OOC: Actually, while the success and failure generated by a triumph and despair cancel, their extra special goodies/baddies apparently don't (if anybody wants to double-check me, I'm seeing it on page 23 of EOTE). Thus, this'll be greatly horrible! Tragically delightful! Or most likely, generally unpleasant with a silver lining.
I'll try to see what Stev can do to make everyone's lives easier, but right now my game plan is that, looking at the Wookiepedia page for Spacetroopers, it says the armor "interfaced with standard stormtrooper armor." So, that sounds like we might have a way to pop Gorak out of the armor a la emergency ejection (or possibly cut him out, if necessary), the jetpack will again be propelling a weight it was designed to handle (actually, its weight minus one arm), and since Stev already has something vaguely resembling control over it, he could get it to become relatively stationary. Now, if only Stev's Let's Ride talent let him make OTHER PEOPLE enter/exit seats in vehicles as an incidental action. Then we'd be golden!
Unfortunately, doing that would kill our soon-to-be resource on all things Sarne, so I was going to avoid doing that if possible. However, if Vandal could get in range to grab Gorak, we might all make it out of this without crashing into something painful.

OCC:I think the use of a destiny point is calling. Despair and triumph do not cancel each other. He lives but suffers a loss. My thought was either his suit he must drop or Gorak is lost. Stev you can choose, or use a destiny point to land by debris from the ion drive explosion on the planet. You could grab a floating tree and save your armor and then pull Gorak with the grapple to you. You at least will have his body (the strain was too much for the guy). The strain would be 2 for the threats and 5 for the despair.

Might be able to spare it. Can I get my pool size for the intercept?

If you are leaping from the Muvon and catching the wildly flailing Stev and Gorak I would call it athletics 3C with a boost for your experience with jetpacks. I would add a setback for having a new arm. Failure means you all hit the water.

Vandal surged off the ramp and outwards, grappling herself to the Muvon and kicking off while detaching her anchor. With twitch-like reactions she launched on wings of fire with the eye of a woman experiencing the joy of flight for the first time.
1P, 2A, 1B, 3C, 1S 4 Successes, 3 Setbacks
"Overshot! Damn!" She snapped as she sailed past, reversing her momentum and twisting in a way not exactly intended and forcing herself into an overboost to compensate for the miss. What she didn't notice was while she was shredding G-forces was that she burnt her cloak, leaving her scorched (3 Strain) but no worse for wear, and in fact, making the rescue seem much more dramatic for the brief moment she flew on wings of fire before it was reduced to ash and exposed damaged circuitry and melted duraplast. "I have you!" She shouted, idly decking Gorak before grabbing the two of them in a bear hug to give them lateral momentum to break the fall. As far as she was concerned, she was dead anyway, but the Commander and the mission took priority. "Get his pack started. I'm dead anyway. Go! Fly!"

Landing back in the Muvon Stev, Vandal, and Gorak return to the island and the loot. They have a new ship, a warehouse full of weaponry, a small army of laser immune monsters, and 3 hours before an EMP arrives and shuts down everything again.

OOC: Aw, and I was about to use the saber to slice off all of Gorak's limbs to reduce our weight! It would've been fun! Oh well, that'll be what the interrogation's for, I guess. By the way, how long would it take us to escape the effective range of the EMP? I know we've got the two generators to immediately kick-start the ships after the EMP hits, but it's probably better to avoid that altogether, if possible. For a moment, Stev can hardly believe it as they touch down back in the Muvon, but thanks to Vandal's genius maneuvers, somehow it was reality. As they touch down on the ground and release, Stev holds Gorak to the ground and, since there's a stump where one of the Rodian's arms would be, he sets one loop of a set of binders on Gorak's left wrist and the other on his right ankle, forcing Gorak to stay curled in a ball to avoid breaking one of the two joints. He then turns his attention to Vandal "I don't know how you pulled that off, but you did. I can't thank you enough."
At this point, Vandal would be sure to notice (I'm assuming this based on her military background and exhibited knowledge) that, while he's missing the kama, pauldrons, and range finder, Stev's in an otherwise complete set of Phase II ARC trooper armor painted dark grey, complete with a red stripe along his left arm to denote rank. At the same moment, it seems Stev also realizes he's standing completely undisguised in the distinctive armor set, as he lets out a slow, defeated sigh, and after a moment says "Look, I know this probably brings up a lot of questions, and I swear I'll explain everything later, but we're still on the clock right now. We don't want to get caught in that EMP."
With that, he drags Gorak to the med center, straps him into a bed, and injects the Rodian with enough sedatives to keep him out for the next few hours. He then puts his helmet back into his pack and puts his long jacket back on, once again concealing his equipment.

