Lodor please make a melee attack check just to make sure you did not embarrass yourself. Maybe you even did something flashy.
When the exhibition is over the dignitaries line up to congratulate both of you on your display. You note that somehow Alta Dyson found a way to be center stage to take the handshakes and applause. He did make the world best looking squire.
Gunthar and the girls stand in the cultural center door waiting their turn. You note that each carries a stick with a large piece of colored chalk attached to the bottom. Each is dressed in flowing robes of white and gold.

Lodor manages to keep his head attached to his shoulders during the event, and even manages to avoid looking incompetent while up against a clearly superior adversary. He'll take that as a win. Although, he is wondering why he didn't get a fancy outfit... Oh well, at least he doesn't need to wave around weird chalk sticks. Another small victory for Lodor. At this point, he's taking all he can get.
Mechanics: Melee Check 2P1A vs 2D. Net result 1 triumph 2 advantages. Of course the good roll comes during the fake combat...

As the Dignitaries come forward Thane hugs Alta then his lady does the same. The three stand in the middle of the stage smiling to each other as Lodor is shaking the Mayor's hand. Laser flash from the south, north, and the top of the Cultural Center. The Lady of House Ik'Tal's head is split by a bolt. The Mayor's headless body fall into Lodor's arms. House Shador's Prime Minister and brother of the High King falls. A bolt strikes Qesya who pushes a dignitary behind her. Thane is hit in the shoulder and spinning falls next to his fiancee.
In the crowd are screams of alarm then of pain and servant droids begin assaulting crowd members.
Lodor sees Gunther and the ladies rushing from backstage. SLAV is rushing the stage toward Thane his weapons extending from both limbs and shoulders.

Lodor immediately drops the corpse formerly known as the Mayor as he looks in relief at SLAVE heading towards them with weapons..."OH FRANG!"
He scoops up the downed Thane in his arms and starts running to the safest area he can find, yelling "Guys, I think SLAVE's on their team! This is bad! Somebody call for backup!"

Lodor hears roars and feels fire envelope his body. He finds a way to protect Thane from the flamethrowers blast but screams as his skin crackles and burns. 9 damage (minus soak), 8 damage per round for 3 rounds burning.
Qesya smashes her weapon into the IG-88 known as slave and the blow does not phase him.
Gunthar is charging the droid.
Keeg and Slyer rush from the building weapons belts slung over their shoulders and a blaster in their hands. Ranna and Fiona rush back to them.
Alta grabs Thane form the burning Lodor and yells,"Stop drop and roll, stop drop and roll. I did fire prevention PSAs before. Stop drop and roll." He is rushing carrying Thane fireman style to the cultural center doors.
The next round
6 snipers fire again. (It will be 4 next round) Alta is hit in the leg and falls. It is the only thing that saves Thane from losing his head. The two fall in a crumpled heap right before the pilots. Lodor is not sure who else died from the shots. He just knows he is in pain beyond any felt before.
Roll initiative and this round will pass then the Muvon will arrive.

Mechanics: Vigilance Check 3A. Result 2 successes 3 advantages.
Lodor can feel himself frying, but, considering the number of snipers firing on them, anything involving stopping was out of the question. Instead, he yells in a pain-wracked voice "Where did Quesya put her E-Web!?" and will run as fast as he can (i.e. convert action to maneuver and use both to run) to wherever they say it is. As he moves, he stuffs the datacrystal into any unseared pocket he has and hopes his flesh insulated it well enough for it to still function.
