Things are far from stable on my end, but much closer to what they should be than what they have been in the last year or so. While I've mostly been swamped with work, declining health and a handful of injuries, I've had some time to work out a few things.
With that out of the way, I'm working on a substantial overhaul to the universe proper since I never was quite happy with an overall incomplete feel for it, mostly because a lot of the setting was pulled from one of those busted spirals that I jotted things down in during junior high.
So I've actually gotten around to more or less completing it. Now it's a matter of transcription and such. The rebuild will be exactly that. A rebuild. I'm posting this interest check in hopes that this will get out to you all while I systematically dump the local (forum) copies of the lore I was displeased with and eventually replace it with the new content. I'll be posting periodically over the course of the next week since I'm transcribing everything from an MD and there are formatting constraints I'll have to work around.
Three of you have already asked me about the rebuild, (go figure, the three who know how to contact me off the forums!) so I'll outright be answering it all here because there was substantial overlap.
Q: What does the rebuild entail for the players?
A: Not much from any of you. Main stipulation is the characters. I'd say it was a retcon if that weren't blatant lies. It's not quite an alternate reality either. I've officially set myself up with more lore than I can ever hope to get through in a single sitting. Or ever. I doubt I'd use half of this crap.
Back to the main point that means that any existing characters that are ported from Vehemence or Fifth Age (working title for the rebuild) will be restarted from scratch save for a special bonus I'll detail in character creation next week.
Q: So all the stuff we did before counts for nothing?
A: I wouldn't go that far.
Q: Does the rewrite mean that mean the Kingmaker aspect's being sacked?
A: Hell no. Destiny's still destiny and that means that the old crew, some new faces and some old enemies will be making reappearances. Some changes will be drastic, others less so. Teyrnsgarde is still a thing.
Q: So when do we start getting ready?
A: I'll be posting short written works to set up a backdrop. Each of them is meant to detail the state of the world in manners relevant to who they were written for. The one you need to keep an eye out for is Slaughtered Pantheon, which heralds the return of an all too familiar face.