"We'll have the off-clock discussion when we're not in danger of dying. Gorak's stunt cost me an arm and a spotless track record... I'd like to oversee his interrogation." The trooper noted. A contrast from earlier, she was quite clearly run ragged, and the new cybernetic was obvious enough, given that it was misshapen. "I wouldn't worry about him. If he survives our interrogation, he'll still have to contend with whatever impromptu tribunal we hold, and then that of the Republic." She sighed, biting her lip. "At any rate, the moment you want to issue the order to begin extracting the goods from the facility, I'll gladly do it. But we have other matters to worry about."
"The Jarrels seem to think I'm either the Inquisitor I say I am or the Sith I probably might be. I mean... I have a plan mind you. They want to follow who they think is a Sith, I’m going to be a Sith: Sith seem to respect violence and big capes. I am violent. I found this." She held up the ruined cloak and then sighed. "We can capitalize on this or we can liberate them from the Imperials and give them a second chance. They surrendered so that rightfully makes them our prisoners. They aren't legal combatants, so eliminating them isn't out of the question." She turned her gaze to Stev, her calm didn't bely the fact that this was her way of deciding if he was a worthy Commander to follow.

OOC The PD13 and friends can fix and fly Ned'Ix ship. Before you need one player need to make a warfare roll to see how successful you are at choosing the best equipment.
You then need to decide what to do with the Jarrels.
Your doctor will treat Gammer, Sasha, and Gorak.
You load the vessels and will make a micojump out of system, wait out the EMP then jump back in.

Stev replies "If there's anything I've learned today, it's that a clearly defined enemy is much easier to deal with than a tenuous ally. We need their manpower right now, but if you think they'll turn if they see you without your disguise, keep them under your command via comm while they load the gear onto the ships, then we can break the news to them. Afterwards, we'll have to lock them up, since they did try to kill all of us, and they need to be charged with the attempted homicide of the entire team."
"However, they were also likely conscripted through force or deception by Gorak and Unda, and we don't know how much they actually knew about the duo's intentions. I'd much prefer to keep them imprisoned until we reach Gandle Ott, and then submit them for questioning. If we determine that they were under threat of force or death, I could talk to our Diplomat and Legal Expert, B'Dorbeck, about seeing if we could get them off on a plea deal. That's just my thoughts, though. You're the one who's actually interacted with them in a nonviolent way, so I trust you to understand them the best and act accordingly."
Stev then grabs his portable comm and announces "We don't have much time to get these ships running and this gear hauled, so I want somebody on the ground who knows what we need and how to get it quickly. Any takers?"
OOC: As far as Warfare goes, Sivu's the better of my two with a pool of 1P3A. If nobody else is better, he can do it, although it might be nice to have him speeding up the engine repairs of the two ships.

Boom, Amura, and Brophar are no better choices. Aren may know a thing or two about warfare. The rest of your crew are either headed for a bacta tank, healing people, or fixing the ship.

