodyguard respectively.
With Tristan's eventual abdication of the throne to seek out his missing wife, the eldest, Elric was given the throne. Caim was relieved of his duties as an advisor and instead given the role of Princess Callisandra's retainer in order to safeguard her while she experienced a life outside of the castle walls so as not to have a repeat of Petra. Caim reluctantly took the position, with Zahafiel being made her valet. Erasmus left with Tristan, leaving Caim to practice combat to better serve his mistress. Despite his resignation of the role of a protector, he has made himself startlingly capable as one, and will follow Callisandra to the ends of the continent if asked.
Cherche Quinlan
Knight Aspirant
The second child of Tristan's second child, Cherche is the daughter of Lexana Quinlan with no claim to the throne due to Lexana already having agreed with Elric that she wanted no claim on the throne should he perish or step down. Assuming Cherche is not a bastard or adopted, she is of golden and void dragon ancestry with some celestial from her maternal grandfather, father and paternal grandmother respectively. She exhibits no such traits and has had to deal with nobles branding her a pariah. Lexana has taken no measures to silence these claims as to not seem as though she were abusing her power. As a result, Cherche has grown up in isolation in a lonely tower in Prosperity, coming out only rarely to gaze upon the stars and practice fighting with Caim.
Cherche has shown to have a very strong desire to help those around her, and is surprisingly responsible despite never having worked a day in her life when she was in Prosperity. This stems from a desire to gain approval as she has ended up listless and depressed in her self-imposed exile and as a result deals with crippling anxiety with being alone, to the point where she's been known to cry when nobody's around despite keeping up a chipper appearance in front of everyone else. She's also prone to making use of her sheltered upbringing to use the preconceptions of ignorance, innocence and weakness against people, reportedly breaking Caim's sword in a duel when he let his guard down because he believed he'd bested her.
