“Del, I swear, you’ve got to be one of the clumsiest elves I’ve ever seen.” A sassy Callisandra shook her head. After Caim was able to cross and provide a secure means of crossing the bridge, she nodded, “Alright, I’ll go. Try to be more careful, Del?” ((Taking a 10 on crossing the bridge.) )
As the cheeky princess crossed, she scanned the area around them to be sure that nothing was going to surprise them… or notice them. ((Perception: 10 + 6 - 2 = 14)) Her vision wasn’t terrible, but the twilight was playing tricks on her. And she was rather preoccupied trying not to bust another board on the bridge.

"And how many elves do you know, exactly? I find it statistically improbable that I am literally the clumsiest." Del'Rathan frowns as his pride gets the better of him, and disregards caution as he makes his way across the bridge again once Callisandra had made her way across. ((Acrobatics: 4 + 16 = 20)) This time, he manages to move quickly across with little effort, though his focus on his footwork leaves him a bit blinded to much else. ((Perception 3 + 4 = 7)) "'Careful' my skinny Elven-" He briefly glances over and sees Cherche and thinks better of finishing his comment, clearing his throat instead.

Caim frowned as he had the profound realization he couldn't repeat that stunt. At least not without attempting it again. He shoots across with comparative ease, unties the rope, and brings it with him across to the other end without incident. Cherche, in the meanwhile ended up stalking across the second length of bridge (Same DCs, just long enough to warrant two checks) with the express intent of not involving herself. Caim, meanwhile glared at the child. He said nothing, the exasperation on his face said enough. The resounding 'really?' present as he tethered this post and made his own way across, then, it happened. Three quarters of the way, he broke through the boards, realizing he was still carrying the rope he hooked it onto the bridge, dangling fifty feet or so below. "Shit." He murmurs.
((OOC: General perception checks. Everyone. Including Jejune.))

“I know enough elves!” Callisandra protested, but she was counting her fingers, “Such as… uh, maybe a few.” Before she could continue, Caim decided to break through the boards on the bridge and fall until he was hanging like bait on a line, “Sir Caim!” Without thinking much, she began to move across the bridge at a steady pace (Acrobatics at half speed [20’]: 12 + 1 = 13). She got a hang of the bridge’s sway fairly quickly and continued until she reached where Caim had fallen. She grabbed the rope and began pulling up. (Strength check to pull up: 16 + 4 = 20) Her delicate looks didn’t reveal it, but the princess had an uncanny amount of strength, “This is no time to be hanging around, Sir Caim!” (Acrobatics just in case: 15 + 1 = 16)

As Calli got to the rope, she realized Caim was about halfway up on his own. "Really, let me drop next time--it's preferable to a godawful pun... but I'm in your debt, milady, at any rate." He chortled as she assisted the climb. As he pulled himself over the ledge, he looked over to Cherche, then upwards. "They've made us--!" Caim shot into place, a ring of steel being drawn and the clacking of a crossbow bolt being loosed, Callisanda felt a warm splash of something on her collar. Something told Callisandra that the shot was aimed at her. Something also told Calli that had Caim not been such a forceful defender, that would've either really hurt, or killed her outright (Caim triggers Suicidal racial trait, 19 for a light crossbow, Crit Threat; 7 failed confirmation; 6 dam... I'm actually pretty glad he's got beaucoup Perception) "Be steadfast." He urged as he took a careful step forward off the damn bridge. He sure as hell was, sounding quite cheerful despite now having a crossbow bolt in his guts.
Cherche spotted things far too late. She dropped her blade and appeared to enter some sort of daze. She wasn't yet spotted, but doubled over and spat up. Nerves. This was her first real sortie. One more whizzed harmlessly by Callisandra, two at Caim, one winging him and doing next to nothing (1), one... into the canyon, ineffectually aimed at Del. Once Callisandra (9), Jejune (12) and Del'Rathan (6) got their bearings together, they spotted two crossbowmen up on the second floor of the tower, three up top and they could hear a few coming from the second floor downstairs, towards Cherche who was by the door.
((OOC: Initiatives plox. Also, bear in mind the two bodyguards are functioning at level 3 and mostly serve as hitpoint buffer and Aid monkeys. And pack mules. Cherche is the only proxy currently playing by your rules.))