Sivu looks up from the Gthroc's controls at the comm and states "I can efficiently determine and procure the items of greatest material and logistical value, and direct any others to do the same. I will merely require a moment to enter the depot." With that, Sivu marches out of the ship and towards the depot.
Mechanics: Warfare Check 1P3A. Result 4 successes 2 advantages.
----
Stev walks the personal quarters of the Muvon and stows away almost all of his gear. He takes a deep breath and calms himself down as he does so, knowing that any energy spent now is energy that will be needed to help haul in the gear from the depot. In his moment of privacy, he also checks on his bindings from the damage his ribs took last mission, sighing with relief when he finds the wound wasn't worsened by the strain. Unfortunately, what had worsened was his smell, which had been hidden within the armor until then, and had compounded due to the day's events. The moment he confirms the bindings are secure, he seals his armor back up. Note to self: Don't open up the armor until you get cleaned up.
Mechanics: Cool Check 2P. Result 3 successes 1 advantage. Adding in his additional strain healing from Rapid Recovery, I believe that puts him at full again.

The next hours are a rapid repairing, loading, and finally take off from the planet. Both ships make jump and what follows is 8 long hours of waiting for the EMP field to pass. You poke around crates, look up information, and generally sit around. By the time you jump back into system Sasha, Gammer, and the entire crew are up and moving.
OOC: Let me know anything in particular you want to do over those hours. Shower maybe? Also let me know if anyone is in the Ghtroc with PD13.
Your ships re-enter real space in a thin nebulous cloud that was once two gas giants. The two cores are orbiting away from each other. Your scanners find each core has a small vessel the size and shape of an escape pod still in orbit around it.
Stev can feel a presence in the force around one of the pods. The other feels empty of life.

A shower was a rare treat, and Vandal took the opportunity to scrub blood, grime and burnt flesh from her body. The improvised cybernetic wasn't much compared to the military grade replacements she already had in play, simple as they were, they functioned just fine. Once done, she re-attached the limb and got to work on scrubbing her armor out to get the sweat, grime and pieces of De'Caville out of there. She brought it over to maintenance, but had no faith in it being done in time for the next deployment, instead, wrapping herself in a black cloak and heading out to meet with the Jarrels. "I'm only going to ask this once--which of you speaks Basic?" She asked with more authority than pause.

OOC: I'll volunteer Sivu for PD babysitting. He'll hate it, but he wasn't even shot at this mission, so he isn't allowed to complain.
Since he still wants to learn more of the systems hidden within the Ghtroc, Sivu elects to remain on that ship with the PDs. The way he sees it, he'll have a nice opportunity to study some new tech while enjoying some quiet away from all the organics, which is his preferred way to pass the time anyway.
Unfortunately, in an extreme lapse of judgment Sivu fails to remember that ALL of the PDs have downloaded PD13's personality matrix, which apparently must have included a variety of entropy-promoting functions. After hearing three dramatic reenactments of the Adventures of Alta Dayson, breaking up two droid brawls, and suffering through roughly half of a slam poetry competition dedicated to Allistar entirely in Binary, he's finally had enough and goes to the cockpit alone to focus on the secrets the freighter could hold. As he makes an assessment of its systems and attempts to access Bifzik's files, he keeps an eye out on a feed to the storage areas they placed the dispatched Jarells. He'd like to believe they were all slain, but he's not the sort to take chances.
----
OOC: Sorry, the first paragraph takes place right before liftoff.
As Stev aids with moving the gear, he thinks again on their original mission with the tablets. He's at a complete loss on how to keep those things from coming back together and menacing the galaxy again. He orders the PDs that were carrying the pieces to bury them as deeply as they can in the time before liftoff, hoping that droids intending to aid in excavations would actually know how to excavate.
After he gets back on the ship, he'll leave one announcement "Two hours before our wait ends, I want everyone together for a debriefing. After today's events, both with the tablets and Gorak's betrayal, I think we're going to need a moment to voice concerns, give thoughts on the next step, and assess the new information we've gathered, and I'd prefer to have all that sorted out long before we rejoin the FarStar. Until then, take a break everyone. You've all earned it a million times over."
While Stev waits for the shower to become available (as much as he wants one ASAP, he'll elect to wait until everyone else who wants one gets one) he pulls out the hologram that was hidden in the Muvon earlier and watches it. At best, it may give them some useful info, and at worst, it'll still be a decent way to kill time.
