My dad was flying a Piper Pacer when I was 5. with my uncle (mothers side) and his friend also on board. It was winter and the fuel line froze and were forced to make an emergency landing in a field. Landed, and before coming to a stop we hit a snowbank and it flipped the plane, making it stop. We all walked away. I still remember looking back and seeing the tail fin scrunched like an accordion.
btw, I also got Playtest credit for some games. Wizkids "Crimson Skies" and "Pirates" also was one of the first people to demonstrate some of their games to the public at Gencon and Origins.

Real Name: Stevie (to avoid confusion with the Narrator) Age: 18 (I hope I'm not the baby of the group!) Location: Evanston, IL Gamer Experience: I may be 18, but I'm pretty sure I've been gaming for 19 years. My Dad basically started me in the womb, and after birth he was already having me roll dice while playing with my toys. After I learned how to actually speak, I learned how to game properly, and ever since I've played a couple WEG games, a few of the D20 and Saga Star Wars, Traveller, Cortex (regular and plus), D&D 3E, 4E, and the Next Playtest (plus 2E if you count my hours playing Baldur's Gate, but since the computer does the calculations it's not the same). Star wars experience: I grew up watching the Star Wars films, but the books were what really brought me into the fold. A couple of years ago I finally gave up on them, but I've at least tried to keep up on what's happened ever since. I'm really hoping that, in spite of ruling the entire EU non-canon, they at least keep Mara Jade and the Skywalker and Solo kids. Also, I was addicted to KOTOR, it was one of the games that got me into video games. Other hobbies: The aforementioned video games and reading, fencing, Tae Kwon Do, and terrible, horrible puns. Occupation: Student and Undergraduate Research Assistant at a lab. Other: At GenCon I won the D&D Open High School Division when I was 13. Granted, this was the only year they ever had a high school division, and there were only 3 teams eligible to compete, but I did beat a bunch of deeply ashamed 17 and 18 year olds.

Do you still go up in smaller planes? My wife was in a small sailboat that capsized when she was 5 or 6 and is still scared of sailboats to this day. I played the Crimson Skies video game and was a big fan. Would like to try the table top version. I miss GenCon! I haven't been able to go the past few years.

The table top Crimson skies wasn't so bad (Better then the X-wings miniatures game IMHO) even tho it was essentially hex based, but it died because of really bad power creep in just a few expansions
later on my Dad got a Cessna 175 but when he lost his job being the electrical engineer for a company that built top of the line Mass Spectrometers, he had to give it up. We used to do fly-in sunday breakfasts in the early 80s. And the Annual Rock Island fish fry (It is located at the tip of the wisconsin panhandle). never had the finances or time to become a pilot myself. it is one of my dreams to take my dad up in a plane of my own.
Right now I have a Laser that I sail on Lake Onalaska, or some other nearby body of water tow it to. Kind of hard to sail it and NOT dump it.

The boat I spend most of the summer on is this one www.windycitycruise.com/I wish I was sailing but cruises are where the money is. We have a nice sailboat but have not had time to get it in the water in years. My nephew is in college to be a pilot, has his license, and now is zooming all over. He loves it.

I know Bob and he forgot to mention he has an amazing ability to paint miniatures, a collection of obscure game books, and has raised 4 excellent gamers. He is also the current winner of the oldest player bet (sorry Bob).

I remember the coach/ cub scout years. Now I have the pick my son up from college years and miss the coach/ cub scout years. Okay, I don't miss the coaching pre-school soccer when the entire team would just stop and watch a plane fly over or just walk off the field for juice boxes in the middle of the game. My second son loved to pick grass during the soccer game. Mostly, I would go back ten years in a moment.
