For those we play Vandal's game.
We do have some roles you could step into in the Scale of War campaign.
Alexandria- Deva paladin who has lost faith in her religious order but not her god.
Khalad- Dwarven Griffon Rider who has just seen his entire life crushed by an orc army.
or we could find a new character in the Monestary of pretty much any type.
We use 5e rules and the character would be up to 4th level. Let me know if you are interested.

I might be interested in this, I'll have to read up on 5e though. Does finding a new character mean rolling a new one, because I think I might have a tough time playing someone else's... PS: I have the 5e player's handbook, I'll look into it

Finding a new character would mean making your own character. You can download the basic 5e game rules for free at the WotC site. The system is an easy and smooth version of the game. You would then be found in the dwarven monastery the party is heading for (you could be any race and class and would be 4th level). The adventure takes place in a Vale that has been a place of peace and prosperity that is seeing a pattern of events beginning to form that may point to end of said peace and prosperity.

Like I said, I own the player's handbook so that's a non-issue. Any rules such as starting gold, ability rolls, background length etc?

I was stated about the basic just in case SS doesn't have the guide. For starting gold multiple the 1st level gold you roll by 4. That will give a good starting point. Ability roll can be standard point buy, or roll (3d6) 8 times and assign the top 6 to ability scores of your choice. You may use any of the backgrounds from the players handbook. For background locations you can read over www.dailydoserpg.com/scales/places.htm. Most people live, die, and never leave the Elsir Vale. The vale is a loose confederation of city states that at one time where all a part of the Kingdom of Rhestilor. Hammerfast- Dwarven Mines in the Wyvernspur Mountains. Tiri Kitor- Wild and High elves live isolated life away from the rest of the Vale. Brindol- Human and Halfling town known for its merchants and trade. Recently attacked by the Goblins of the Red Hand of Doom. Witchwood- Few live in the lands of the Lich-Witch until she was recently banished by the Heroes of Brindol. Dennovar- One of the major cities of the vale it is a fishing and merchant with the highest population of elves who live with other races and not apart. Rhest-Humans are working to retake Rhest from the lizardmen tribes who control the former center of the Kingdom of Rhestilor. Overlook- With over 12,000 residence the dwarven city of Overlook is the largest city in the Vale.

One more (last?) question for me: feats. I know they're optional in 5e but are they available in your campaign Art?

You can feat or not feat. There are advantages to either one but I think most of our party members use feats.
