We will be wrapping up rescue at Rivenroar and moving to the next Episode. I will be posting on the message boards to try to find 2 or 3 players to begin the next episode. They would be making 4th level adventurers who will be independent adventurers who have answered the call from Overlook for heroes. If you know anyone or a message board to post on it would be appreciated.

I hope we can stress being able to respond daily in general. No other play by post has worked that I've tried so far. Waiting a week for a response just takes the fun out of it
Malik. Knight of Vengeance. His parents slain by goblins and his mission to hunt down their killers and lay them to rest.
Oloric. Dragon Ancestry. His obsession for gold has led him to the wrong place at the wrong time.
When I did a play by post group back in 2001 it was little harder to expect everyday posts. With the access we have today with phones, tablets, computers, and the wireless network everywhere it is a reasonable expectation.

I've gotten my copy of 5e. I'll need to put together a sheet, but I'm down if you're still looking. Vandal and Vic are sort of out of focus and group one needs to get in the damn liquid evil already.

Can always add another character. Your character would be fourth level. The adventurers from across the Elsir Vale are meeting in the dwarven city of Overlook on promise of great treasure if they stop the orc horde from making over the mountains. The only problem is the orcs already look to have found a way over. You could wander into the current battle or meet up with the group at Overlook.

My cell keeps crashing whenever I try to post this in a PM. So I'll just leave this here.
Alexandria Trevelyan was nothing short of a minor miracle. Born to a lesser noble house after years of failure to produce an heir to replace an older brother who died in battle against orc warbands, her mother died in childbirth, and Alexandria spent her youth blighted with weakness and sickness. For her first year, she fought for her life, nearly dying a few times in her nursery due in no small part to her weak health, manifesting a sun sigil branded into her forehead with no explanation whatsoever. Renault Trevelyan, her father didn't speak of her elder brother or her mother, leaving little Alex clueless. She exhibited strange behaviour in her early childhood, asking to go to specific locations that she had no knowledge of, but were favorite places of her older brother Glenn, and asked for meals she knew nothing about, that were favorites of her mother, Morgan.
When Alexandria was five, Renault was visited by an older man. His name was Percival Thornton, he was a Tormite Inquisitor who had come at the behest of a friend of Renault's after numerous complaints of Alex's strange behaviour. Unsure of the truth of the charges Renault was accused of--consorting with fiends, using forbidden magics and other, similarly outrageous charges-- he sat with Alex and Renault and had a long, pleasant conversation with them over a moderate meal and some tea. He saw a lonely little girl, who somehow communed with the spirits of her dead brother and mother in her dreams who felt like an outsider looking in who had an insatiable thirst for life. Thornton left with no incident.
The next visitor was a fire, some months later, accompanied by several zealots. Renault was murdered by the assailants and Alexandria remained hidden in the estate. She was beaten senseless and dragged out to an impromptu pyre. She was nearly thrown in until Percival struck the men down, rescuing her and taking her home to raise her. The Inquisitor was more curious by the origin of her brand, but realized that it was less a brand and more a conduit for her abilities. Alex was able to make the brand glow like a torch in order to help her sleep. He suspected distant Solar ancestry, and when asked, she spoke of angels who visited her in her dreams, clad in alabaster sheathe and taking her around the world on wings of fire.
She grew close to her adopted parent, and while she wasn't very pleased about having scriptures shoved down her throat, she seemed to enjoy reading about the tales of brave Paladins who fought against the black tide and saved the lives of thousands. The romantic notions of the tales she read and listened to turned into the Inquisitor sponsoring her for an independent cleric to enact the rites to teach her to be a Paladin herself. She spent years honing her craft, eventually given Morgan's shield which was salvaged from the fire, along with Glenn's sword and Renault's armor when she was big enough to fit into it. Thornton eventually etched her brand into her armor and shield to make it her own, along with an apt description of his daughter: Soul of adamantine, armor of mithral, hair, eyes and heart of gold.
At eighteen, she used her inheritance to pay for the reconstruction of her estates. At nineteen, she was orphaned again with Percival's passing at the age of 83, and she no longer bothered to oversee construction, burying him with dignity and fashioning his robes into detailing for her armor. It was a worthy addition to her ensemble, and from there she set out hoping to become a worthy heir to her family. At current, she found a worthy challenge for a worthy heir in the form of an veritable storm of Orcs for her to weather.

Alex is a paladin of the Order of the Light. They serve Lord Magnus (God of Justice) and Bahamut (the Dragon God) while also giving praise to Gaia (The earth Mother). The Order of the Light works to stop the plans of Cults of Grithstane (Lord of the Dead). Her estate is in the dying town of Myler's Stone a mixed human/Dwarf community just north of the current battle. She is an adviser on the Consul at Overlook and traveled with the Farstriders and a contingent of Hobgoblin Mercenaries to find proof that Orcs have gained passage over the StoneHome Mountains.
Alex and all who live in the Shadow of the Stonehome Mountains know that spring brings flowers, planting season, and Orc Hordes from the west throwing themselves at Bordrin's Watch. The Elsir Vale is isolated by mountains, desert, and swamp but these same natural hazards are it's greatest defense. The Orc Hordes outnumber the people of the vale 1,000 to 1. If they find a passage all the people of the vale are doomed.
Hearing reports of scouts evidence of orcs east of the mountains are raiding homes in Sodden, Hope, and now Old Den you have set up a ambush for the raiders. You hid Hobgoblin troops led by a large Chain wielding Hobgoblin named Sinruth in the barns. The Farstrider warlock Jen poisoned a group of ale kegs and Lord Edgar Sommerfield (leader of the Farstriders) added a few barrels of Gnomish Blackpowder to the wagon.
The plan was to allow the raiders (who you believe to be orc) drink themselves to death then blow up and chop up what was left. The plan was going well when you elven rangers (Uulath and Reiner twin boy and girl) blew up the wagon prematurely. Looking outside you see why because some group of heroes are charging your ambush destroying the entire plan. Now you are within the main building with the 2 Elves on the roof that is on fire. Corben (burly veteran fighter) rushing outside to help his friends. A score of Hobgoblin rushing around killing orcs. Orcs killing Hobgoblins. Lord Sommerfield is firing his crossbow through the doorway to assist Corben. Jen has climbed to the roof and has cast Hold Person on a couple of Orc. A paladin is charging past north of your building. A wizard of some type who looks to be a mix of human, elf, and dragon is throwing fire south of your building.
You have known the owners of the "Old Den" (the building you stand in) since you where a child. Bairber Deniathir and his family are good people. You promised them this would be an easy ambush. He walked bravely out and delivered the wagon of ale because he trusts you. As his roof begins to burn and orcs close in on his families holding you can see an unspoken look of betrayal in his eyes.
If this works I will move it to the main thread and your character may start posting.

Everything's cool save for preferring to keep her unaligned in terms of factioning. Less chance of outcasting if things go south and she does what's right rather than what's cricket for them.

The Order of Light is basically a handful of knights leftover since Bahamut retreated from the world. The good dragons pulled away to allow the people of Klarn to choose their own destinies after the defeat of Taimat. So Alex will not have anyone to outcast her. You are dying order in the world. The Order of the Sword (Lord Magnus Paladins who do not follow the ideals of Bahamut) is a strongest current order with the upstart Order of Bahamut (wanting to return to the ideals of the Platinum Dragon) growing in the world. She will be thought of as anything from a novelty to a heretic by the Order of the Sword and it's followers. Most people of the Vale think of the Order of the Light as just a legend. Bahamut believes in protecting the weak but not controlling them. The Order of the Sword has a want to control the weak as well as protect them.