Initiative roll: 2[d20] + 5[DEX] + 2[Reactionary trait] = 9 Despite her suspicion that whoever had taken over the tower would attack anyone that approached, Jejune was still startled by the crossbow bolt hitting caim. She had never been in a battle, apart from the massacre of her home, and thus hesitated a bit. Her body's imbued quick reactions and immunity to fear meant that she only hesitated for a moment before abandoning stealth, casting her Shield spell on herself and drawing her scimitar as she advanced about 20 feet towards the door. She hoped that by standing in stance to fight the bandits Callisandra's group would understand she was not their enemy.

(Initiative: 17 + 2 = 19)
While this was Callisandra’s first sortie, the rush almost came naturally. She was rather well-trained despite being a princess. Most called her a tomboy, with her martial exercises, drunken appearances, and the ability to chase off men (even without the help of Caim). Though she did enjoy the fine draperies and jewelry, if her well-tanned and decorated leather armor plus exquisitely polished greatsword was any indication. Of which, she unsheathed from its scabbard and moved forward to join Cherche and hug the wall, not being in front of the door in case the brigands decided to explode through it, “Caim, get behind cover!” She commanded him, his wound a grisly sight but a distraction nonetheless, and she kept her mind off of it, “Cherche, it’s going to be fine. Just remember what Caim taught you, alright?” She readied her sword, slashing it at anyone who may step through the door.

Alexandria | 23 (Natural 20) | Caim | 19 | Callisandra | 19 | Cherche | 17 | Del'Rathan | 12 | Jejune | 9 | Bandits | 4 |
Callisandra dashed into position outside the tower just in time to see a bandit get summer bones courtesy of Alexandria (summer over here, summer over there) as the bisected bandit was flung, half through the window, the other half hitting the wall and slumping. The almost comical amount of gore was shielded by the fact that her retainer, as ever valued his duty over comfort. It was less a show of defiance and more a sign that he knew full well she was going to protect her niece, his duty was to protect her, and by proxy that meant protecting Cherche... not that he wouldn't have anyway. "I found cover." He chortled as he hovered around Calli. He then turns to see Cherche. "Oh. Bugger."Cherche seemed to tremble for a bit before panic finally overtook her. A starry ichor that would've been eerily familiar to Jejune overtook her arm and then caused it to melt, merging with the weapon she held before both limbs were overtaken by this bizarre amalgamation of shadows, starstuff, fangs and claws. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head, rows of teeth burst forth from her gums. Subtlety just out the window when a roar like a cross between an anguished child and the breath of ruin itself broke the silence. Cherche's head snapped a full 180 degrees at a bandit inside, and he froze in absolute mortal terror. "What that hell is that thing?!" Alex called out after Cherche burst through what was left of the window. Not Caim nor Callisandra nor Jejune could not see it, but the screams said enough from the dying man, and the witness. (Missing a declaration for Del'Rathan)Jejune came into place just in time to watch Cherche go berserk and start her day off by utterly mauling some poor bastard who had the misfortune of being caught committing the heresy of being some random bandit asshole. Her shield crackled around herself as she made her way into place. On the plus side, if Cherche's wrath truly could not be directed and she killed Caim, she'd have both royals isolated enough to talk to. Not that one of them was remotely inclined to talk. ((...Well, Cherche now canonically panics and then berserks. This pleases me. I have now experienced magic.))

Del quickly but carefully moves forward, trying to reach closer to the walls. Seeing his own opportunity, he casts a defensive spell (Mage Armor) and holds his staff to the side, knowing full well that he might be forced to use it. His eyes darting around quickly, he tried to find the narrowest approach, possibly a choke point, or at least a way to stem any oncoming attacks. (Perception? roll to look: 17 + 3 = 20 )

