The team will enter just 50m from the first bomb on the road from the north. The government center is still burning and 3 skyscrapers have fallen leaving rubble everywhere. It is good you left the larger vehicles and are on speeders. Most of the center of the the city is not passable to speeders or the SRV. You do not see anyone between you and the bomb and no one in the partially damaged 30 story building west of you or the large fountain east of you. The fountain is not working the space angel statues circling the middle are reaching arms out with pitchers that are pouring nothing into the water filled with debris and dirt.
You do now that in the middle of 30 to 50 story buildings you have no way of knowing who is watching you until it is too late.

Based on his reactions and equipment, Sivu is concerned that Boom may have thought that "disarming" the bombs meant "activating" the bombs, and thus tries to talk him out of it.
"Boom, I understand that you very much enjoy the experience of a large detonation. However, in this case, our goal is to shut off the bombs, not start them, since activating the detonator would kill us and the surrounding populace. However, I have a proposal for you. Since you are the demolitions officer for the ship, I believe it would be your right to take the explosives from these bombs and use them to make your own home-brewed explosives, allowing the 'Booms' you design to be even larger than ever. Is this an acceptable circumstance?"
OOC: Not sure if Boom would actually disagree with this idea, but if so I set up a little check to talk him into it.
Mechanics: Negotiation vs Cool 1A vs 1D. Net result 1 success.

Boom is a little saddened by Sivu words, 'Buhthah, one soh wanted ah laaargah rousing explosiohn," Boom tells him. He is also disappointed that Sive cannot fully understand him as Sivu hears Boom say in a dejected voice, "No Boom"
Sivu reminds Boom again about the rest of his proposal of scavenging the bombs and Boom is cheered up. "Boom make best Boom" (translation: "One will make ah bomb for the history boohks. Goodness me!" He feels like youngling at Guudrian Agwash Festival (A Guudrian holiday in which families come together and exchange fireworks and try to impress the neighbors with their wanton destruction old furniture using the fireworks")

The team encircles the first bomb as Boom and Sivu park their speederbikes and move up to the bomb.
1D2C to disarm. Failure can mean it goes boom. After disarm can remove explosive with just a 1C difficulty roll.
As you are disarming you hear a group of swoopbikes running full out to the south east they circle the fountain at high speed and pass north of you moving to the west now. They are obviously racing and in their focus on the race they don't seem to notice your group.
At a distance to the west you hear the swoops moving then the terrified screams a a half dozen people.

OOC Maybe Sivu does the disarm with Boom aiding and Boom does the explosive removal with Sivu aiding. Boom has a skill of 4, and Sivu has an intellect of 4 so you have 4P (You are about as good at it gets at this) for your roll plus any talents you add in.

Sivu notes the swoops, for they will have to be avoided until the job is done. After that...perhaps the team can assist in enforcing the order of the planet. All of that is irrelevant until this bomb is defused, however.
Sivu and Boom work together and effortlessly disarm the explosive. As they work, Sivu is thoroughly impressed by Boom's expertise and ability to communicate important details of the bomb without even being able to speak Galactic Basic. Clearly, Sivu has much he could learn from Boom, and Sivu looks forward to future chances to work with him.
OOC: Since Sivu does the disarm check and Boom does the removal check, I guess I'll do all of the disarm rolls and stewalker can do all of the removal rolls.
Mechanics: 4P vs 2C1D. Net result 1 triumph 2 successes 1 advantage. Boom can use the 1 advantage to boost the removal roll. I'm not sure what to do with the triumph, so feel free to do what you want with it.

Working alongside of Sivu proves to be more rewarding then Boom expected, given that he wasn't going to get to blow up the bomb. Even though he couldn't see the expressions on the blue human's face, he felt a bit of a bond over their shared engineering aptitude. Too bad Sivu doesn't appear to get any joy from things blowing up.
Boom start to pull apart the core components of the defused bomb. He is extremely happy as thinks of the destruction he can cause with these components. Besides some standard detonite, basic wires and switches, he manages to remove a perfectly preserved catalytic fuse of cortosis that can be used to double the yield of any bomb it used to set of.
Mechanics: Mechanics - 2P1B v 1C = Net 3 Success 1 Triumph (used to find fuse. Make 1 Bomb 2x Damage for Normal Size, or normal yield for half size)

As you work the swoop bikes come around for another pass. You again hear the screams of fear as the move past your position.
The second bomb is at the south west corner of the map.

The swoops again. Undesirable. "Commander, while you have the final word on the state of this operation, I would suggest that we continue on our task to disarm the bombs regardless of the potential swoop threat. However, I would also recommend that we stay on high alert for any potential hazards that they could have prepared in the area. We do not know how hostile the group is or how capable they are, so we must assume the worst."

What path will you take? South then west(moving through rubble of highest building to fall down or if you go to the edge of the map that is where the swoops are racing), west then south(either through heavily cratered roads or the edge is again the swoop path), diagonal (which is passing closer to the burning and smoke of the center).

Sivu suggests that the team take the green path. It minimizes the potential time in the swoop lanes while also avoiding most other major hazards. They will just have to gun their swoop bike engines on the swoop track.

You begin down the green path moving over crater and past the rubble and twisted steel of what was once skyscrapers. During many parts of the trip the smoke is so dense you are glad for your breath masks. The speeder race continues to zoom by the outskirts and you notice the screams of terror are getting closer. The smoke from the still burning government center makes it difficult to see the path ahead. You come to where the green and red paths meet and see people staked every 20m along the road. The swoop race zooms by and the racers weave in and out of the screaming citizens tied to the posts. Looking further you see a few posts have been snapped as well as the person who was tied to them.

Boom cannot believe the mess he sees in front of him. This destruction is so wasteful. Everything is blown up so randomly, with no aesthetic flair. These people are such savages. He considers all of the missed opportunities to blow up these building without blocking the streets with all of the rubble. Maybe later he will be able to show how a true explosive artist can bring down a building
