Does this remove the short range restriction for firing it one-handed?
"...So let me get this straight. Belka's been launching an invasion on Vollimar for the last eleven centuries over a contract?" "Yes. We will have it done. Eventually." - A discussion between an advisor to the Empress of the 'mercenary' country of Belka and said Empress
I found it. Page 162 of the CRB (EotE) under BLASTER RIFLE / CARBINE: "Stormtroopers in service of the Empire carry E-11 blaster rifles with folding stocks. At short range, the rifle can be fired one-handed-just as if it were a heavy pistol. The stock is extended when firing at more distant targets so that the trooper can better stabilize his aim."
Interesting and good to know, but adding the pistol grip seems like a better deal, as this seems to limit you to short range, whereas the H9 grip allows you to fire from medium.
So consider it like having an H9 grip. You can fire without the stock at short or medium, but need to extend the stock for longer ranges. With the stock out it is a ranged heavy, with it retracted it is ranged light. You can fire at short to medium with the stock extended.