The tower erupted in a cacophany of screams and roaring. It was more surprising the other towers hadn't been alerted. Of concern was the main one with its polybolos which would've had a clear vector if somehow, the men maybe three eighths of a mile south could hear, aim and target the group from here.
Del'Rathan edged over the bridge slowly, managing to spot some light brush near the tower that would either force them to maneuver carefully to close, or soak crossbows courtesy of the thickness of the trees, where he just so happened to spot Jejune creeping.
Two men attempted to surround Cherche, but one was brutally ripped apart when his bold charge collapsed along with the sanctuary of his own liquid courage as he was reduced to a disembodied head riding a trail of boiling viscera roiling from his torso. The other swung, but missed the dragonling, with two more jumping from the window between Caim and Callisandra to get away from the scene, both carrying daggers and hilariously unaware of the two armored individuals out front. ((OOC: Sprinkles, you have two potential attacks of opportunity to capitalize on should you wish.))
Caim offhandedly grabbed the collarbone of the first one out, there was a groan as he wrenched the man to the ground, and a brutal crunch as he knocked him out with a follow-up knee to the chest.
((OOC: Scratch that. One. Initiative count begins at top, Callisandra is up.))

“Cherche!” Callisandra called out but realized it was too late, the girl was seeing red. Or who knows what she was seeing really, “I was afraid of this…” When the pair of bandits jumped out of the window, Caim got one, while Callisandra swung at the other with her sword…
((Assuming this hits.)) The princess’s greatsword sliced through the man like a ripe fruit, and it took her a second to realize that this was her first time harming someone in a lethal manner. Sure, she has gotten into her fistfights, but this was different… it felt different.
((If the bandit is unconscious/dead.)) Callisandra left the fallen bandit behind and rushed into the entryway, ready to cut through any brigand that was between her and her berserking niece.
((If the bandit is SOMEHOW still alive, use attack above and move inside.))

((OOC: He is dropped. Dead. Unconscious. Take your pick. Random mook. Also, the incidental perception check upon entering the building wasn't all that great. Thank god for proxies. Same for the second goon you dropped. I'm assuming once you guys push into positive BAB you can 'pull' a strike with a weapon you're proficient with.))
Alexandria's blade was audibly clashing, she was about thirty feet from Cherche keeping the bandits tied up with her on the stairs, though she was ripped up pretty badly from what would've likely been a combination of carelessness and protecting the royal. There were three tied up with Cherche as Callisandra got in, at least in plain sight. Three became two when she observed the Dread Rider offhandedly twirl out a hatchet and hew the sword arm off of one of the attackers and send him flying with one throw.
And there Callisandra saw it, Cherche was inside engaged with two, two became one as she offhandedly cut him from shoulder to groin, definitely a mortal wound if she didn't pull her blade. A quick look around and she realized Caim was no longer with her, having stopped to deal with an opportunist who struck at Callisandra from a blind spot behind the door only to find his waiting blade clashing against it. He'd stopped to engage. Cherche was normally far more mild, seeing her blood-crazed like this was... incongruous to say the least. The draconic child bellowed once more and slammed her bladed abomination hand against his face. A spine jutted out of her elbow, and much like a line pile shot through, impaling the brain and finishing him off more or less instantly. Cherche then turned on Callisandra, purple eyes turned black and empty, starry and full of unending hunger. Then there was a brief flash of lucidity before she turned her attentions on the bandits on the stairs, she even had the sensibilities to pick up her weapon which was firmly planted in the ground. Through a person.
((OOC: Zrooper, to answer your question if Jejune realized she's been spotted, I'll allow an incidental Sense Motive against a DC 10 to determine whether or not Jejune realizes Del'Rathan spotted her. You have two choiced of entry you can reach with a move action, one through the door which will leave you adjacent to Caim, one through a window which leaves you by Calli and Cherche. Jejune is also close enough to move to Del... which may collapse the bridge segment.
Speaking of, Del can move off the bridge with a move action on this round.))

Sense Motive: 17[d20] + 1[WIS] - 4[Emotionless] = 14 Jejune noticed the elf looking her way, apparently having spotted her now that she was in view. She elected to ignore him for the movement, instead striding in and stepping up next to Caim. "Do not be alarmed." she told him. "I am an ally. I must have an audience with Callisandra, but first I will help you to clear out these bandits."
Diplomacy: 12[d20] She felt she was reasonably convincing, though her flat tone and mask might be off-putting.
